Hi Matt - I have one of these and I love it. I take it multi day cycle touring as my one little extravagance - because as you say at the end of the day at camp it's so nice to have a back rest rather squat or bend over. I was going to mention it as gear to take on your trans American ride video - but I see you're already onto it . Cheers. Ben

Hi Ben. I was in two minds whether to take it or not but I think I will. It's a luxury but why not!!! Cheers.

I'm after a replacement camp chair and was going to buy this one, so I'm very glad that you said that you have a 32" waist as I'm a bit 'taller' than you so your first review has already saved me £££'s 👍

Hi Tony. You might still fit in ok. They also make a Chair One which may be bigger, I'm not sure. The eBay/Amazon specials cost around £20 and are very good if a little heavier.

@@matryderreviews ah yes, the Chair One version, that might actually be the one I was looking at, I'll double check.
      Thanks again 👍

Good idea on having this 2nd channel 👍
Like the look of these UL seats, think it might be the ‘luxury item’ on my Scottish islands trip this May. Probably just wing it with a cheapie version and see if I like it …
Some come with a base too which should stop that sinking feeling on sand or a peat bog 😃

Honestly the cheap ones are 80% as good. Just a little heavier. I have one of the base things and they work perfectly. Have fun on the Scottish Islands. I need to get up there myself. Cheers 👍

Hi Mat, I think it's great that you've started this review channel. Regarding the camp chair, I looked around quite a bit before I ended up buying a Monarch chair. The most unique thing about this chair is that it only has 2 legs, and you supply the other 2 legs when you sit in it. So, it's like sitting in a rocking or reclining chair. Very comfortable! It was being sold previously under a different brand name, but now it's being carried by Grand Trunk. I just put it on the scale and it weighs 598g (without the bag, which is 40g). I haven't taken it outside the house yet, so a field test is on order. My only concern is that the feet, although fairly large in diameter, may actually sink into the soft ground. We'll see.
Gee, sorry about the length of this comment. Maybe I need to start my own review channel.😊 I will request that you review your home-sewn frame bag. I am about to make one myself and would appreciate your input on the design you chose to use.

That Monarch chair sounds fascinating. I'm going to look it up now. Light too.good point with the feet. The 4 legged chairs tend to sink so two legs may be an issue. I've seen people slip tennis balls over the feet. Maybe you should start a channel. I bet that chair would get quite a few reviews. I hadn't thought of reviewing the frame bag..I'm pretty proud of it. It worked perfectly and didn't fail in any way. I saw a few proper ones on the trail with broken zips etc. cheers 👍

I have the helinix 0, the rei flexlite, the big Agnes skyline, and several cheap knock-offs. The one that consistently goes out the door with me is the helinox due to the low weight and bulk.

It's the perfect camp chair. Just a little expensive. Also, I believe they were the first to come up with this type of design.

With a ground sheet it work great even in snow, and was an easy place to cut some weight on my 50 lbs winter pack!

@matryderreviews gonna be "warm" this weekend. Think the lows are like 15-20F.. just taking my 0 degree gear, then shaping snowshoes out for water.. was told there is 0 in backcountry I'm going to...

Love the new logo. Can you recommend any lightweight collapsible castors, so I can convert it to a lightweight collapsible wheelbarrow?

That looks like a handy little chair to have for beach days. However, I am thinking it's a boys' chair, as us girls tend to have hips!😂
    Thanks 😊

My chair broke within 1 year. The hole by the right leg, where you also have trouble finding the word for, was pierced by one of the legs you put in there. The hole simply wore out within that year. I use the chair every week. I got a replacement cloth due to warranty, but i was lucky since it only has one year warranty. Customer service was ok, but i don’t think that something like this should happen after 1 year for that price.

That's very interesting. I'll be sure to keep an eye on that. For that kind of money I'd expect it to last longer than that. Thanks for letting me know. Cheers 👍

@ndrthrdr1 Agreed. I've bought a couple of knock off ones from eBay in the past for £19 and they're very good. Heavier but for £20 they're exceptional value for money.

Anyone looking for this chair but hesitant at the $149 price point, Campmor has it on sale for $119 right now! (3/30/2024) Plus free shipping in the US. I finally pulled the trigger on it.
