On point advice re buying 2 zones hardier to ensure overwintering success:)
Thanks so much! Thank you also for watching!
I have done what you are suggesting and it works. But I also know that it requires patience and dedication, aka work.
It makes me sad that the increasing price tags on plants/gardening items is making it more difficult to acquire necessary items, at a time when growing your own has become even more important. This is true even for the clearance items at my local nursery.
A gardening network has made it possible for me to acquire plants through plant swaps and other gardeners.
Thanks for sharing! I agree that everything, including our beloved plants, are more money. Yes, any side hustle that will make money will be work. Plant swaps are a great way to find new plants for your yard. Also, look for "buy nothing" groups on social media for your area. You may also want to look for a backyard grower in your area to save money!
I discovered your videos hours ago and I really enjoyed your content. What stores do you recommend for clearance?❤
Thank you so much! This comment really made my day! I usually have the best luck at Lowe's but I have also gotten good deals on "special buys" at Home Depot and even some at Big Lots at the end of their plant season. My best advice is to make friends with a manager who can let you know when they think the sales will happen!
Thank you 🙏
Great tips. Where do you sell the plants from? Your yard or farmers market? Do you need license or permit?
Hi! I sell from my yard and a local charity fundraiser. I also list plants for sale on social media. I would love to do a farmer's market, but the ones near me are very strict and cost quite a bit of money. Yes, you so need a nursery license. In most states it only costs about $100!
Awesome information!! 🪴
Thanks so much!!
Please make a video how you propage your evergreen 🌲
I don't think I have every had a request before! I will make you a video!
Lowe’s threw out about 10 evergreens. Trashed.. I have a small car and they wouldn’t fit but I would have taken them in a heartbeat…
I would too! It is truly amazing how many plants get trashed at the end of the season. Thanks so much for sharing!
I tried... They wouldnt let you get them even from the dumpster
@@glaizaroe ugh!! That is heart breaking 💔
Have to be a little careful. A lot of them are trademarked or something
That is true. You cannot propagate anything that is patented!
Wonder if someone has a video like this in zone 4😂
I am not sure specifically for zone 4, but if you have the ability to offer some winter protection the concept should be the same!
@@uptosomething6271 here we get down to -60, pretty cold. I don't think anything in a pot or put in the ground after October (aside from bulbs) would make it. Roots need to grow deep enough to stay warm over the dead of winter.
Zone 4 here, too. The ground is so frozen already 😢
