corbin burnes chose hader as long relief even tho hader stopped being a long reliever after milwaukee reamed him in arbitration in 2020. after that point he essentially limited himself to being used as a closer exclusively. hader basically admitted it himself last year in SD when he said ‘are we in a playoff race ?’ when he refused to pitch in a game vs. SF. then he confirmed it again after he signed his big deal with houston on an interview on the MLB network that he didn’t wanna pitch multiple innings due to his arbitration hearing.

@@justinllamas1that doesn’t mean he is “exclusively known” for being a closer only. Thats what he is now, sure. But he used to be a thoroughbred multiple, very high leverage innings reliever. Thats why, imo, he is more known, especially his playoff heroics he’d have to do to give his team a shot. He realized that players get paid or not based on the accumulation of “saves” rather than quality of pitching. I’m sure in the postseason he’d gladly go back to multiple innings of work
hader in long relief is indeed how he started... everyone knew he had closer stuff though. If you saw him in the 6th and 7th with 5 Ks and no hits you just told yourself at least he was out of the game
He was so lost this spring... like who resurrected the dead in him? All the sudden he comes back up throwing 104 sinkers with pin point precision? I go to a game april 3rd he let go from out of hand to leave the staduim.... but we stayed
The title cut off at b so I thought it was his dream blunt rotation… kinda disappointed it wasn’t
Josh Hader in long relief is crazy
Nah it checks out, it’s how he used to be used in the postseason especially
He has done multiple long reliefs with the astros

He used to be a starter…..
Not that crazy bro
real ones remember the 2.2 inning, 8 k outing from hader
Real ones remember haders 88 gold future stars starting pitcher from 17 that was bought in the ticket counter
Real ones remember the 6 run blown save by Josh Hader against the giants
Why did Corbin look like he was about to cry when listening to the question
Because he misses when the brewers had a real bullpen
@@ThePeachMusselthey still have one 😂 Peguero, Payamps, Wilson, Milner and Williams

Atta boy Burnsey!
Ironic that he chooses Hader for long relief when Hader is exclusively known for being the closer and closer only.
no he's not? when hader started out he was known for his multi inning relief outings

i'm aware that he stopped pitching multiple innings, hence the words "started out"@@justinllamas1

Don’t comment things when you have no idea what you’re talking about
Cant go wrong with the top 2 saves leaders lmao
Bro I would’ve said Mariano, Hoffman, and Lee Smith
Tbh I'd pick the unstoppable trio from the 2014-2015 Royals. If you were losing after the end of the 6th, you weren't winning.
Two padres guys, nice. Ironic how our bullpen’s absolute shit rn except for Hader.
Actually, two Brewers guys
That was so much easier than Mariano rivaras time with selecting an entire field 😊
Hader to Hoffman to Mariano would be unhittable
Burns is so good at pitching if he played on a team with actual offense he wouldn't need much of a bullpen?
He has a 4 era lol

2 innings my behind, he wont ho past one nowadays!
Lol too bad the Padres aren’t using hader for 1+ innings
per his request tho...
