I've said it before and I'll say it again they have the best broadcast team they're quick witted, funny, and dedicated to their craft and they deserve some love lets hear it for the broadcast crew
minty citrus one like xD
minty citrus All the same crew....
This might be the hackiest comment in the history of the internet. "Let's hear it for the crew"
I've said it before and I'll say it again, a round of applause for the janitor, guys, come on, without him we'd have to shit in dirty toilets. Now come on guys, let's hear it for the sound guy, without him there would be no sound, woo yeah, go sound guy woo. Can we all take a moment to appreciate the armed forces too? And Kangaroos? Wooo Kangaroos! Yeah woo!
Orlando Trustfull I find it genuinely funny that you're kind of shitting on him for thanking the broadcast crew. The last part of his comment was not great though.
Look at them using a model in the thumbnail to get those extra views
lololol
I got you bud
It totally worked :)
Oof that didn't age well

And I am now that much more smart because of you

I love Michael for things like today's rant about people that complain about art. Artists are people, too, and it's a legitimate profession. It's also a very hard one to do well in. The charge is for a luxury item, and the work that is put into it. It's very easy to not pay money for art, or find a better price in the marketplace... the same with any other luxury item, and some necessities.
Li Allen People will pay hundreds of dollars for the newest Jordans that were made in the thousands in some assembly line in China, but god forbid you buy a piece of art or something of good craftsmanship that someone spent time on for the same amount lol.
Yeah, anybody who suggests that they will 'pay' an artist with 'exposure' should be GIVEN 'exposure.' To the elements. Till they die.
I agree with everything Michael said, but...it's like he doesn't understand the concept of trolls. Anyone complaining about how he spends his money is either 1. A troll or 2. A fucking idiot. Either way they don't matter, and aren't worth his time.
I'm sure he understands the concept of trolls, but having worked with/around art communities online, the disturbing part is people DO think like that, legitimately, making the only 'troll' skillset required being the act of mimicry. And I doubt they are realistically worth his time - he pointed out this happens every time he makes a comment/tweet about stuff like that on social media.
I get the impression he brought it up because he's both amused and disappointed at the phenomenon. But I could be missing context - communication sure is weird!
(DISCLAIMER: Parting note on communication may be entirely facetious, and was included for topical humor to the greater episode as it stands. If you find yourself taking it seriously, please consult... uh. Huh. Awkward. Good luck, buddy!)
Temet Nosce no, people actually think like this. Do you know how many times people come to me with an idea for a drawing they want and the dimensions and media they want it in, then when told how much I would charge them for it go, "you're going to charge me?" Or, "wow that's a little steep," or somewhere along those lines. As much as I wish it was just trolls trying to get a rise out of artists and people purchasing art or people who are just ignorant to the art trade (or just business deals in general) there are legitimate people who don't find the value an artist and their art has, or just refuse to see it.
edited because 🤮🤮
CupcakeandDuckie Mad king's roulette?
100% with Michael on the rant, especially when it comes to art. People who expect that an artist of any kind should just do something for them "for the exposure" have no fucking clue about how much time and effort goes into it. "Oh it's just a drawing", yeah, someone should spend hours and hours of their time on their work just for you, and maybe they need money from commissions to support themselves and for the work itself, but no, you should get it for free. It's like this article I saw where someone tried to get a coder to do work for them "for exposure" and being surprised when they asked to be paid. Is it so hard to understand how business works? People who provide a service don't do it for fucking free. You pay for a service. Paying for a digital image, a painting, or what have you, is just the same as paying someone to repair your car, fix your plumbing, or what have you.
HOLY SHIT TREVOR'S HAIR but also i'm living for this new thing of Ryan wearing hats backwards. LIVING FOR IT.
one step closer to treyco malfoy
Jenna Belle my favourite comment ❤️
Jenna Belle of
Wait until his father hears about this.
Trevor realizing that shot took him to an alternate dimension @40:18 😂😂😂 Poor guy
Can we all admit now, this is better than the RT podcast.
FARSHA8D well, in general, no,in terms of the latest ones, abso-fucking-lutely
FARSHA8D
No-one argued in the first place
nope. RT podcast still better
qazxswfr In terms of people talking and staying on track RT podcast is better. In terms of comedy? Absolutely not.
nicholis ling well it is called "off topic"
This podcast is 50% drinking and 50% talking about a controller. 😂😂😂 I love you guys
Micheal's right, he's paying for art. The mona lisa is worth 800mil but that's not how much the materials cost, i think that's the point he was trying to get across.
Michael Jones, thank you for acknowledging us artists and the shit we go through. It means the world. Thank you.
FAHC Journals when does he get in to it?
or you could just get a job like everyone else and not be self entitled pricks o3o
@@hecticscone It's a job, they're paid for it and they've worked hard to be employable. Go back to the 1950s
@@hecticscone fuck you guy
"It'S jUsT a PiCtuRe! WHy dO yOu dEmANd mOnEY foR iT?"
Aleks from cow chop is guest starting!
oh my God they actually made that joke
I'm jumping on the bandwagon of, Ryan looks insanely hot with his hat backwards and I'm gonna try to not swoon over a married man about 10+ years older than me.
punk0devil I feel you
Right there with you
what..... the.... fuck...
lol 😂😂😂
Ryan is very attractive and it's 100% okay to think that. It's no different then thinking celebrities are sexy.
I went through a OMG I'm obsessed with Ryan phase a couple weeks ago and I went through that phase for gav Michael and Trevor to
Siding with Michael on the controllers. They are more than just a controller...they are a work of art that he collects.
EDIT: Don't label an entire generation though because a portion acts that way. My oldest daughter is a 23 yr old millennial as is her boyfriend. They live together, are paying off a mortgage on a home, own one car and buying another, both work full time, both are putting themselves through college...they've never been late on any payment. I honestly have yet to meet a "lazy millennial". I have encountered people of all ages that have the "I want it now and I want it for free" mentality though.
The Let's Play comment section is full of us shitty millenials if you've never met one. Try having a logical discussion with one that doesn't agree with something.
Shitty millenial here lol. I have to side with Michael even if the custom controller isn't really my thing.
If someone spent time and effort and resources on something, then goddammit they deserve to benefit or profit from it. Yes, the custom design is a luxury but so is the base controller and the game console it's compatible with and so long as the transaction benefits everyone, I have not problem with it.
Sean Dionisio lol love the blanket blame on all millennials you do know that people in their 30s can be a millennial right? just say young kids
I'm with you 100% percent on the paying for quality of a product. As long as you're paying for the things you definitely should be paying for, the expendable income is yours to choose what to buy with it. Some people buy custom controllers, some buy art in either digital or physical form, some spend it on luxurious vacations. If you feel like you're getting something worth what you paid, then it's not ridiculous. Especially because that isn't even that extravagant. There was a gold plated either Playstation or Xbox that cost about $10K that seemed pretty damn wasteful, but this is just a little extra and you getting custom work done on the controller. Some people seem to have trouble grasping that other people find things more valuable than others. I can't justify myself spending money on a Keurig, but I understand that it's worth it to other people that feel it's value is that much.
First Law of Collectibles: "A thing is worth what someone is willing to pay for it." If someone wants it enough to pay a lot for it, great. It's worth that much, to them at least. If you offer something for a higher value than anyone is willing to pay, you WON'T sell it, because it's not worth that price.
or, y'know, donate your expendable income to charity or homeless shelters like a decent human being instead of just getting the newest hottest trendiest worthless piece of plastic
everyone's talking about Trevor's hair but they missed one of the best things i've ever heard "Everyone's got their hand out but no one's willing to spend"
I know I maybe late on this but the conversation about the controllers and etc is AMAZING. Hands down everyone who has a problem with something like that, you need to watch it and have an open mind because its a great insight. I appreciate AH. Deeply Thank you guys.
The nicest and rarely ranted about thing is commissions and you all laid it down so well! Cause if the actual artist such as I try and explain that my work is a bit more than you think, they get so pissy. This was the first video I watched from you guys in a long while and it did not disappoint
Are the Off-Topic titles just going to be based off Its Always Sunny titles? I'm fine with this
First America's gun problem now this? Those Achievement Hunter boys work miracles.
I heard they have a self sustaining economy too
This was a great podcast! I'm in total agreement with the guys about paying for art. You make your own money, you get to spend it on what you want. Clever on the abrupt ending! Thanks for coming in during your sabbatical, Geoff!
Thank you for supporting artists, Michael (and the rest of the crew, of course). As a musician I appreciate your rant.
I agree with Michael so much on the colors are situation because it's $80 for the base controller and he's basically paying $120 for the labor, materials, and time they use to make the controller. And this is coming from a millenial.
*insert On The Spot theme*
Trevor's Face at the Monster Shot and his "What the fuck?" I am dying right now.
Thanks for your rant on artists and value, Michael. It's seriously nice and refreshing to hear a logical opinion fully fleshed out and explained without being constantly destroyed and interrupted by inexperienced people. This is why I seriously appreciate this podcast; those on it can voice their opinions and explain why they think what they do.
Jack looks fucking good dude.
less than a minute after upload I'm ready to spend 2 hours of my day on this video. already got the popcorn
As an artist I understand exactly what your talking about. Lots of people under appreciate art. I am glad you guys actually understand and appreciate the art that people make. And the hard work that goes into making it.
xStarryKnightx Same
Michaels rant about twitter people was very good and accurate
God I love it when Michael rants about stuff, it's so great.
1:27:35
44:37 one of the best Trevor moments 😂😂
Michaels controller rant deserves my like haha I love it Michael you make so much sense!!!
I love this podcast so much. Always entertaining no matter the subject or person involved. And Jeremy Roulette shots edition? Yes please.
It must be hard for Michael to have so many people managing his bank account
a flail is a the weapon with a ball and chain attached to a handle.
a mace is a weapon with a spiked (it doesn't have to be spiked) ball attached to a handle.
just for people who want weapon knowledge.
swiftas thewind A (Egyptian) flail was also used by Pharaohs. just for anyone interested in useless knowledge.
swiftas thewind a spiked mace is also referred to as a morningstar
swiftas thewind also maces were typically used by priests, not the kind in monasteries, but the kind that blesses the soldiers and joins them in battle
Jacob, more random knowledge, although they did typically use maces, they were by no means prevented from using swords or other bladed weapons. That was actually a game balancing rule started by D&D, and became something of a pop culture law for priests that never actually existed.
That ending had me laughing way harder than I should've been
1:35:01 - 1:36:01
YES Michael! As someone who works freelance in media, you hit the nail dead on about clients and people unwilling to pay for art because they don't see the value in the hard work.
It's Treyco Malfoy.
Trevor looks like he belongs on the cast of 13 Reasons Why
ThtNotSoAvgT Trevor Standall
ThtNotSoAvgT That's right Trevor...this is your tape
Tony Collins anyone?
Michael's "I put de drugs in de pudding" was the funniest thing I've experienced in months.
Theres just something so wholesome about Geoff showing up just to say hey this game is fun come play with me
micheal.... i fucking love you, i make zelda music boxes and alot of other random things i make and i get ripped apart for telling some one no im not going to sell you 5 hours of work for $5
Sillyzombie666 ........ zelda music boxes you say?
give or take $70, i have videos of them on my channel, i have 7 boxes i need to finish, just need to paint seal coat them and add electronics to em. my etsy shop is linked on my youtube page
oddly im just seing this comment but yes look on my youtube channel for info or my etsy which is linked there
I love how they actually blocked out jeremy for awhile
As an arty person in the internet, the whole Twitter exchange and the discussion in this podcast make me admire this group so much. Thank you! (Although I might be part of the group that undersells themselves...oops)
I love how Ryan, the ONE guy on the show who doesn't drink is the guy who's making the drinks for the Roulette.
Oh god Trevor. Why.
he is embracing the malfoy in him lol
He looks like the elf fanboy from oblivion.
What did Jeremy do?
Oh man..... "He looks like the elf fanboy from Oblivion" ..... Oh shit.... Bud..... Full spit-take.... Hats off to you muh dude.
He needs to put some lavender dye in it to neutralize the yellows. It would look more platinum and less gross piss yellow.
I completely agree with Michael on the whole controller arguement. First off, video games in general are a luxury item. We have the luxury of buying boxes and play games. We don't need them. We have that luxury. Not everyone plays video games. We can have even more luxury by buying more expensive versions of these items, which is why there are differenet types of consoles/controllers/etc for us to purchase. Some people can only afford a small car while some can afford bugattis. Sure the people that have money could only buy the small cars but they enjoy their expensive luxury cars. I don't need anything other than a generic controller to play xbox but I went out and got a controller that was personalized with paddles because it is something that I wanted for myself. Its a luxury item.
The one thing I like about RUclips is that it lets me skip over the advertisements Michael does
Very enlightening argument by Michael here, I was on the fence reading only the twitter arguments before hand. Thanks mjones
Trevor is really growing on me now.
15:01
:^)

It never ends!
I love michael's rant in this episode, it's bloody amazing
Michael's defense and support of artists brought me to happy tears. Thank you, Michael.
1:05:11 *hears Heather Chandler saying 'YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!'*
I've never heard of the term nips used for miniature bottles, I live near Niagara falls
Ryan's argument on communication over text versus in real life is so true
the timing on that ending was perfect
Podcast tactic: make Trevor dye his hair so nobody in the comments section will comment about anything else going on
especially when one of the cameras went upside down
If anyone promises exposure for your work... run and hide kid, run and hide.
I've only seen one person play the tell take game, I'm glad to see the achievement hunter lads to do it lol.
The discussion about paying artists a fair price is such a relief to hear, I'm a photographer and the amount of times people belittle my work and try to get freebies off me when my equipment and software has literally cost me hundreds
TREVOR- it was like a tour de flavours. i got grape first and then it just tasted like vomit.
The two stop tour of a champion
See the one with the blonde hair, mom? Yea, he went to college for science. Don't judge me
I love the mom and pop diners with those pitchers. It's nostalgic to me
Its funny when even Michael is like wow its getting pretty drinky
I love when they tell the audience off. Educating the kids.
kiddies gotta be put in their place sometimes
Trevor's funny as fuck. Case in point 1:44:29
JEREMY.
THANK YOU.
You know 100% what is important for paying properly for artwork!! THANK YOU.
Trevor is my favorite, he's always so happy and jolly
Do some people not realize that controllers, or all gaming peripherals in general, are an investment? you spend however much money but you get a product that you'll probably use for years.
Most people look odd when they dye their hair, but Trevor still manages to be infuriatingly attractive.
I think he looks like the Adoring Fan from Oblivion.
Spanish Inquisition I mean, I don't think the Adoring Fan is that good looking, but you do you.
ryan really looks like a dad i like it
Off Topic coming at ya with the That 70's Show style titles, fuck yea dood
The last time I drank before knowing I had to quit was when I drank 350ml of 151 proof rum in less than 2 hours and only got tipsy. Then woke up the next day pretty much fine with no hangover.
Also, as for the paying for something you enjoy, I've commissioned for both a real sword and cosplay variant for around $800. Took me a year to save up the money but they were absolutely worth it. I could never make them and the quality was truly astounding. In the end both items have brought me enjoyment and everyone who saw them loved it.
Fwazangalang Entertainment It's just crazy to hear how some people are so concerned on how Michael spends his own money. I don't care how he spends his money, because it's not my money.
Mind Eraser, also known as the
Cosby
dude!!! thank you Michael!!! i had no clue colorware was a thing until i saw the whole of this video. just purchased my very own custom candy apple red controller and one for my brother for his birthday. for those who have a problem with it, take it up with someone who cares.
I love all y'all. Thanks AH.
Jeremy is on point about nips, everyone in Southeast Mass that I know calls those mini-bottles "nips"
That thumbnail is fantastic.
This episode actually opened me eyes. I never thought of the whole buying thing being that big a deal before, but now that I think about it, I would be extremely shocked about a $200 purchase. But, the way you guys put it, it makes a lot of sense. Hmmm, I learned something from OffTopic. Thanks!
- A Milennial
lol I got you Jeremy, the Family Guy condensation reference.
Ryan for pres 2020
treco still looking fit though
Today is my 18th birthday and I'm watching off topic eating red lobster chedder biscuits my birthday is perfect thank you achievement hunter.
Trevor, thank you. I needed a laugh today :)
Trevor looks like Trevor, except he dyed his hair
He doesn't look worse or weird, he's an adult that is capable of his own decisions.
25:00 is when they play shot roulette
This podcast was great!! Loved having Dan and Gavin on for a few minutes 😄
i love the Always Sunny naming conventions
I'm sorry mama. I never meant to hurt you. I never meant to make you cry. But tonight, I'm cleaning out my closet.
slovak4life1991 ........ Random Eminem
dont throw away those sneakers\
zeldafan1315 not random Trevor is slim shadey
zeldafan1315 have you seen Trevor?
That pitcher reminds me of 80s Pizza Hut.
i like how Michael is always thinking about us non members, he is the MVP
Loved the Michael rant. Totally right.
I really liked Aleks from cow chop in this video
Shit they used the joke
If I remember correctly, it's Argon gas you're talking about that makes your voice go all deep. To answer your question Jack.
Sulfur hexafluoride would be the gas, or at least one of the gases I suppose.
so happy jeremy is from mass i finally have an achievement hunter to relate to
A flail usually has a handle a chain and one or more spiked balls attached to the chain. A mace is usually just a staff with a blunt weight on the end. A Morning Star is very similar to a mace, but the blunt weight is usually spiked like the flails.
