Weber 26” Kettle

- If you have a ton of people to grill for or want to smoke a big brisket, then the 26” Weber kettle might be the grill you are looking for. Years ago, I started grilling on a 14” Smokey Joe, which was fine for a steak or a couple of burgers. I then moved up a bunch of 22” kettles, and now I have the 26” kettle in Smoke Grey. I haven’t cooked on it yet, but I’m guessing I could fit 70 wings or 40 burgers in the 508 sq inches of cooking space.
You don’t really need to burn-in or season a new Weber kettle, but I’m always looking for an excuse to use my torch. I’m not sure exactly how hot it gets, but it’s something like 700+ degrees, so I just did a quick pass over all the parts to get rid of any residue or debris.
It’s a master-touch model, which means it comes with the ash catcher bowl, standard wheels, a nicer vent handle, a standard thermometer and a tuck-away lid holder.
The included grate is called the Weber crafted system, which is a gourmet grate with the 12” inch center circle grate, but also includes a 16” square cut out that allows you to drop in accessories, like this sear grate, and a grilling basket. They also have a griddle, pizza stone and a wok. The charcoal grate alone is 22”.
My first cook on this thing is going to be a 17lb Creekstone brisket from Crowd Cow using the snake method, so stay tuned for that.

She’s a beaut Clark. Seriously tho, I have this same grill and it’s simply all I need. 5 years with it and we have made everything from wings to brisket. Sometimes simple is better. Enjoy dude!
"I bet you could use a cool one..."
Bravo on the Cousin Eddie line
Someone please tell Weber to sponsor this guy 🔥🔥🔥
👊🏼
Super nice!
That's my next one, hopefully this spring.
I've done 14lb brisket on a 22" kettle with the snake, and it came out fantastic!
What crafted insert would you go with? I like the sear grate will probably get the wok too.
I have a 26" from two years ago. You really don't appreciate the difference in size until you see it next to your 22".
My real problem is deciding which 22” inch to let go of. 😂
@@backyahdbbq who said you have to let them go? Of course if you are friends with someone who doesn't grill yet and plan on teaching them or are trying to help out a family... that is a good cause.
That's awesome bro! I also have the smokey Joe, 18in kettle and the 22in.
Need to upgrade lol!! I like all the accessories
NICELY DONE.
🤜🏼
Just turn my notifications on for you my boy ! Looking forward to the brisket video
Cool. Working through the footage. Should be up soon.
Looks nice man. Look forward too the brisket video
Thanks man. I just did the trim, slather, and rub. Smoking it tomorrow.
Agent 47 your mission if you choose to accept it is to burn off any residue on this badass grill❤
I have a 22” and love it, but nevertheless, always feel like I could use those extra few inches when I come across a big brisket or want to fit a few slabs of ribs.
Same. It’s fits a 17lb brisket pretty well.
All those doodads are nice, but you need the Slow & Sear if you want to do a whole brisket on that thing.
Funny you use your torch to torch everything I just light a fire and let it get seasoned from the charcoal. I put enough charcoal in there to cover the whole shebang😂
PK grill bois have entered the chat. 😂😂
I was looking at the 22-in with the ash catch cup the one with the handle but $400 Canadian is steep for me
I own the 26"Weber! Love it. Too bad they stopped making them! Can't find accessories made for them. Bad move Weber!
What brand of tourch is that?
Brah, that torch though
Look at all those accessories
Man this thing is very tempting. I’m between this and the new Weber searwood xl
I have both. Depends on how important charcoal wood is to you and how much time to you have to babysit cooks. Ask any questions…
ok let me give some context. for me I do like 70/30 grilling/smoking. It’s mainly carne asada so lots of high heat grilling. Maybe 3 times a year I’ll smoke a brisket/pork butt so my heart says go with the kettle since it should be a lot better for grilling.
I’ve never had anything besides charcoal but the idea of being able to just set it and forget it sounds awesome to me with a pellet grill.
The more I type the more I’m realizing I should probably go with the kettle since I’m sure I’ll miss the charcoal flavor lol
I do have a question for the kettle. How much do you have to babysit it when smoking? I’ve used a WSM and once I got it dialed in I can go to bed (set a temp probe with alarm if it goes below 225 or above 275, rarely woke me up)
I’d go Kettle and a 22” WSM. Yes you “can” smoke on a Kettle but I would never choose to if I have a WSM. You can WSMs cheap on OfferUp etc. The pellet is convenient for sure, but I’ve only used pellet a handful of times. I did like just setting temp. Good for busy days. The trick I’m finding is starting really low temp on a pellet makes a huge difference in flavor. It will never be wood/charcoal but it’s also not trying to be.
As far as babysitting kettle goes. You have to monitor temps throughout. The weather where I am is very unpredictable so yours might be different. If you setup the snake right it can go for hours at a consistent temp.
@@backyahdbbq thank you will do! And since the 26 is a lot cheaper I’ll also be able to buy some of the Weber crafted items like the searing grate. I already have a Wsm 22. Was hoping to consolidate into 1 unit only but I might just keep it tucked away at the side of the house while not in use so my wife doesn’t get annoyed since we have a small back patio 😂
started on a Joe, and currently have 2 22s considering a 3rd because the 26 is just a stupid price here
Greatness!
I just want to be the next door neighbor! :)
Where did you get the cast iron center section?
backyahdbbq.com/gear/?s=crafted
How much for all the extras?
backyahdbbq.com/gear/?s=crafted
$100 each
Maybe like 200 wings
Why stop there? 😂
Buddy,, if u get 40 burgers on that, then my whole life is a lie
Ok adulthood hit. 😢 Why do I want one
Do it!
@@backyahdbbq you are a bad influence. I need more people like you
😂
This is new!?
Master touch version yeah
junk
These are pure junk. I use to assemble them at ace hardware. Made of cheap china made plastic wheels and lost boots don't even line up. So many come in defective.
Hmm. Mine is working out great 👍🏼. Did you ask Weber about that?
@@backyahdbbq they make so many at a time they don't care. The wheels are the cheapest parts. Press on caps for nuts. The lid and bottom are all that's worth anything.
