    The fact that Dorian looks so good in 240p speaks volumes about his conditioning.

      It's not 240p though It's shot on film which is why the resolution is good. Digital cameras didn't exist or at least weren't common back then. My parents had one of these old cameras and they were behemoths which is why they have it on a stand.

    • @SirPiche
      @SirPiche 6 лет назад +42

      LOVES 2 Smooch you obviously don't know much about Dorian. His workouts were more intense than anyone's. Most of these bodybuilders than train 2/3 hours in the gym wouldn't make it through a 45 min session with Dorian. No-one had this man's mentality.

    • @loves2smooch384

    • @SirPiche
      @SirPiche 6 лет назад +28

      LOVES 2 Smooch We are not talking about growth. You mentioned Dorian was not a hard worker. He is renowned through the bodybuilding world for his mental toughness and workouts. There's a video of a bodybuilder called Chris Cormier who trained with Dorian and Dorian broke him.

    • @The.Varangian
      @The.Varangian 6 лет назад +26

      So what if his training sessions was short? That's the way of doing High Intensity Training, just watch nowadays bodybuilders being trained by Dorian, they are dying in half of the workout... And speaking of Arnold - he never came even close to Dorian's conditioning, not even mention the size.

    My dad was a national level bodybuilder whose heyday was between the late 80s and early 2000s. He died in 2021, all crippled up like Ronnie Coleman (with no regrets either). Shortly before he died, he bought a smart phone and learned to peck around on it. This was one of the first videos I showed him when he learned to use RUclips. He remembered seeing the "sock shots" when they first came out in the magazines. All he had to say to this video was, "wow."

      True. Dorian is the rare bodybuilder who is massive but looks STRONGER rather than just huge. It's weird because you look at Coleman, prime Levrone, Priest, Kai, or whomever. Though they don't look weak per se, they don't look truly powerful and strong like Dorian did. IMO, his best was 1993. Dorian's a freak in size and especially conditioning. He's always ripped. Before juice. During Competition and retirement. Dude has low body fat levels and good muscle. Juice just amplified it. Dorian says 95' is his best. I still say 93 by far. By far.

He was over powering the whole line up because of his height, and wide structure. If I knew my whole line up is much smaller than me, and in Dorians case he was taller... Everyone else had better genetics than him (said by himself) he did it smart. Just come in super shredded. Now by the other guys trying to come in that shredded, because they are smaller, they'll just look smaller and flatter. He could afford to look flat in 93, with the exception of Flex Wheeler who could've potentially taken him out in 93

      juan garcia garcia I prefer Yates's calves. Pakulski has incredible calves, Matarazzo's were freaky as anything with his small ankles, Farnhouser's actually insert too low IMO, Dillet's were good, but a touch smaller than Yates and definitely less vascular than Dorian's. Dorian's calves look good from all angles, especially from the side and that seems to be missing with Matarazzo's. Plus, Dorian was so huge that if he didn't have fantastic calves, he'd look off. His freaky calves really undergirded his huge quads, back, etc.
      Others have had great calves, but Yates's are still my favorite.

      Late ass reply lol, but it's because of the NEED of these guys to get huge as quick as possible, therefore the result of insulin abuse. When these guys now a days take all the stuff the do, they get a ton of systemic growth. Like someone mentioned on here it comes down to laziness!
      I believe we'll see someone soon who pops up and brings today this level of conditioning with the same level of size if not a bit more. It would have to be done with way less drugs and WAY more insane levels of hard work and dedication. I don't think since him, anyone has been more dedicated and lived bodybuilding more than the Shadow himself.

    First guy to master the insulin/GH combo. Look how much he improved from the year prior. I remember these photos came out when I was like 18 and everyone at my gym was passing around the magazine. He was so hardcore and I liked the fact that he had so so genetics and with intensity, and of course pioneered the insulin era, was able to beat guys with better genetics.

    Keep in mind how shitty the quality of this video is. Yet even then we can still how grainy this fucker was in his prime. He'd be untouchable even in today's bodybuilding. Especially if he never got injured.

    just wondering the measurement of his calves at that time. Gosh looks like he had wrapped something onto his legs. I know many people will disagree but I genuinely think if he had walked onto the stage like this, it would be really hard for a peaked Ronnie Coleman or Phil Heath to beat him.

    The back beast ...super impressive !!! Todays bodybuilders should model their training after what ever Yates was doin to help get that crazy back & overall physique. That maybe just one of Dorian's strong points or easyier to develop for him where others may have those calves we always dreamed of !! Guys like that are the real fuckin deal... no gh gut just really amazing.. thanks for the vid!!

  • @Salamandria23
    @Salamandria23 14 лет назад +1

    See guys, HIS ARMS ARE HUGE! On stage it doesn't look that way because his lats are so overpowering. So all those saying he lacked arms clearly don't know, you can knock him for his lat to arm proportion but you can't say he lacked arms man...and this conditioning is out of this world. He not only has the conditioning but he has that grainy look. Only people i know that have that grainy look are Ronnie Coleman and Branch Warren.
