I have owned BOTH cars, and will say objectively, that although the BMW has a bit more refinement and road feel, the G37 will give you amazing steering feel, much lower cost of ownership, much cheaper aftermarket parts, and a snarling engine note that will always put a smile on your face. The G Series truly IS a "370z in a Tuxedo" as a Car magazine reviewer famously quoted. ESPECIALLY in the rare, "S" package with the paddle shift, upgraded seats, suspension and brakes!

I recently just got that same spec red 6mt sport package g37 and this car is AMAZING even after all these years. Very sophisticated and a very attractive car to look at. Very wel handling and peppy. Like he said I wish it had more hp and and torq but overall a solid car would 10/10 recommend anyone to get one
I think the older G35 has a bit more of a "Badass" look compared to the new G37 which looks a little bit friendlier, but the 19" Wheels look awesome!! Maybe it was the older spoiler on the 04-06 Models that made it look more aggressive. But this is still a phenomenal ride!
What people need to understand is that BMW needed to use 2 turbos to be a only few ticks of a second faster than the G37. Ive driven Bmw's Benzes and Lexus cars and when you drive them back to back with the G, you will see what all the hype is about. Theres no comparison for the price & power combination. The G makes most luxury cars out there feel like 4 cylinders. If you do serious driving on both, the Bmw will be in the shop every single month from the day you bought it. I used to own one.
My dad just bought a 2004 g35 6 speed that he gave me a chance to drive and I've gotta say I'm very impressed! I can only imagine the g37 is an even more well crafted and balanced machine which is really saying a lot
Sorta, nissan claims it was never meant to be a new skyline. I think the issue is the skyline GTR and the skyline aren't the same car but so few people know that. The new nissan GTR is their replacement for the R34 skyline that everybody has wanted for years. The G would be a replacement for the base skyline.
I have owned both of these Cars. G was a great car and I obsoletely loved it.Sold the G and got the 335i recently. This is my experience, 335 is much easier to tune and is a bit faster and torquier that G stock vs stock. Interior noise level in the 335 is much less. With a Full bolt on < 3000$ , you can easily have 400+hp and with E85 Fuel you can get 450+hp (to the crank). Turboing nor Supercharging a G is not that easy and is quite expensive and not very practical. You will need to upgrade the engine parts first. The Engine was not originally designed for forced induction. A lot can go wrong easily and there goes its reliability. My Take, if you want a reliable fast car go with the G, If you want a comfortable ride, easier options to tune and make power and don't mind paying for the reliably costs associated owning a BMW, go with the 335i. either way both are great cars.
I'm strongly leaning toward getting a 335i coupe or a 135i coupe, I'm coming from a 07 350z HR, it's a great engine and a fun car, but kids don't do it justice and I have no desire FI myself. Thought About buying a 370z or g37 coupe but I'd be in the same boat, so does it really cost that much to maintain a BMW? I want an 08-2012
+Nebderf 350zHR : Just make sure that you do a complete check on the car. (Turbos, wastegate rattles, Leaks, Vanos etc) . And if you are not planning to mod the car take an extended warranty. Here in nz we have third parties that give you one. I know the fuel pump is a weakpoint in these cars, but not sure if the newer once had this thing fixed. I had mine replaced under warranty when I had 30k miles on the car. Otherwise the car is running solid until now.
BMW's are always expensive to maintain and not as reliable as the G. As the 335i's are turbo's there is lot in there that can go wrong. But overall i love my beemer.
Went out in my G37 Journey sedan 7 sp the other day just to see how the 0-60 times are holding up . I hated to because I have 200k miles . I got 5.4 seconds on 2 separate runs on flat surface . I had a smidge too much wheel spin with t/c turned off but good runs . I think I could have gotten 5.2 but didn't want to dog it out anymore . I was very pleased with those numbers. That's about what it did with under 50k .
BMW drivers hate on this car because it gives the 300 hp 2 door coupes a major run for it's money for much cheaper (well when it was new because unlike the BMW this Infiniti decently holds its value)
I been fortunate enough to own one G35 & two G37S, and currently own a BMW 535I. The G37S is my favorite car I have ever owned, very sporty, great handling, govehicle! So much fun to play with, only complaint is that I m a big guy 260 lbs. and the bottom seat cushion siding digs into your thighs which you notice after about an hour of driving. This is why I switched to the BMW 535I M Sport Not even close in the handling and a bit less power than the G37, but a car that has a larger wider cabin, and more comfortable seats. As I commute 2 hours daily. If only the Infiniti now Q60 could grow slightly wider & and a little longer & sportier cabin with about 400-450 hp. This would be my ultimate vechicle! Hello Infiniti are you listening?
Most definitely. Disregarding future price depreciations and reliability (we'll have to wait and see), I gotta say though, the ATS is doing quite well in performance, price, and luxury!
Downsides to the g37- expensive to buy relatively new, interior doesnt age well at all, steering feedback is bad, all the power is at a high rpm, hard to find in a manual, slightly slower than the 335. Upsides to g37- reliability is better, maintenance is cheaper, stock for stock the exhaust sounds much better, optioning it out is cheaper. Downsides to 335i-interior is more dated, the stock staggered tires make it understeer more often, doesnt sound as good stock, maintenance is expensive, lots of early models have expensive issues Upsides-interior holds together well over time (leather doesnt crack), the paint job ages better, heaps of torque and power all throughout the rev range thanks to turbos, slightly quicker stock, easy and cheap to get power out of, steering feedback is heavy but rediculously good, handling is a bit better. Conclusion, the g37 has 85% of the performance the 335i has without all the issues
Why do people hate on other brands ? The i6 TT? Plus one of the best handling vehicles of all time. i6 engines are great lasting engines. Both are amazing cars, great engineering.
Nissan/Infinti offers some of the best cars in cost, options, quality, & performance. Think about it. They offer options like 6 spds, RWD or AWD, coupe or sedan all on the same model car. The VQ35 & 37 V6 engine produces more power than most of Acura/Honda, Toyota, BMW, GM, Ford, Chrysler 6 cly engines while consuming less or the same amount of fuel. Nissan is way ahead of the game and theres no catching them!
G37 Sedan owner with the 7AT (2013 model). Stock vs stock it's hard to beat in the same category at the time period. Still smacks around most modern cars.
I had an 08 328i 4dr. I had it a year and I got an 09 G37 sedan. Was thinking of getting a 335i coupe but I'm glad I didn't. I love my G37. It's a sleeper! I've almost had it for a year, but I plan on keeping it awhile. It's been an amazing daily that wasn't too pricey and maintenance isn't bad at all. I love it!
I recently purchased a G37 Coupe. It came down to the 335i and G37. I had about 55k budgeted. The G37 offered more bang for your buck. I was also worried about BMW reliability. My mechanic advised me NOT to get the BMW. End of story. By the way, Infiniti is spelled this way and is made in Japan...
N54 = more powerful and a tuner car VQ = more reliable, NA power. The powerful car that you can daily. Id love to have a g37 to drive to work and stuff and a 335i parked in the garage to make fast for the weekends. Both amazing cars
Yes, the overheating issue is still an issue, but to be honest only for track work on a hot day. 335i brakes are the real track issue, well that and no LSD. signed, owner of 2 335i's and a G37S
We are family owners of both a 2008 335i coupe a 2010 G37 sedan. Both vehicles are the best performing sedan & coupes in their class, the IS, C-class and Audi A4 fail to compare with the over all driving dynamics of both the Infiniti & BMW. I love both cars, the 335i is involving to drive while the G37 amuses you. The only person who would say any different is an owner of solely a BMW and have only owned one side of the spectrum. Coming from a loyal BMW customer, the Infiniti is fantastic!
Crazy how this is the generation when the “skyline” became a pure, n/a driving experience and the 3 series became a behemoth tuner car. The tables basically turned
i own a g35 i bought it in 2003 when they first came out my buddy that year bought a bmw 328 and he has had nothing but problems i currently have 82k miles on it and i havent not had to replace one thing except tires and brakes. not one other problem i love it
Just picked up a new 2010 G37 Coupe three days ago. All I can say is WOW! I've had a G35 Sedan for the last 6 years. I absolutely loved it. I never had a problem with the car and it was so much fun to drive. This new G37 blows it away, both in driving and power. I could not be happier with this car. I've owned BMW's in the past. I have no problem with BMW other than annoying problems I had with mine. For thousands less, and IMO better reliability, I'll stick with Infiniti.
@clarda1 Yes, but there are others who want better performance but have the same reliability. However, at least BMW has addressed those issues with the N55.
Thats why I stick with used Infinitis! My first was an M30 fun little car, but now I got my eyes set on getting a q45 you can get them cheap now for like 5k or less when they used tosell for like 56k brand new!
Buy it but just make sure you take a drive really run that engine, test the brakes, make sure tires are at least 8/32 tread on tires, check the dealers worksheet to see what maintenance they performed, check all fluids, check the vin number online (vindecoderz.com) see the cars history. I just bought 2012 G37S 140,000 Run Excellent, Just use full synthetic oil filter for a super smooth performance. Mobil 1 High Mileage Full Synthetic Motor Oil 5W-30 and Fram Ultra Synthetic Filter. ENJOY!
I'm still currently driving my G35 btw, and yes it's an 05. Eh, who has the best interior is really subjective. BMW's interior is more ergonomic as Edmunds would say. Although, I don't think either of these two come close to Acura's interior.
@unknownunknowns I dont think we are on the same page here. Either way infiniti does have 400+ HP engines. The VK56DE makes 420/420, the 5.0L variant makes 390HP. All of infintis current engines besides the GT-R are naturally aspired. Sure bmw does have more 400+ hp engines but they have far more problems with their cars than infiniti. If you watch part 2 of this video the BMW fails to even complete the track run because of turbo issues (cooling).
I do agree with your comment, I have driven a 328i manual, 330i manual, 528i auto, and a 535i auto, and BMW builds great cars, however, i purchased a G35 and traded it for a G37, and to me the Infiniti is a better car, in terms of reliability, style, and maintanence. In my personal opinion, the BMW is over rated. I see them all the time in the shop for electrical problems, and they charge for every option instead of making some of them standard.
look, i own a 06' infinit g35 sittin on 20" tsw cardwells staggered fit, you can jump on that BMW bandwagon but Infiniti has stepped up with it's G models, it is a drift car its built for torque not top end speed thats why it has a low breaking threshold and comes with a short throw shifter and is easy to handle, i can personally say i wouldnt trade my G for BMW anyday soon
I've owned a G35 and three BMW's and the BMW is more refined and quiet with probably better handling, but they have a fragilty and unreliablility on small things that the Infiniti doesn't. The Infiniti also doesn't elicit the negative response from some other drivers the BMW does.
@unknownunknowns I agree with you about the 50:50 weight distribution and such but the 3.7L in the IPL makes 348HP with no forced induction. I think that is pretty good bhp/l. Also infiniti did (well nissan) did have a 3.0L TT which made 300HP as well. Except it was used in the mid-late 90's. VG30DETT was only used in the fair lady z and the 300zx but infiniti can make turbo engines. The difference is infiniti designs engines in favor of Performance + Reliability. BMW im not so sure
Max,get your facts straight. According to JD Power initial quality rankings from June 2008 shows Infiniti at #2 slot ahead of Lexus. BMW was ranked #21, just slightly ahead of GM. FYI.
As stock cars, they are really close. Anyone who says the comparison is one sided has obviously never driven both cars without bias or extreme personal taste. But I know exactly what you mean for the turbo for stock =] however for your point in tuning the car...both for tune potential and tune price, I don't think you want to compare 335i to g37x. A TT kit alone is 8k to boost g37 to 500hps, and a full kit with everything to match is 11k. Try tuning 335i to something similar...
@unknownunknowns Agreed but if yo look at the start of when infiniti started to be noticed it has always been more reliable than BMW (mostly) And that was in 2001. Nissan/Infinitis 3.0L VQ30DE made 227HP, no turbo, no forced induction. To this day that is still great HP/L.
@clarda1 Alright for a more serious analogy let's say there's a leak in your house which will cause toxic molds making the place uninhabitable. That's doesn't every house like your house has a leak. Both cars are great and I do desire the G37 more that's why I bought it and I must say I'm one of the very few people who mod their G37. Btw you save 8 grand does not mean they have 8 grand to go on a trip huge difference.
The G is the new savage on the block ! I’ll take my G any day over a B. VQ platform more reliable and easier so maintenance. #Gboyz#INFINITIboyz#VQboyz# N/A6SPEEDboyz
@BlooDBank101 I saw the new G37 sedan up close. It looks just like the later model G35 sedan. I think the only difference is that the G35 has the 3.5 V6 & the G37 sedan has the 3.7 V6 from the 370Z. But the appearance of the coupe version of the G35 & G37 are different. The G37 coupe looks bulkier & longer.
@21April853BC I drive a c300 and 335i. I did not mean to say that BMW or any other car manufacturer doesn't use plastic either. All I'm trying to say here is that the g37 use more of it thats all. Its still a nice car(my friend has a g37 as a matter of fact) but the interior could use just a little less plastic.
@shahin84 15k for a twin turbo and an extra second to 60.....yeah right, i was looking into the 3series as well but after i sat in my friends 09 g37 coupe, its like sitting in a jet plane cockpit
You need to update your pricings. Do you know how much the bmw goes up if both gets navigations or w.e unnecessary but useful stuffs? Last time I went, a new 328i with some features is the exact same as a packed g37x. And ur analogy is really bad if you know what you are talking about. G37x is a direct competitor to 335i. GTR and 430(should be 458tbh) are not even tho performance can be compared. G37 has more tune potential and cheaper tuning too. I love stock 335is tho, but more expensive.
I own a 2010 G37X coupe. Owned it for 6 months. Not a day goes by that I don't feel gratitude to this beautiful car. I get compliments often after I wash and wax it. I've never lost control even in the rain. I've had the back slide our a little but the VDC always catches it before it becomes dangerous. Overall a very safe, fun and powerful little sleeper. People who don't know JDMs are surprised when a stock 12 year old Infiniti takes their Ford Or GM sports coupe to Gapplebees.
@ariafreak actually is the opositte of what you think since dont matter how small the turbos are there is always lag, a NA engine should reach 0-60 in less time than a turbo 1 @ the same HP, still the 335i does it in faster time than the g37, and gets even worst after 60 MPH which the 335i starts pulling away even more, but if you put TT or single turbo on the 3.7 L V6 of the g37 it will get more HP since has bigger displacements( .7 L bigger than the 3.0 L inline 6)
true, however if Nissan ever decides to put the Skyline GTR engine into the G sedan (saloon), then that will really be a tough battle for BMW. Also, in my opinion, i think the Merc C63 AMG is better than the M3
@clarda1 OK, Infiniti has 400+ hp engines but at a larger displacement which interferes with the 50:50 weight distribution. So, BMW is ahead due to technology which can be flawed. I understand that the N54 has problems due to too much pressure from the dual turbos, perhaps. So, it looks like the N55 has fewer problems due to single twin scroll turbo which creates less pressure at lower revs, it seems, yet it still has 3.0 L at 300 hp. I think this because the fuel pump hasn't been redesigned.
The G37xs is $48,640. Mercedes C350 Sedan is 44,750. Honestly I was talking about coupes. 335i is 51k. Audi S4 is 54k. Plus there is a reason why such brands like BMW and Audi is SLIGHTLY more expensive even though the specs are similar. Just like how a ferrari 430 is more expensive than a brand new nissan GTR even though it's slower. Either way I don't know where you got 10-15k from theres no way a G37 with 320+hp is so cheap unless used.
I searched this channel but did not find anything on the G35 so not sure what he is talking about... Is he talking about a personal experience that was not on camera or what? I really wanted to see the G35 in comparison.
I have a question on bmw 335i is he using his dtc to give all the torque to the rear traction wheels that will make it easier to drift and give all that torque on the rear wheels
I had an 09 335i now I have a 12' g37x coupe. My infiniti is a better car in every aspect. Also the best part is my infiniti hasn't broken down. Wayyyy better car than my previous German crap
Who wants to deal with the laundry list of N54 issues? Not as many as you’d think once you have to pay for all of it. Sure, the G37 is less capable and tunable, but there’s value in not having to worry what’ll break next.
Rachelle B. Less tuneable, but just as capable in my opinion . With an HR, they are basically built engines compared to the G35 so if you turbo it, it cost a little money but it handles boost like a champ and can gap cars with ease
@clarda1 So, Infiniti made the 3.0L 300hp engine but what current engine compares to the n54/55? I don't know if that 3.7L in the IPL compares because Infiniti has a 3.5L engine that makes 300hp and both are NA.
@clarda1 Correct but by ur logic just because your brand new house has a faulty toilet that doesnt flush does not mean that every other house like yours has a toilet that doesnt flush. Its a defective 3 series theres no mass recall about the oil temps being too high these guys had the luck of having a BMW that wasnt built right. Correc me if im wrong but the price difference for the G37 and the 335i with similar options is about 8 grand...so drop in a TT and you be shitting on BMWS right? No
@ak15567 Correct but if you watch part 2 of the video the video the BMW does not even make it around the track without over heating. I would be hard pressed to push the turbos more when they are already having trouble. Since this video is already two years old i would hope they have fixed that issue. Either way I would take the extra .5 seconds to 60 and have far more reliability. and Correct me if i am wrong but with the price dif of the GF37 vs 335i i could buy a lot of mods for the G.
@ak15567 have you ever seen a toyota supra turbo making 1000+hp with the stock engine block? the 335i has a similar inline eninge to the supra, so I'd say it can handle alot of power. there are quite a few videos of modified 335i on youtube. look them up.
Everyone is saying the bmw is better cuz its faster, lets not forget people its only faster because it has a turbo, if it wasnt turbo that thing would be shit slow, the g37 is awesome in every single way AND it doesn't need a turbo to be faster, nothing beats the feel of a naturally aspirated engine, it just makes you feel like you are one with the machine
if you have ever driven a 335i you'd realize that bmw has engineered it for 0 turbo lag and if it wasn't turbo charged they would obviously make it a more powerful NA engine as bmw used to be known for. there's a reason that the bmw is called "the ultimate driving machine" bc i own a 335i and i can tell you that nothing makes you feel more in sync with your vehicle more than the bimmers do. my brother owns a g and i personally think the bmw blows the driving experience of a g out of the water.
Zac Sup my jobs salary can can help me pay for it and its been perfectly fine for 2 years so its well worth the small increase in maintenance cost to own the standard for a sports car
Zac Sup lol normally people are talking about the feel of a naturally aspirated v8 or more . Nobody says there's nothing better than the feel of their naturally aspirated v6 -_-
i just bought the infiniti g37 coupe 2010 and wow and is amazing the shifting is great it has awesome acceleration i also test drove the 370 z and the 335i but the g37 kills all of them :) but i dont know what rims i should get any suggestions?
@TheTopOfTheCrop Errrm I think you're wrong. The old G35 looks better than the 330ci with its dated rear end lights... But I guess it ultimately depends on individual taste.
@clarda1 The vast majority of people buying 3 series and G37's are either people who loans or finance it. You obviously dont modify a lease car so those people definitely dont do it. But for other people who finance G37's do not have 8 grand cash at hand ready to drop in a turbo or a supercharger hence you rarely see and G37 with forced induction. And, second of all it voids the warranty by heavily modding it who wants to void their warranty on their new car when they just financed it?
@clarda1 It took a turbocharger for BMW to create 300hp in a 3.0l engine while it took Infiniti an extra 0.5l to make 300hp. So how much hp would Infiniti have in 3.0l with its same tech? So, BMW can make an engine smaller and add forced induction while Infiniti can make that engine bigger with that same power, not a bad idea since there is more reliability but the auto world heading towards to more power in a smaller lighter displacement to satisfy the environmentalists and the enthusiasts.
Drove both in both couple and sedan forms. No doubt the Infiniti comes close to BMW's driving abilities but that is all I found in BMW's advantage. Interior was much better in Infiniti.
Uh, Infiniti is Japanese, not American... Having test driven both, I can tell you that I took the G37 over the 335i; money was not an issue. The interior of the Infiniti is FAR superior (in looks and functionality). The BMW interior looks like it's straight out of the 80's. Handling is also better in the G37, IMO. The only place that the 335i excels is in its awesome torque (it is FAST off the line!).
@unknownunknowns I suppose the vq35hr is a better comparison since it makes 309bhp. But i think the 3.7L is a good comparison, normally it makes 330hp not 348hp.
@jtbrindley2010 I figure they would offer it since both the 370Z & G37 are the same car. Its just that no magazines or videos ever say it does or does not have it.
@youngonesunique Well I bought mine used so thats a different story I guess. I was mainly saying the aftermarket bang for the buck is insane. $450- +80whp I've spent about $1200 on this car and am at 400 at the wheels. Easiest car to modify for awesome gains.
should i get the 2007 G35 weaker engine but same look and car, im not racing throught the streets all the time. or am i making a terrible mistake by not paying 4k more for the G37?
@Mr1wd Well ownership cost is lower then the BMW 3 series. Although BMW does have its 4 year/50K care free maintenance incentive, in the long run the G37 is more affordable to maintain opposed to the BMW, not to mention more reliable. I would know, I have both a 2007 BMW 328i and a 2009 Infiniti G37 sedan. My BMW warranty expires at the end of this year, I should expect to be paying $135 for an oil change very soon opposed to an $80 oil change for my Infiniti.

@@antgarza4031 I feel attacked
+Santosh Durai yes lol like every German car , just buy it with a warranty
+Santosh Durai Question! How does the 335i compare to the G when it comes to maintenance and reliability?
What maintenance have you done to keep your engine healthy?
Also as a side note I am incredibly jealous and now find myself wanting a 350z even though I never have before. That motor and trans is just flawless.
The Infiniti/BMW hate is very strong still lol
BMW drivers hate on this car because it gives the 300 hp 2 door coupes a major run for it's money for much cheaper (well when it was new because unlike the BMW this Infiniti decently holds its value)
I been fortunate enough to own one G35 & two G37S, and currently own a BMW 535I.
The G37S is my favorite car I have ever owned, very sporty, great handling, govehicle! So much fun to play with, only complaint is that I m a big guy 260 lbs. and the bottom seat cushion siding digs into your thighs which you notice after about an hour of driving.
This is why I switched to the BMW 535I M Sport
Not even close in the handling and a bit less power than the G37, but a car that has a larger wider cabin, and more comfortable seats.
10 years later still the absolute best in the game
Downsides to the g37- expensive to buy relatively new, interior doesnt age well at all, steering feedback is bad, all the power is at a high rpm, hard to find in a manual, slightly slower than the 335.
Upsides to g37- reliability is better, maintenance is cheaper, stock for stock the exhaust sounds much better, optioning it out is cheaper.
Downsides to 335i-interior is more dated, the stock staggered tires make it understeer more often, doesnt sound as good stock, maintenance is expensive, lots of early models have expensive issues
Upsides-interior holds together well over time (leather doesnt crack), the paint job ages better, heaps of torque and power all throughout the rev range thanks to turbos, slightly quicker stock, easy and cheap to get power out of, steering feedback is heavy but rediculously good, handling is a bit better.
Conclusion, the g37 has 85% of the performance the 335i has without all the issues
You do realize the g37 shares the same steering column with the 370z right?
13 years later, your name is very fitting. 335is went kaboom fast lol.
N54 = more powerful and a tuner car
VQ = more reliable, NA power. The powerful car that you can daily.
Id love to have a g37 to drive to work and stuff and a 335i parked in the garage to make fast for the weekends. Both amazing cars
Glad you said this
Bolt on and tune they are the same.. and Id way rather boost a vq than go big turbo on a n54/55
Yes, the overheating issue is still an issue, but to be honest only for track work on a hot day. 335i brakes are the real track issue, well that and no LSD.
signed,
owner of 2 335i's and a G37S
We are family owners of both a 2008 335i coupe a 2010 G37 sedan. Both vehicles are the best performing sedan & coupes in their class, the IS, C-class and Audi A4 fail to compare with the over all driving dynamics of both the Infiniti & BMW. I love both cars, the 335i is involving to drive while the G37 amuses you. The only person who would say any different is an owner of solely a BMW and have only owned one side of the spectrum. Coming from a loyal BMW customer, the Infiniti is fantastic!
I've owned both and love both but I love the throaty engine of the g37
I just bought 2009 g37x and I’m loving this car so much it’s a beast
Crazy how this is the generation when the “skyline” became a pure, n/a driving experience and the 3 series became a behemoth tuner car. The tables basically turned
Cool race! Gotta say the Infiniti won fair and square
i own a g35 i bought it in 2003 when they first came out my buddy that year bought a bmw 328 and he has had nothing but problems i currently have 82k miles on it and i havent not had to replace one thing except tires and brakes. not one other problem i love it
Whenever the G37 is sliding, the 335i just grips and grips....so composed
The g37 is basically the 370z with 4 seats or a gtr with no turbo
Just picked up a new 2010 G37 Coupe three days ago. All I can say is WOW! I've had a G35 Sedan for the last 6 years. I absolutely loved it. I never had a problem with the car and it was so much fun to drive. This new G37 blows it away, both in driving and power. I could not be happier with this car. I've owned BMW's in the past. I have no problem with BMW other than annoying problems I had with mine. For thousands less, and IMO better reliability, I'll stick with Infiniti.
You can really hear the g-force in his voice. 6:22 No, the kudos go to Nissan, this is a Skyline 370GT.
About to buy an used 2010 G37S Premium Coupe with big brakes, active diff and AWS with 100.000 miles on it.... something I HAVE to check?
If you watch part 2 of this video the BMW fails to even complete the track run because of turbo issues (cooling).
did we not watch the video? lol.. the bmw didnt even finish the race without having mechanical issues. thats why you can buy a used 335 for 4 racks.
I bet Andy Kaladjian will fix it gratis
G37 coupe is reliable, looks great, powerful and best grip on Road
Except for suspension parts yea there pretty good 😂
Maybe I hit turn to hard tho🤷🏽♂️
I've owned a G35 and three BMW's and the BMW is more refined and quiet with probably better handling, but they have a fragilty and unreliablility on small things that the Infiniti doesn't. The Infiniti also doesn't elicit the negative response from some other drivers the BMW does.
G37 all day looks better sounds better drives better. The 3 series is a wart
Lol you're an idiot.
Except it costs more, is slower, sounds like a fart, and loses its rear end because of no LSD. You're a nut rider.
+Jay Ray you'll be paying a shit ton more on that 335 just to get it in somewhat working condition
remember when BMW drivers didn't rely on understeer?
@@ZacSup the n54 is a way better engine than that pos vq37. overpriced datsun.
Depends, you can get a used infinity for much cheaper and the cost of repairs are alot cheaper!
I have a an 05' G35 sport and I love it!!! I do also love BMW but this test proves how Infiniti is so much better than the 335i, Infiniti FTW!!!!!!
#Gboyz#INFINITIboyz#VQboyz#
N/A6SPEEDboyz
G gang 🤣✊🏽
Shut up kid
Homer Thompson WoW we got Homer Simpson on the chann! Pic looks like you have COVID ! Hope you get the Vaccine
LOL BMW could use less plastic in their engine bay. All German cars start to fall apart at 100k.
G35-G37 are skylines, it's the G series.
i love this course, my friends with evo's put about 40psi and in the rear tires and drive them like rear real drive
Watching this video gets me so pumped up - wish i had a loaner track toy right now ;)
true, however if Nissan ever decides to put the Skyline GTR engine into the G sedan (saloon), then that will really be a tough battle for BMW. Also, in my opinion, i think the Merc C63 AMG is better than the M3
The ATS is also one of the top contenders of this segment nowadays too!
This how I push it to work everyday since 2015
@clarda1 OK, Infiniti has 400+ hp engines but at a larger displacement which interferes with the 50:50 weight distribution.
Love both of these cars owned them both too 😅
Which 1 you like better though?
Who wants to deal with the laundry list of N54 issues? Not as many as you’d think once you have to pay for all of it. Sure, the G37 is less capable and tunable, but there’s value in not having to worry what’ll break next.
Rachelle B. Less tuneable, but just as capable in my opinion . With an HR, they are basically built engines compared to the G35 so if you turbo it, it cost a little money but it handles boost like a champ and can gap cars with ease
G is very tuneable and much cheaper than doing it on a BMW. BMW are junk. Once you warranty goes... sell it or you are boned.
@clarda1 So, Infiniti made the 3.0L 300hp engine but what current engine compares to the n54/55? I don't know if that 3.7L in the IPL compares because Infiniti has a 3.5L engine that makes 300hp and both are NA.
10 years old 😳
Still an awesome car and probably still on the road unlike the BMW. I say that as a previous BMW owner and current G37 owner.
+Connor Slavin maybe, until your taking the 335 to the shop repeatedly after it keeps breaking down 😊
Zac Sup my jobs salary can can help me pay for it and its been perfectly fine for 2 years so its well worth the small increase in maintenance cost to own the standard for a sports car
Zac Sup lol normally people are talking about the feel of a naturally aspirated v8 or more . Nobody says there's nothing better than the feel of their naturally aspirated v6 -_-
its a 3.7 litre v6 mind you.... ive monstered v8 cars in my g37x
@darude505 ya but the 370 z has problems with there brakes and the g37 has more torque and 30 more hp than the 370
i just bought the infiniti g37 coupe 2010 and wow and is amazing the shifting is great it has awesome acceleration i also test drove the 370 z and the 335i but the g37 kills all of them :) but i dont know what rims i should get any suggestions?
Torque steer is only possible with Front wheel drive. As you know all BMW's are REAR wheel or all wheel drive.
That is the G37S. They mention it in the video
There will be both - Infinity GTR and sport saloon based on Nissan GTR.
I live in a region of Canada where we get about 4 months of snow, so the xdrive works well for me
I had to make this really tough decision as well. I went for the G because I like the interior better and it had more power. Imma guy I like power
@unknownunknowns I suppose the vq35hr is a better comparison since it makes 309bhp. But i think the 3.7L is a good comparison, normally it makes 330hp not 348hp.
@SteveBKNY
Why than they never face R8 with 335i?
Because those are compleatly different cars, so its hard to compare them
@jtbrindley2010 I figure they would offer it since both the 370Z & G37 are the same car. Its just that no magazines or videos ever say it does or does not have it.
@youngonesunique
Well I bought mine used so thats a different story I guess.
I was mainly saying the aftermarket bang for the buck is insane.
$450- +80whp
I've spent about $1200 on this car and am at 400 at the wheels.
Easiest car to modify for awesome gains.
I'm wondering how my g35 would compare to the g37 on a track, I have the package with Brembo brakes and a stiffened suspension.
should i get the 2007 G35 weaker engine but same look and car, im not racing throught the streets all the time. or am i making a terrible mistake by not paying 4k more for the G37?
@Mr1wd Well ownership cost is lower then the BMW 3 series. Although BMW does have its 4 year/50K care free maintenance incentive, in the long run the G37 is more affordable to maintain opposed to the BMW, not to mention more reliable. I would know, I have both a 2007 BMW 328i and a 2009 Infiniti G37 sedan. My BMW warranty expires at the end of this year, I should expect to be paying $135 for an oil change very soon opposed to an $80 oil change for my Infiniti.
actually i love bmw have owned many of them and i just bought a G37s
