- The plaintiff says he hired the defendant to do some minor engine work, but the man ended up destroying it. He’s suing for the amount it will cost him to get a new motor. The defendant says he worked on the engine and told the plaintiff there was an issue because it had 300,000 miles on it.
case 29-044
We all need a friend like him. He is very honest and that is rare…
The mechanic seems like a good man. I love that he said he would not allow anything materialistic to ruin the friendship❤️
V. v
💯
yes he was real& honest
This was an honest mechanic. That's so rare.
What a nice and honest guy - the defendant. Handsome too.
Wish he lived near me because I would definitely take my car to him. It’s hard to find an honest mechanic that don’t try to cheat females. I always get one of my white male friends to drop my car off to mechanics.
@@Cookie-zv3ni that's racist.😹😹😹
@@Cookie-zv3ni I feel you. Women are consistently taken advantage of with mechanics. My dad always takes my car for repairs so that I can get a fair price. It's sad that we have to do things like that though.
@@sebastianabsolution655 Nope it’s not letting yourself be taken advantage of. My friends didn’t believe me. So we did a test. He loosened my spark plugs and when I went in they told me the engine is misfiring would need a heads replaced $1800.00. A week later he did the same thing again but he took it in and they didn’t charge him just tightened the spark plug. Same car, different sex and race. Not racist just smart. My friends told me to never take my car in myself they will do it for me. I have great friends. 😜
Yes 😋
God bless the defendant for being such a great, honest man
The mechanic is a stand up guy... Yes King.. Do us proud...
Ha Ha
SAY THAT AGAIN!!!! YAAAS "KING DO US PROUD!!!" LOVE THIS COMMENT and this defendant!!!! ❤
@@nataliedthomas30 Kings and Queens standing together recognising and acknowledging our innate strength, beauty and humanitarianism when all around us are blind to this FACT... I'm sending you love and light for being part of the solution and not part of the problem... x
That defendant is real intelligent professional and knowledgeable about cars. I learned something from this episode
300k miles is A LOT of mileage. Definitely got their use out of that car.
Plus some 😂
And he put a new engine with 72k
Idly why some people just won’t let go. Wasting all that money on repairs 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Don't sleep on a "good" alley mechanic y'all!! Most of them are certified and only work in the "alley" because the don't wanna work for someone else. 🤷🏾
Amen, they've saved me in a pinch tons of times and saved me money!
true dat
Close to 300,000 miles . 🤦🏿♀️ let the car go 😂
Exactly! Old ass car!
🤦🏾♀️😂
You’d be surprised, maintain a solid engine properly and it they can last till 500🤣 but yeah that’s if your like hurtin hurtin, otherwise just drop it lmao
Clearly none of you have ever owned a German car🤣
Look at the defendant look like Will Smith ? Does anyone else see it. Specially his mouth, his facial movements. Oh heck just focus on him
Mr. CHAMPION, you are a really good man. God bless you sir.
I'm a mechanic and I had a guy bring his van in almost a year after I had told him to get his intake gaskets replaced for this very reason. He left the van after work. I started it the next morning and drove it into the shop. I had one of my guys replace the gaskets and change the oil and filter which is standard procedure. The worker went to start it and it acted like the battery was dead. We tried several things before finally figuring out that it was locked up. It had been driven for almost a year with leaky intake gasket and antifreeze getting mixed in with the oil. The owner was livid but it wasn't our shop's fault. He said it was running fine when he dropped it off which was true but it also ran fine when it was pulled in and then never ran again. After the owner left and researched leaky intake gaskets on the internet he came back and apologized. He then understood that driving for a year after he was originally told about the problem was what caused it. This is a real problem and the mechanic probably wasn't responsible even though it initially was started before the oil was changed. That's not good for it but a minute or two shouldn't ruin the engine unless it was ready to go anyway.
I learned a lot from your comment. My husband says you're correct as well.
thanks!
I loved listening to him talk. He was really educated and knew what he was talking about. I honestly love working with my mechanics 🖤🖤
U take a lovely photo...I am on the clock here in melrose park illinois USA....
The Defendant is very handsome ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
Fair judgement and I'm not sure I can still be friends after being sued lol
Nope I’d be salty everytime I see them 😂
On these court tv shows, the show pays the winner. That’s probably why he wasn’t trippin
@@Worst_Part no they don't why do people keep saying this.
@@zacharybohlman4069 because it's true. Look it up. Why are you saying it's not true?
Think judge milli got screwed over by an alley mechanic reason why she always has to emphasize "alley mechanic" .
And their workers are "Moe, Curly and Larry" 😂😂
IF there was coolant in the oil from the beginning,he HAD A CRACK IN THE HEAD GASKET.... for that guy to pay half a used engine cost is crazy.....
That was not fair. She should have said it's 300k it wasn't gonna last that much longer.
Preventive work on a engine with 297k miles 😂
This mechanic is great man, even though he has to pay he’ll get money back from other job, because this man has heart, money comes and go but not friends ( true friends)
I don't think the plaintiff should have won. The truck is really old with 300,000 miles on it. Plus most people don't take care of old Ford Expeditions. It's almost rare to find an older one that's clean with low miles.
he had to have taken care of it to get 300k miles out of it lol
The guy left other people with the car..... the car was in the mechanics care. That's why the plaintiff won.
I don't think he should have gotten half because that engine costs more than the car .
ithink she felt sorry for his ass. 🙄
Listen.....if I wasn't married the defendant could get it!! That man is handsome, seems honestly and took his L like a champ.
So you screw random men because they’re “handsome, and honest, and took an L”?? Ok sis! 🙄
The defendant is just a really nice guy. You can tell which one his more respect for their friendship.
This is rare an honest mechanic. That’s the only reason why the plaintiff won.
The defendant could work on my car anytime. He was very honest..... and handsome too.
I wish I knew a mechanic like the defendant. I've never had a good experience with them . 👍🏼👍🏼

I must admit the defendant seems to be an honest person/mechanic because most mechanics are out to get you especially if they feel like you’re not too auto savvy 💯 I strongly believe that he was really trying to figure out what was wrong the plaintiff’s 🚘 he said a powerful said during his exit interview he won’t let any materialistic things get in the way of his friendship with the plaintiff which is usually the opposite in most cases on the other hand 300,000 is a lot of mileage on a 🚘 one with good sense should expect many issues with such an old 🚘 but, I think the judgement was slightly fair
Ouch, that judgement was too high... Way too high! He should of gotten 500 at most!
Absolutely
The plaintiff should feel terrible and never have sued his friend over a 400k mile car what a shame!! Defendant is a stand up honest guy.
Must holds sentimental value!! He won't let that truck go!!
At 300,000 miles that truck is beyond economic repair. Scrap it because it has served it's time. Sludge is generally caused by engine coolant or water getting into the engine oil.
SERIOUSLY, the plaintiff is going to drive that car until the wheels fall (roll) off!
If more people did that instead of living beyond their means and getting upside down on car loans they'd be a lot better off
The Defendant is a genuine good guy!
Sucks that being honest screws you over
Thanks for new cases and I think Harvey is looking better now
That's are not new
Defendant seems like an honest, good man. Almost to a fault.
Two very honest, honorable men. Rare today.
I wish I could get a mechanic like this gentleman
You can't go out on a road trip with a mileage of 300k, time to get a new car unless it's a Honda or Toyota
You absolutely can. Its called taking care of your vehicle and maintaining it properly. Ive got a deer lease truck with almost 500k miles on it and I can drive it cross country without issue if i wanted to because I have taken great care of it.
Or Volvo
Or a cummins
Or powerstroke
@@jacobbritt3835 maybe a 7.3 but definitely not a 6.0
Just replaced my engine in my Prius cause a gasket cracked lol. VERY expensive job.
The mechanic was honest, that was his mistake. Should have never took the honest risk.
2003 Expeditions had those Triton engines which were headaches, especially with the two piece spark plugs that broke in two until Ford created the one piece spark plugs and coolant leak problems. 300,000 miles it's on the way to the junk yard.
Yes, and the cam phasers are junk as well. This was a bad design that Ford did change after just a few model years.
"Running like a sewing machine" is a new one to me.
The defendant looks like an older Will Smith
He shouldn’t have had to pay anything
The defendant's reaction obviously showed that he didn't agree with this verdict. Unfortunately for him the truck was damaged in his personal control.
Right. Why are you letting folks touch the truck anyway lol
Cant believe that car is still worth $1,000 plus
Defendant looks like he could be Will Smiths cousin or brother. Lol
I was thinking the same thing! Lol!
It's the 👂's too
Right? I came to the comments for this!! I thought he could be Will Smith's and Martin Lawrence's brother!
I think the mechanic is a good guy and would not intentionally screw anybody especially a friend.
But some of his answers don't make sense.
I think coolant got into a cylinder when he pulled the intake and the engine "hydrolocked". It happens if u don't drain the radiator before pulling the intake. Honest mistake.
Judge’s hairstyle looks like a throwback ❤️
Mr. Champion IS! a a Champion! I'd leave the plaintiff ALONE! w/his raggedy vehicle!
First have a blessed Sunday!
Happpy Monday..from an Australian viewer

Thank you. Blessings to you!
My cousin Expedition had a million miles on it and her truck was still rolling 🤣🤣 I don't know how bit it did
Ok the defendant totally looks like Will Smith....be still my beating heart❤
The Mechanic just got caught, drove it so I can listen to the spark plugs? hahahaha
Its normal for a mechanic to drive your car and listen to the problem
I feel that JM was kinda hostile to the defendant. He seems really honest and was trying to explain a complicated engine repair
He wanted to “ listen to those spark plugs because they had that tap in them” 😂😂😂😂
The plaintiff’s voice matches his physical appearance to a tee, and so does the defendant’s😂
The mechanic was such a nice guy.
The plaintiff admitted that he had a oil change before he took the truck to the mechanic. So it wouldn't be the mechanic fault right? Case shouldve been dismissed.
What's the point of having Harvey speak in the opening? The narrator at the beginning already introduced the plantiff and defendant and covered the case. Then here comes Harvey saying the same thing again with some unnecessary joke.
Harvey needs to go. COVID got rid of that stupid “man on the streets” segment
Is it just me or does anyone else think the defendant resembles Will Smith?
Man you can probably buy 2 ‘03 Expeditions with 300k miles for $1,100
300 thousand miles? Dude, you got the value out of that sucker.
the mechanic told the truth about everything except driving the vehicle...I've had spark plugs changed and NOBODY had to ever drive my vehicle to listen to them.
What road trip was he taking with a truck with 300k miles 🤔 😳
maybe the defendant should stop being a mechanic and become a model. cuz he too fine.
The 5.4 liter engines in those Expeditions were really bad. Apparently no one thought to bring that up.
Depends on the year. Early 2 valve 5.4 liters were great. The 3 valve design from 03-07 sucked
In West Philadelphia, born and raised, at the garage is where I spent most of my days🎶
She loves calling somebody an ally mechanic.
*alley
We always called em shade tree mechanics. My late husband (in pic) was the best anyone had every seen around where we're from. He could tell you what was wrong by the sound or smell. When he was in his late teens to early 20's he built a Gran Torino from the ground up.
Because he was!!!
@@corporateraider77 whether he is or not. She says it negatively. That's what I'm saying. Everyone can't afford to go to a dealer to get work done when it's sometimes double the amount.

I bet the plaintiff catches hell finding sunglasses that fit
I cant believe the plaintiff would trust taking a vehicle with 297,000 miles on it out of town!!
You've never owned a Honda or Toyota...I can't believe how many people think 279000 miles makes something junk....I've driven for years on yalls "junk" cars
Dependent has a nice line up
The defendant shouldn't have had to pay
Coolant in the oil is a tell tale sign, that motor was no good before he did any work.
I have 3 sewing machines. None of them are working right. If my car ran like a sewing machine, I'd have it in to a mechanic.
If anything, this teaches people that honesty doesn't pay lmao... Another great lesson from the justice system....
An engine with 300,000 miles is worth only scrap. The plaintiff is stretching the truth. He screwed his friend.
I have 400 thousand miles on me and my body, I'm still running fine.
Having a bit of trouble with a knee joint, but the mechanic said he can fix it!
Good mechanic....bad old engine. plaintiff got lucky on this one.
A 2003 Ford Expedition with almost 300,000 miles on it? I already have ruled in favor of the defendant lol. Those engines are known to blow, especially if you don’t change the oil and have a freaking blown head gasket
Cars get old, and die. That’s what happened to all the trucks before; very unlikely this truck would be different and last much longer.
It may look well on the outside- but on the inside it’s a mess.
It was unfortunate that the truck died while the defendant was working on it. The same thing would have likely happened if he brought it to another mechanic; the head gasket was leaking fluid into the engine ; the engine doesn’t stay cool and then gets seized.
Outcome : Damn (Kevin hart voice) 🤣
He wrong for suing his friend over tht old ass engine , wen he know he brought it to his friend cause he trusted him Nd prolly got a discount . A snake in the grass ..
How many people scroll over the youtube timeline to see the preview thumbnail to see who lost? Usually, the first person out of the courtroom lost.

The voice over is hilarious
Stop trying to be cheap!!!
The plaintiff has put almost another 100k miles on it?!?! That’s crazy. I think the motor had unissued before it was taken to the mechanic
No, he said his replacement engine has 71k miles but it was used, so it probably came with that many miles on it from the junkyard.
The mechanic was honest & the car was old as hell!
God bless everyone on here❤🐦
Love the defendant
If the engine had gunk in the oil then the engine would have gunk stuck to the walls of the block, and just having the oil changed doesn’t get rid of the thick gunk.
Some of the gunk will get stuck to the inside of the engine but it's the stuff that isn't stuck to engine that is mixed in with the oil that needs to be removed. It gets circulated through the bearings which are pretty delicate and it destroys them as was probably the case in this instance.
I wouldn't trust this mechanic with my scooter he has a answer for everything omg
He got to really love that truck
How long you gonna nurse it 😂
