Wow, and I thought we had a good singer on our theater team. The young man playing Erik has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard sing that part. And I'm including professionals in that assessment. The girl playing Christine also has a magnificent voice. I hope both of them go on to work in some capacity that allows them to showcase such talent. Bravo!
Beauty is in the ears of the listener. I prefer this young man's voice. I was not stating a fact but an opinion. You apparently spend too much time judging the voices of high schoolers and not enough time paying attention to what lessons you should have already learned. Like simple definitions.
The girl made a wonderful Christine! But let me just congratulate the Phantom from here to the moon and back. Jesus. His amazing vocals rival that of Ramin Karimloo, my favourite phantom out there. I think I'd cry if I found a man that would sing that well. However, props to both! You're going far! (:
I think that the singing is out of this world. The one issue I had was that the acting was boring, he spent his whole part standing about as far from Christine as humanly possible and when they did entwine, they didn't do anything.
This was an absolute treat! This young man and young woman have voices and stage presence comparable to many a Broadway hopeful. I hope they went on to continue to their theater training; if they did, they have a very bright future ahead of them. Bravi, Bravi...bravissima!
I just found this today, and words cannot express how happy this makes me. The girl is an amazing Christine, but the young man in the role of the phantom has such amazing vocals. I can see him as a future phantom in the broadway production.
Happy Ruth thanks so much o will tell him your comment ! He is actually graduated from college now and is a playwright . With a play soon to be in NYC for a theater festival . But he still sings !
Wow!!! That was fantastic! Absolutely amazing and wonderful! I’m just astounded, and marveled by the Phantom’s performance!!! it was wonderful, his voice.. so beautiful! I’m on the verge of tears and speechless... There’s no words... he sang so passionately, so beautifully. It’s astonishing, and further if we consider the fact they’re just amateurs and this is just a school play. And.. he sang just like Gerard Butler! I’m so thrilled, so emotional! It was surreal.. I don’t feel this way even watching the performances from Broadway or west end.. they were just phenomenal
Omg these people need to be on broadway! So. Much. Talent! The production wasn’t extravagant like a lot of the high school productions ive seen but the talents were through the roof!
Just a few comments, The sets were all made by HS students with limited budget. Not sure of you all know but the rights to Phantom is EXTREMELY expensive. In this scene they are suppose to be in a "Scene" from an Opera. This set would have been a set with in a set. I have seen this song done with nothing but a table and a bowl of fruit. lol anyway hope you are all enjoying the videos still three year later check out my other HS videos from Shrek,Drowsy Chaperone, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. I have so many videos .And than you all for the wonderful comments
Thank you to all the many people who have sent positive messages on my channel . as for the people who have been negative these were CHILDREN at the time of this video was recorded they were 17 years old!! Go crawl in your hole and get a life! This is a community where we were one of the first to put on Phantom as a high school . the pit is all HS kids, the set design is all HS kids and the actors are all HS kids . I dare you to find a public school with such diverse talent ! AGAIN thank you all for the beautiful comments over the years
I don't know much about the show, so this may be a dumb question, but why is the girl playing Christine just chilling, like when the phantom entered she was like waddup like not worried at all
swimmerzo She thinks he is just another actor in the opera she is performing. About halfway through the song she notices his ring and that he isn't "Piangi " her fellow actor but the Phantom Of The Opera .Hope that helps answer your question. You should watch the movie Phantom of The opera. It is wonderful
yeah know, this is really the point where the equiptment is actually holding the singers back, notes were hit perfectly and only the room itself and mics were not up to the quality they could have been
So few professional phantoms go the extra mile to imitate Piangi's accent during this song, so on top of how phenomenal Remy is already--brava to him for doing so! He definitely was the scene-stealer for me. As others have pointed out, it's not difficult to make this scene sensual without veering into inappropriate territory though, so that aspect was a bit underwhelming.
IStoleAn Angel'sGrace it doesn't make historical sense or sense to the role that she's coloured. The time period wouldn't allow it and she's supposed to be Swedish.
Emmy Vi, it's also only a high school production, and since there's usually a limited supply of talent in high schools they have to simply pick the best actor for the role regardless of how historically accurate it is, and you have to admit, she's REALLY good.
IStoleAn Angel'sGrace I have no problem with a colored Christine but if I were seeing this on broadway or other professional setting, I would expect the actors playing these roles to be white because that is what is accurate. There weren't many colored people at all in France at that time.
You have come here In pursuit of your deepest urge In pursuit of that wish which till now has been silent Silent I have brought you That our passions may fuse and merge In your mind you've already succumbed to me Dropped all defenses, completely succumbed to me Now you are here with me, no second thoughts You've decided, decided Past the point of no return No backward glances The games we've played till now are at an end Past all thought of if or when No use resisting Abandon thought and let the dream descend What raging fire shall flood the soul? What rich desire unlocks its door? What sweet seduction lies before us Past the point of no return The final threshold? What warm, unspoken secrets will we learn Beyond the point of no return? You have brought me To that moment where words run dry To that moment where speech disappears into silence Silence I have come here Hardly knowing the reason why In my mind I've already imagined our bodies entwining, defenseless and silent And now I am here with you, no second thoughts I've decided, decided Past the point of no return No going back now Our passion play has now at last begun Past all thought of right or wrong One final question How long should we two wait before we're one? When will the blood begin to race The sleeping bud bursts into bloom? When will the flames at last consume us? Past the point of no return The final threshold The bridge is crossed, so stand and watch it burn We've passed the point of no return
the singing is amazing but the stage they way it was organized was bad. i really don't care if it is high school, the point of no return is a passionate song so it must be sung and acted out passionately. and where he was standing raoul could easily get him and the costumes are really bad. the only good thing about this video is the singing.
Vocals are fantastic, but the acting was not there. Also what the heck was going on with the hands. The voices will get you somewhere, but when you get acting skills up you will not regret it.
I've played Christine before and I'm only 15, I did this scene and I can say it isn't that hard to make it passionate without being inappropriate, these two don't have good chemistry, the voices are there but they don't work well together. Also the set and costumes aren't very good. The Christine is trying to hard to act sensual, and the unmasking part was not right at all.
+fxntasyland I didn't know Gina beck was! She is fantastic! I researched light lyric sopranos because I think that's what I am but I honestly couldn't figure out the difference in lyric, light lyric, and soubrette
Bravo!
Thank you so much Robin! Those are very kind words
Robin Hope you are just factually wrong. If you have ears you would know these are hs kids, not professionals
Beauty is in the ears of the listener. I prefer this young man's voice. I was not stating a fact but an opinion. You apparently spend too much time judging the voices of high schoolers and not enough time paying attention to what lessons you should have already learned. Like simple definitions.
WHOEVER PLAYS THE PHANTOM NEEDS TO BE ON BROADWAY RIGHT NOW
Edit: I DIDN'T EVEN HEAR CHRISTINE UNTIL NOW AND SHE NEEDS TO BE ON BROADWAY TOO
The girl made a wonderful Christine! But let me just congratulate the Phantom from here to the moon and back. Jesus. His amazing vocals rival that of Ramin Karimloo, my favourite phantom out there. I think I'd cry if I found a man that would sing that well. However, props to both! You're going far! (:
That Christine is amazing she should be on Broadway
You could have fooled me and said this was a college production (or even West End) and I would have believed. These kids are going places, brava
Damn the phantom has one hell of a voice! I hope he puts that to good use in the future!
Wow, both of them were great, but the Phantom was definitely the high point for me. Exceptional vocal ability!
OMG!!!! THEY MADE ME SHIVER!!! It's hard to find someone with enough passion to make Christine and Erik!!! AMAZING!!!!!!
Honestly, he is amazing. The scenery and costumes are kinda shotty, but the vocals on these two are incredible!!!! It is beautiful you 2!

+Stephanie “Dramamama” DeJoseph I wish I had been able to see it.
I think that the singing is out of this world. The one issue I had was that the acting was boring, he spent his whole part standing about as far from Christine as humanly possible and when they did entwine, they didn't do anything.
Well, it is highschool. It still has to be appropriate for underaged kids. It can't be like the movie or stage play.
Oh it sure can.
Agree 👍
You played Erik very well. Very talented couple of singers!
Oh my word, Remy has AMAZING vocals. Asia is extremely talented too. But MAN, the phantom was beautiful!
Wow that guy who played phantom just wow!!! Truly amazing 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
This was an absolute treat! This young man and young woman have voices and stage presence comparable to many a Broadway hopeful. I hope they went on to continue to their theater training; if they did, they have a very bright future ahead of them. Bravi, Bravi...bravissima!
Wow she is next level! So impressed with both of them!!

Both are incredible! Rocking that bun phantom!
Omg these people need to be on broadway! So. Much. Talent! The production wasn’t extravagant like a lot of the high school productions ive seen but the talents were through the roof!
The two leads are Seniors in High school .
Wow, these two are amazing!! I hope to see them on broadway some day!
both beautiful singers
Phenomenal. These are HS students? Unreal. Would love to see the final lair scene with this cast, any videos of that per chance?
Just a few comments, The sets were all made by HS students with limited budget. Wow! I love when she realizes that he is actually the phantom.
Turn Up! Loved this play!
its a musical not a play
dang this phantom is good
I don't know much about the show, so this may be a dumb question, but why is the girl playing Christine just chilling, like when the phantom entered she was like waddup like not worried at all

04:26 OMFG
Finally a colored Christine!
IStoleAn Angel'sGrace it doesn't make historical sense or sense to the role that she's coloured. The time period wouldn't allow it and she's supposed to be Swedish.
Emmy Vi Funny how it's 2017 and that shouldn't matter

Beautiful voice! I should watch this earlier
Can I ask what grade these people are in cause it says they are in middle school and I am going to middle school
I meant high school
Christine is so pretty!
The singing is decent - who was the Phantom singing to? At the far end of the stage… The acting needs much work.
You have come here
In pursuit of your deepest urge
In pursuit of that wish which till now has been silent
Silent
I have brought you
That our passions may fuse and merge
In your mind you've already succumbed to me
Dropped all defenses, completely succumbed to me
Now you are here with me, no second thoughts
You've decided, decided
Past the point of no return
No backward glances
The games we've played till now are at an end
Past all thought of if or when
No use resisting
Abandon thought and let the dream descend
What raging fire shall flood the soul?
What rich desire unlocks its door?
What sweet seduction lies before us
Past the point of no return
The final threshold?
What warm, unspoken secrets will we learn
Beyond the point of no return?
You have brought me
To that moment where words run dry
To that moment where speech disappears into silence
Silence
I have come here
Hardly knowing the reason why
In my mind I've already imagined our bodies entwining, defenseless and silent
And now I am here with you, no second thoughts
I've decided, decided
Past the point of no return
No going back now
Our passion play has now at last begun
Past all thought of right or wrong
One final question
How long should we two wait before we're one?
When will the blood begin to race
The sleeping bud bursts into bloom?
When will the flames at last consume us?
Past the point of no return
The final threshold
The bridge is crossed, so stand and watch it burn
We've passed the point of no return
Holy crap
I would account her to be more like Princess Jasmin.
This man sounds like Chris mann
the singing is amazing but the stage they way it was organized was bad. i really don't care if it is high school, the point of no return is a passionate song so it must be sung and acted out passionately. and where he was standing raoul could easily get him and the costumes are really bad. the only good thing about this video is the singing.
Christine n Phantom have fantastic voices wow they need be on Broadway, I just dont like the ponytail the Phantom doest have a ponytail

She sounds more like La Carlotta tbh
+little lotte I saw someone say the other day that Sierra Boggess was a coloratura and I don't think that's correct at all isn't she a light lyric?
+little lotte Really when did she say that?
+fxntasyland Oh I didn't even think of that. Are there any Christine's who are light lyrics?
+fxntasyland I didn't know Gina beck was! She is fantastic! I researched light lyric sopranos because I think that's what I am but I honestly couldn't figure out the difference in lyric, light lyric, and soubrette
Menudo insulto por parte de la mujer a este gran musical.
