Such a pretty song to give me an unpleasant flashback memory of an insane point in time in my past. WHEN you feel you must leave reality for a while, just check into your nearest funny farm and wait for that nurse with the pharmacy keys. You'll be just fine.
I was there LA Scene in the 90s everyone talks about Seattle but LA in the 90s Pretty Special Go see Failure and Tool at a 200 capacity club than drive to Silverlake and see Weezer at the now Famlus SpacLand (20 capacity) Go score some dope on Alvarado Where you would definitely see a Chili Pepper Or 2 Etc
Thank you. Not many who come to Failure through APC can admit that. ;) Of course I'm biased having been mainly a Failure fan, but I gotta agree with you, heh. :P (I do appreciate the APC cover for what it is, btw.)
God I would love to see these guys again . I saw them at the Trocadaro in Philly back in the 90s. Amazing band , it’s rare to hear a band play live and they sound better then the studio cut. Just awesome.
Dude, you’re so friggin’ lucky. I was super into them from the moment Stuck on You was released as a single, and never got the chance to see them before they broke up. I finally got to see them in Chicago this week, and my God was it amazing. A 26-year wait with any other band would likely have been an epic let down.
@@jmiddlefinger My favorite songs are Heliotropic and the Nurse who loved me. I like all their music but those two are my favorite. Did they play either of these at the show? Would love to see them again , such a blast.
Why did these guys not fully blow up like nirvana, STP, Alice In Chains… those bands… I’m not even a huge “stoner rock” fan but this chorus hits home so hard. And only 272,000 monthly listeners… wow.
This was not the first version I heard...but it's my favorite. This is what I cover when I do open mics. It's so good! (Their version, not my crummy open mics haha)
They signed a record deal in 1992, when all record companies wanted grunge and the next Nirvana... Failure got no support from their record label because they were different. The band has talked about this.
Failure is a perfect example of how messed up the record industry is. I didn't learn of the band until after they broke up. I immediately bought everything I could find from them. I was elated, to say the least when they got back together.
Is this rock, or power pop? (Not implying one would be better than the other, after all, Big Star is often called power pop, but it doesn't affect my love for them, and it won't affect my love for these guys either.) Discuss.
Look up "With David Bowie" by Veruca Salt for some semi obscure, perfect power pop. This is noise/space rock. It's just plain perfection, that's what it really is.
It has been years when I discovered this band through APC cover. Compare Maynard to Freddie or Cornell, he probably won't stand in their lane and in a similar way Ken Andrews stands out in his own unique way, his voice is fucking great if you listen to Fantastic Planet
Kens voice is still so amazing. Him Greg and Kelli were meant to be.
Tell me how these guys weren’t bigger? These are great songs and sounds more like the 90s then a lot of the stuff that was popular back then.
They broke up just a few months after releasing their most popular record.
Heroin is a bitch
I can say I heard the Failure version first 😁
favorite band. favorite song. favorite everything.

I need Greg's jacket.
...and yes, this is one of the greatest songs in history.
even maynard covered it!
Been a fan for almost 30 years, Jesus.
i love this song so much. i heard the APC version first but the original is SO much better :D
same, I love maynard for sharing these guys

Failures version is so FAILURE
they should do a mash up....best of both
Agree to disagree

👌🏻
💘💘💘
If they started in 1994, the record companies would have thrown money at them. Great stuff. To real for the auto-tune kids.

PUTA MERDA QUE SOM BOM DO CARALHO SLK
Flinch. You moved.
Say hello to the shrinking in your head
did they know what they were doing? DID THEY
Vocals Remind me of a 50/50 split between John McCrea and Rivers Cuomo

Space rock
Power pop falls under the broader rock umbrella. (Also, this is not power pop.)
@Jason Jordan Right
Look up "With David Bowie" by Veruca Salt for some semi obscure, perfect power pop.

Rock of the highest quality
Damn maynard looks alot like the guy from weezer.
Saw them with flaming lips and tool circa 92-93ish kinda foggy
Nice cover.

Nice one hahah
I don’t get it
Jk
Fuckn hell
Everyone shut up about APC pls.
FAIL. 0 OUTTA 10 IN ALL CATEGORIES LOL.. that hipster on the keys tho.. i can't y'all
his voice sounds like kurt cobain
Gross no
No, he's not even in the same ball park as Cobain. Still love this band though.
@@mikeroland2133*better
No one actually thinks this singer is better than fn Maynerd.. thats a god damn lie. Blasphemy ~
