If you’re tired of explaining it to people then just don’t reply. 2) while that may be the textbook definition, it’s not exactly true because you could easily call a band that uses instruments a group too. 3) BTS have referred to themselves as a boy band before and the public has always called groups like the Beatles and one direction boy bands too. It’s really not that big of a deal, does it make a difference whether we call them a group or a band as long as it’s not in a patronising way?
@@gracietea 1) I wasn’t trying to be rude, I was trying to calming explain. 2) it’s not just textbook definition, no you can’t because band is a band and group is a group. 3) Rather BTS referred themselves as a boy band (which is only b/c people who don’t know them always calling them darn band). Also, The Beatles and D1 were NOT referred as groups (I can proof it by asking my parents since they born around that time). Butter has been #1 on the hot 100 in US for the past 2 weeks (they've also topped the global charts too). I think you guys will like Black Swan mv. BTS rapline (3 rappers - look them up [RM, who is the leader of BTS, JHope, and Suga aka Agust D for his solo mixtapes] is fire!! And regarding Suga (rapper in green shirt), google this title by Forbes magazine: "BTS’s Suga Is Currently Charting Hits On The World Songs Chart Under Three Names." And you mentioned swag, Suga is also called the King of Swag.

Trust me guys this song not even shows the 20% potential of bts. They are perfectionist , and i have never heard any artist sing and rap so good live. Their live concerts and performances are best. They are not the biggest kpop band but biggest band in the world.

Little info about them.
They are 4 vocalist and 3 rappers in group. And they don't have music in any one genre. They make all type of music from rnb to hiphop to dark rap songs.
They produce , write and compose most of their songs. If you want to explore more we army will be happy to help you know them.
They only have 2 english songs other are in their native language but their music video has subtitles in many languages including English. So if you react to another music video of them just be sure to put captions on.
Because main reason bts has a huge fanbase around world is because of lyricism. They have very deep meaning ful lyrics.

BTS is initially a Hip-Hop group , they’re heavily influenced by Hip-Hop and gave tribute several times to the culture ! The group is composed of 3 rappers and 4 vocalists !
They’re EXTREMELLY VERSATILE , and don’t fit in a genre (BTS is the genre, let’s put it like that)
I’d recommend you to check “ ON - Kinetic Manifesto Film” and “ Mic Drop” to begin with ☺️

@@lilyoongi146 I get it, but does it matter if this is what it takes to get new fans into them? They've been doing their "typical" stuff for 7-8 years with minimal radio play in the US and no Grammy nom. I consider their English songs the BTS gateway drug. They're still good IMO, but barely scratches the surface. And hopefully it draws people into them to dig deeper.
I'm thankful for their English singles bc it's great to hear them on commercials and the radio. It makes me happy, and I happen to like the songs too. But I think it's a little unfair to make it seem as if a few poppy songs will overshadow their 250+ song discography. I mean they released a whole Korean album (with the exception of Dynamite), and Japanese singles, in between their English singles. And what if they want to have a poppy sound? Many of the members enjoy pop music. Even Suga says he has more fun producing pop than hip hop, and that he can't rap the way he used to. Both he and RM have been more vocal about wanting to explore singing.
Pop is not inherently bad. I don't think being considered a pop group is bad. If people are curious, they will see that they are more than that. But the simple fact is, their old stuff wasn't getting the play it needed to reach a wider audience (or at least a sector). Maybe it's bc I am a newer fan, but I think older fans need to let go of the "BTS is hip hop, not pop, this that and the other" narrative. From the year I've known of these young men, they seem to have grown from being told concepts and directions they should take, into doing what they want to do. I remember being surprised that a lot of fans were not into their BE album bc "iT wAs DiFfErEnT" from the "BTS they thought they knew". When ironically it seemed it was the album they most had their foot in...so possibly the most "BTS" album so far. I guess it's hard to accept that your tastes may no longer align with the taste of your favorite musicians.
But I say just enjoy the ride wherever they go. At the end of the day they have proven themselves already and at this point in their career it shouldn't matter what image others have of them. Only that they are finally in a position to feel free to do what they want to do, whether it loses or gains them fans.
@@lilyoongi146 "Pop" seems even like a defunct term for me. It is better to use dance, electro, funk, jazz, synth, etc. It could just mean any genre that that is not hip-hop or rock, or any genre that requires singing which is absurd.
They will be more surprised with the great talent that BTS's rap line has. I recommend: UGH, Outro: Tear, Ddaeng, Cyphers (1,2,3 and 4). The vocalists are not far behind, they will also impress them, I recommend: The truth untold, Dimple, House of cards.

There is a lot of black Army's so, they can very well play in "all the black places," lol. Jimin is very much a man. Don't let his packaging fool you, if he wasn't a performer he could've been a professional fighter. 4 vocalist, Jin, JK, V, and Jimin. 3 rappers, RM, Suga, and J-Hope.
BTS is very versatile, they have songs that you will really like, you can react to mic drop if you're into rapping, or ON if you like it hard, plus the choreo is just *chef's kiss*

It's an all-male group, the one you thought was a girl is the member Jimin. Personally, I love Butter but I get it if it isn't your thing. They have a large discography full of many different genres. Don't worry if you don't love the song, I know a lot of people get scared that the fans( known as ARMY) are going to come for them, but as long as you remain respectful the fandom as a whole is pretty chill. ARMY is really protective though, so in the future, if you ever hear a song that you absolutely hate I suggest not referring to it as "shit" or "garbage" like a lot of people do because the fans will end your career. You guys seem really respectful though which is good. I don't know what kind of music you like so I'm gonna recommend some songs in each genre and you can listen if you are interested, no pressure tho

Suga and RM were part of underground hip hop in South Korea before they debuted as an Idol. Suga was initially told he’ll do just rapping and no dance part when he joined. BTS is initially a hip hop group, but now they have more diverse music.

Well, you have NO IDEA what you just stuck your foot in!!!! 3 rappers,. 4 vocalists, extremely talented, they do it all - rap, sing, produce, write, compose, collab, you name it!!!! Been around 8 years...their discography is insane!!! They all have solo songs and the rappers all have solo mixtapes. I know it's a lot of hype, but believe me -- they deserve the hype! I'm 61 years old, have never liked rap, but have always enjoyed many genres of music...these guys are IT! And they are simply the BEST individuals. (They look younger than they are - from 23 to 29)

BTS: 4 vocals, 3 rappers. MV's are on another level, highly recommend to watch their practice dance videos, you'll be impressed. Butter is only a make you feel good song without any meaning behind it, which is not what their actual work is about. Also, recommend to check out the rappers individual work. Better late than never. Music is universal and I knew BTS would dominate years ago. Talent you don't see much of in the US anymore. Lots of Swag in South Korea.
BTS is nothing like N'SYNC or any western boy band known to date. I recommend you watch "Intro to BTS" by xCeleste or Asian Theory on RUclips. Also, please put on subtitles for every song of theirs from now on (it allows listeners to understand what they are saying since many people choose to stay ignorant).
On another note, I totally disagree with the reactors’ ratings of giving “Butter” a 3/5 score. To “love” a song, these reactors would give it a 4/5 score? That’s only an 80% score statistically referenced…An 80% is only considered an “average” standard. I suggest the reactors (who gave the score of 3/5) to base their scoring in a more objective manner. I understand that people have their own taste in music and arguably, many would say it is considered “subjective”…But 3/5 because those reactors didn’t “love” the song? Not only is that an unfair scoring, but it is too subjective for one of the most hardworking musicians in the world (top ten in the world - to be exact).
As reactors, you should consider an objective standpoint. It is your responsibility as music critics on this platform. You don’t have to like a song. But, you should see it from an objective standpoint on whether it is a good song for a certain type of audience. BTS is a versatile group. I suggest the reactors who gave it a score of 3/5 to listen to “Mic Drop” by BTS. Maybe, that song will “subjectively” help them understand BTS more as musicians.

To "love" a song, its common sense to rate a value at least a 4.5 out of 5 rating. 80% (a 4 out of 5 rating) is only considered average in the international ranking system of basic math and statistics. To further simplify it for you, that is why/how I called bullsh*t on the guy that rated it a 3 out of 5 score. What's even more baffling is that you could see that he was vibing with the song....Yet, still score it a 3 out of 5? Its almost as if this guy rated the song that low because he wanted to "keep" an image. Or maybe he has prejudice against BTS' music. Who knows. But, his explanation didn't sound genuine or honest.
I wouldn't of even commented if the guy was actually honest about why he didn't like the song. Its okay NOT to like a BTS song. But, his explanation for his rating made no sense.
And to think Butter doesn't even scrape the surface of what BTS can do sonically and lyrically. They just celebrated 8 years as a group, the oldest member Jin is 28 and the youngest member Jungkook is 23.

The first rapper you saw in Butter is Suga. He goes by Agust D for his solo rap projects. He writes and produces as well. I think you guys would be really shocked in a good way by his Daechwita music video. If you decide to react to it you should look up the meaning of the word first since it is relevant to the video. It's in Korean with some english words mixed in. Definitely turn on the Closed Captions.

This is most definitely not their normal sound.Butter is their second all English single, and is just a summer song. The western media only portrays them as a pop group, when they are far more than that. Bts talks about real things such as: mental health, child abuse, cyber bullying, female empowerment, social and economic injustices and more. They talked about things that are forbidden to be talked about.
Today is Bts 8th year anniversary June 13, 2013. They have a started from the bottom story. Bts has three rappers and four vocalist. Each member has their own solo projects, the rappers even have mixtapes which they release for free. They write and produce their own music, with the help of their in house producers in their company.
The last guy with 4.5 has it almost right. It is a 5/5 for me. The video, concept, song is soooo good. What American artist put out videos like this? NONE! Song....fire. Video....fire. BTW...all men. The rap line is the best in Kpop and arguably the world. Anyway, really liked your reaction. You should react to their LIVE performances...they are off the chain. Have a good one.

so some info about bts theyre 7 members korean male group 3 rappers and 4 vocalists.
theyre NOT kpop. they do all genres of music and theyre very hip hop influenced.
butter is 1 of 2 songs in their large discography thats in english, majority of their music is in korean and japanese.
theyre NOT like n sync or backstreet boys. theyre 100x better.
they write, produce and compose their own music. and their music is about many different topics like mental health, self love, politics, social issues etc butter is a fun summer song but not a representative of their entire discography.
ALL 7 members have solo music too that they release from time to time while being in the group.
theyre not a pg group. theyre very real, relatable and cant be compared to really anyone.

Jimin is perfect he is a mixture of equal feminine and masculine energy and appearance. It makes people confused because they're not used to see this. 🤣 In my opinion he is perfect and very unique.

BTS in Korean stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates in English to BulletProof Boyscouts. They don't just sing BOPS either. They cross genre's. They are more of a message band. They got something to say, they write a song about it. My suggestions for Videos, with different sounds and different messages; NOT TODAY, ON, Kinetic Manefesto, If you just want to hear what their voices sound like without the choreography; FIX YOU; MTV UnPlugged or NPR's TINY DESK. Hi, I don’t know how y’all came up in my recommended but it was fine. Thanks for reacting to bts. I’m fine with everyone’s rating because I value all opinions. I hope y’all will check out more of their music because they are very talented and versatile. Bts is huge but that doesn’t mean everyone has to be crazy about every song. As long as y’all are respectful and honest I’ll check y’all out. A song that might me more to y’all’s liking might be black swan mv or ddaeng. I wish y'all could see them the way we do. The talent they have. I think y'all should delve deeper check out some other styles of theirs like On Kinetic Manifesto Come Prima, or Black Swan MV. I really think y'all would gain a greater appreciation of their catalog. They have transcended Kpop. They are now a genre unto themselves.

Butter debuted #1 on Hot 100, stayed for a second week, and may be there for a third week as well. This is funk pop and not meant to be anything other than a feel-good Summer song. MOST of their songs have insanely deep and layered lyrics. Check out Black Swan, you won't regret it. :) They have over 200 songs in almost every genre. The rapline, RM, J-Hope, and Suga, have a bunch of songs as well that will blow you away. Suga is called the Eminem of S. Korea.

As a black kpop fan and an ARMY (BTS’ fan base name), Im super happy to see other black people react to them and be respectful and open minded. It is sad to say a lot of other ppl aren’t as such; calling them gay and girls for wearing makeup (which both aren’t bad things and makeup being part of their culture/ kpop culture) and other stuff.
