In regards to the fob programing I can confirm that the car needs to be out of dark car mode in order to program a fob. Once out of it you can program it and then switch it back into dark car mode.

That’s not true either, in order to program key fobs go through for scan to BCM and edit the remote keyless entry to (enable)

How do we switch it back and forth from dark car mode?
Should’ve done the black for the trim around the console and head unit. And swap out the steering wheel to the black ford flex one to match;)

I enabled in FORScan to have DRLs on, with parking lights and headlights enabled, so when I start my car the parking lights come on, and as soon as it’s in gear the headlights turn on, and when I put it in park the headlights shut off, without replacing the switch. I just leave it in the Off position.
This is just the channel I was looking for to help fix up my interceptor! Thanks! Oh, and if you haven't found that black panel, you can have mine!

I have a 2013 Explorer police Interceptor, I'm installing 2011 Explorer front leather seats without memory or heated/air-conditioned.
Driver seat was plug and play everything works . Passenger seat is my issue . How do I power up the seat ? What color wire feeds the switch on the Passenger side??
Where did you find the center console? Or did I Miss that part. I'm looking to get me an fpiu and make it comfy. I'm going to be checking all your videos. This is awesome
I regularly check my local salvage yards and FB marketplace for Explorer part outs.
Do you have the ability to 3d print the trim piece that goes above the two 12v plugs on the FPIU?
Just blanks, no USB or " Line in" holes
with enabling keys theirs a couple of things in forscan that you have to enable then you twist the keys to off and on 8 times on the last time you leave it on but it only works with the 2012-2015 year explorer 2016 and up they change it the only way on the 16 and up is to use ford ids to program keys and remote start
So if I have a 2016, how can I get a remote entry key?
@@lizcorleto you can buy any key but you still need to program it through ford ids or take it to a dealer should be around 200 dollars thanks to ford 2015 was the last year that you didn't need ford ids to program key fobs
I'd like to know, where did you get the floor mats? I'm looking online, but cant seem to find good ones for my 2016.
Have you considered moving the column shifter to a floor mounted shifter? I've seen it done a few times. Remote start is very simple on 2013-2015, add a hood switch and turn it on in FORScan.

Love the videos. Let me know if you have any questions about remote start. It just takes the safety switch under the hood, forscan and a compatible key with the remote start button.
Also, what usb did you use for the back of your console. I have some already but I like that yours have the power on/off switch.

When you were looking at vinyl wrap, did you find any metallic silver wrap that matches the door and glove box trim? Mine isn't quite chrome but a shiny steel/dark aluminum color and it might be cool to have the console/radio trim a matching shiny trim. I've been looking for some metallic paint or vinyl that might be close in color to that, but I might just go the silver vinyl route as you did for a quick solution to hide the Gear selector letters.
I really wasn't looking for anything other than the color of the console. I did find that the pictures online can be very different than what it actually looks like. Since we have Amazon Prime I would order ones that looked right in the picture then returned them if they were not accurate. Took about 4-5 tries. It was worth the trial and error though, it looks factory now. Also I would say that if it is not a 3M material, It's probably going to be hard to work with and get the bubbles out. The 3M lays like glass.@@bcorkill
Hi there, can you PLEASE do a tutorial on what to do if interior lights are not working when not in Dark Mode (courtesy lighting), and manually. Door lights and overhead headliner lights don't work. 2013 ford explorer PIU
Sounds like either fuses or improper forescan settings. You can pull the A-pillar trim on the drivers side and find the plug for the headliner. You can use a multimeter to test if you are getting any current to those wires. I would check the fuses first.

Nice videos, I am a fan of your work since I have a 2015 Ford PIU that i have been working on as well. It has a 2013 center console. I also installed a remote start kit from 12 volt solutions. They have great kits. I have have a question for you though. Can you make a shifter pocket filler that has a phone mount attached to it similar to your backup camera mount?

Yes, I did it on day one. However I did not make a video on it. It has already been done
Do you know how to unlock liftgate with key fob mines was working but idk what happen now it’s not
