I have a 2016 piu and I took out the plastic insert, taped the back, used bondo to fill the holes, sanded and painted and it looks brand new. It was time consuming but it looks stock.
OK, love it, I said I'd buy one when they come out and I'm a man of my word. About to order one now. Thank you! I may end up running a bead of superglue around the edges, or using a very thin velcro to keep it stuck down and still allow it to be removed for cleaning, but whatever I decide I love the concept and am looking forward to it! I previously sanded my insert down, filled it with body putty (except the big center hole, and painted it but it still doesn't look great.
Thanks a ton! Let me know how the alternative mounting works out for you. I was debating using double sided tape first but I don't think it would last and it would be a one-time install instead of being able to remove and clean.
Do you make something similar for the 2020 fpiu?
I was very lucky to get one for free in pristine condition. Guy was even kind enough to ship it to me. I offered to pay, he said I could have it. My old one had holes and this mat and was super glued and it literally melted to the plastic. Looked super ugly.
