I have been an OCBF Church member for 20+ years. Our Pastor Tony did not resign, nor step down!! He stepped away & is in a time of spiritual healing. He will be back & we are sure he'll be better than ever & giving God the glory!! ❤

I’ve been living in Dallas, Texas for 30 years. I used to listen to Dr. Evans when I was in Miami Florida. There is nothing that he can do that Lord will not forgive him. I’m sure he has repented and I look forward to having him back. He is one of the greatest pastors I’ve known, and when I was going through my divorce in Miami got me through a lot hard nights. Hanging in there, Dr. Evans. The Lord knows your heart and you will be forgiven. Don’t be so hard on yourself. I am hard on myself all the time. 🙏🏻❤️
Tony Evans has always been a great inspiration to me. He has a true gift in teaching God’s word. He’s a man, not infallible & as a preacher, has a bullseye on his back. I pray and wish him and his family well and so should any professing Christian 🙏🏼❤️

I wish it was as simple as a true and contrite repentance. The bible teaches as you sow, so shall you reap. You can truly repent, but the ramifications still have to work themselves out. A drug addict can truly repent, but they must still work through their healing. One must make amends. One must also create systems/habits to remove temptations and to grow strong in the antithetic virtue to the sin you fell into.

I don’t think a 74 year old church leader/old man should have gotten married after his wife’s tragic death. I wonder if he had a relationship with her before his wife’s death and was this his sin? And why is he not telling everyone his sin? I used to listen to him thinking that he was good man but I don’t have anymore respect for him.

Everyone who is looking for the "sin" committed by doctor Tony Evans, and who calls themselves a Christian here is a word of advice for you straight from the Word of God. Gal. 6:1 says, "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted". Whether Tony Evans has repented or not is between him and God. He is Gods' servant, so he doesn't need to expose anything to anyone. The fact that he holds himself accountable is enough for the ministry, and frankly, if his congregation is continuing in the faith, that's all that matters. But when God chooses to make things plain, and He will in His own time, all those who feel they have a right to know, and are demanding that he tell you everything, be prepared for your own sins to be exposed. You're not offering any Scriptural proof texts, so since I'm busy I'll just assume you know the passage in I Timothy about how you are to expose the sin in front of all the church. In fact, the word pastor isn't in the NT but two places, but the modern concept of pastor is essentially a "teaching elder" as opposed to a Lay elder. It's extra biblical altogether, but Tony knows the Bible. He has his name on one.

My dad gifted me with his commentary Bible on my birthday and I was so appreciative. 8 days later I found my mother deceased on her bed. Ok, I have a story to tell, Dr. Carla Crummie’s past husband, otherwise known as Pastor Crummie, was actually my uncle, you won’t believe it but my mom and pastor crummie knew eachother for a while, and we’d always go to his church sessions, pastor crummie was my friend, my uncle, and especially my most favorite pastor, the time I heard that he died, which I believe was from a heart attack, I was in tears, went to his funeral at a church, then we (my mom, me and my brother) drove to his burial site for the last part of the funeral, I was either 8, or 9 when this happened, Auntie Crummie, (Dr. Carla Crummie,) was at the funeral too, and I felt bad for her, fast forward 3 years, I was 11, my brother was 10, (I’m 12 now, my brother just turned 11) I’ve found out that she remarried, I was happy for her, but I was sad also because It made me miss uncle Crummie. ANYWAY, THIS VIDEO IS COMPLETELY FAKE, PLEASE BRING DIS DOWN.

What lead people here? Gossip or concern for a minister? I didn't listen to the whole thing, but what I did hear was his conviction lead him to step down as pastor so he could seek repent and seek God. What he did was scripturally correct. Too many people in the church are quick to put pastors on a pedestal and tear them apart when they falter. Pray for the pastors that God gives them strength to fight the good fight. Be diligent in seeking God and use spiritual discernment when dealing with pastors.
So what he remarried after his wife and her husband passed so. People just want to hear if the sin was while he and she were still married to their mates, pathetic. Dr. Evans brought this to the elders at his church and submitted to church discipline. That IS biblical. Broadcasting the sin from which you have repented is NOT biblical. Everyone salivating over this to add to their gossip circles are NOT brothers and sisters in Christ. We pray for restoration, NOT the destruction and casting out of fellow believers.
I know Doc. I don't know what mistake he made and I frankly don't care. All I know is that he holds himself to a higher standard because of his leadership role and anything the elders would do to address a mistake for an associate pastor, he would insist for himself, no question. A just and upright man wouldn't have taken accountability especially since it comes with far more scrutiny due to his high-profile ministry. Doc is a human who isn't immune from moral failure but a human of utmost honor. I can't imagine his transgression was appalling anyway. He doesn't have it in him.

I don’t think a 74 year old church leader/old man should have gotten married after his wife’s tragic death. I wonder if he had a relationship with her before his wife’s death and was this his sin? And why is he not telling everyone his sin? I used to listen to him thinking that he was good man but I don’t have anymore respect for him.
We humans, myself included, have a weakness. We itch to "know" everything especially if it's a "juicy rumor" especially involving a pastor! It should be enough to know that a man of God is also imperfect as you & I are. It's no one's business what he did. It's not between you, him & God! Everyone who is looking for the "sin" committed by doctor Tony Evans, and who calls themselves a Christian here is a word of advice for you straight from the Word of God. Gal. 6:1 says, "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted". Whether Tony Evans has repented or not is between him and God. He is Gods' servant, so he doesn't need to expose anything to anyone. The fact that he holds himself accountable is enough for the ministry, and frankly, if his congregation is continuing in the faith, that's all that matters. But when God chooses to make things plain, and He will in His own time, all those who feel they have a right to know, and are demanding that he tell you everything, be prepared for your own sins to be exposed. EVERY, and I mean EVERY Christian involved in this messiness had better step back and let God handle His business and you mind yours before you wind up like Jobs' friends.

In fact, the word pastor isn't in the NT but two places, but the modern concept of pastor is essentially a "teaching elder" as opposed to a Lay elder. It's extra biblical altogether, but Tony knows the Bible. He has his name on one.

My dad gifted me with his commentary Bible on my birthday and I was so appreciative. 8 days later I found my mother deceased on her bed. Ok, I have a story to tell, Dr. Carla Crummie’s past husband, otherwise known as Pastor Crummie, was actually my uncle, you won’t believe it but my mom and pastor crummie knew eachother for a while, and we’d always go to his church sessions, pastor crummie was my friend, my uncle, and especially my most favorite pastor, the time I heard that he died, which I believe was from a heart attack, I was in tears, went to his funeral at a church, then we (my mom, me and my brother) drove to his burial site for the last part of the funeral, I was either 8, or 9 when this happened, Auntie Crummie, (Dr. Carla Crummie,) was at the funeral too, and I felt bad for her, fast forward 3 years, I was 11, my brother was 10, (I’m 12 now, my brother just turned 11) I’ve found out that she remarried, I was happy for her, but I was sad also because It made me miss uncle Crummie. What I mean, is it is a form of “easy believism”. Resulting in one never truly becoming born again.
He is on record teaching one can just wake up one day and no longer want God in their life.

It seems that many churchgoers don’t read their Bibles with understanding. Certain sins disqualify people from ministry. Restoration is a thing that doesn’t bring one back to ministry. What lead people here? Gossip or concern for a minister? I didn't listen to the whole thing, but what I did hear was his conviction lead him to step down as pastor so he could seek repent and seek God. What he did was scripturally correct. Too many people in the church are quick to put pastors on a pedestal and tear them apart when they falter. Pray for the pastors that God gives them strength to fight the good fight. Be diligent in seeking God and use spiritual discernment when dealing with pastors.

I know Doc. I don't know what mistake he made and I frankly don't care. All I know is that he holds himself to a higher standard because of his leadership role and anything the elders would do to address a mistake for an associate pastor, he would insist for himself, no question. A just and upright man wouldn't have taken accountability especially since it comes with far more scrutiny due to his high-profile ministry. Doc is a human who isn't immune from moral failure but a human of utmost honor. I can't imagine his transgression was appalling anyway. He doesn't have it in him.
