- I found a skyhook before the crux, but it would still not be a good idea to fall.

Great video. I love the narrating through thoughts at each stage of the climbing, analysing everything to ensure minimal risk of falling.
Really enjoying the narration style on this one, as well as the well chosen music building tension. Thanks Dave!
If Dave is not one of the best all round climbers then I’m not Napoleon👌
Unbelievably well edited
I like how your thoughts blend in so well with your climbing
Inspiring climbing and lovely filming as well, especially the shots taken from the camera to right of you
Thanks Dave. This felt like a little masterpiece in visual and audible storytelling. beautiful
What a wonderful little piece of story telling. Very well fitted music and I especially loved the narration style in the second person -"Take that crimp, feel the wind...". Also the scenery and those shots of you on that rock face with mountains in the background felt really inspiring to me, infused with Scottish wilderness and adventurous feel. Thank you Dave !
That was an incredible video Dave. Whenever i see a new vid from you about one of your trad projects i get so excited! it almost makes me think that i am up on the route in the cold trying the moves.
Loved that. After watching the last video where u say doing loads of milage doesn't really help u climb harder and to push at least once into the uncomfort ground every trip helped me loads. Ive been plodding for years on trad but climbing hard for me on sport. Yesterday i ticked my first E7 at nesscliff. Over the moon. Thanks for your insight and brilliant content. 👏
Congratulations for the impressive FA and this amazing film about it!!
Wonderful film Dave...seriously that was brilliant to see and hear your thoughts. The beautiful scenery helps, its a special place. I presume you were making the nut fit a placement better?
Such an inspiring video on so many levels, from the scenery to the movement to the multi faceted insight into conditions, safety and mindset. A+ Dave
Fantastic video
Congrats! I love the music and editing as usual, also the description of the feeling that this was go time was awesome. Thanks for sharing!
Just beautiful!
Incredible effort and style Dave. So inspiring. 👏
Nice work! Really cool seeing the progress over a few videos
Loved this video! A totally unique feel!
Love the narration!! Beautiful stuff
Fantastic video! Love the narration.
These videos are really helpful.
Well done, it is great to see a successful first ascent!
I would love if you were able to show a close up of the gear you place on the route. I'm sure it adds another level of complexity regarding the camerawork but I think it would be really interesting to see!
Awesome Dave, just wondered if you have ever talked about the pros or cons of climbing with more experienced climbers, but also if there is any value in being the most experienced in a group and teaching the less experienced.
Yes, discussed in my book 9 out of 10... More than a few climbers have told me they moved climbing wall or even city after reading that.
Congratulations! Great video as well!
Awesome climb! Would be interesting to see what the placements are like one something like this. Since I guess what a pro worries about is useful to know especially since those were not micro cams or micro nuts mostly. Bad rock or really funky shapes?
I get notification. I click. Life is simple. ❤❤❤
Hi Dave, great lead and commentary! I am curious about your thoughts on falling on tied down hooks. Do you think enough of them would actually hold an average fall? Or do you simply view it as better than nothing? Perhaps you could collab with HowNot2 and do some backed-up fall tests 😉
NIce video and nice climb. Inspiring
Classic line youth.
amazing
Just wow.
i've enjoyed watching it :)
'' Probably still wouldn't hold, but you are not going to fall'' 🤨
best channel 👍
Nice!
Beautiful, is the rock serpentinite?
Awe
Does anyone know what song is playing as the video opens? Thanks!
Staffan Carlen, Just a little sunshine.
@@climbermacleod Thank you so much!
Racheting down a skyhook with a cam and an Adjust, genius!
Can someone explain why he uses file on his nut ?
I'm sure Dave will reply. My thoughts are to either make it fit a placement, take off burrs, or increase it's bite on the rock.
My guess is to fit the placement better, perhaps to gain more softness/friction on rock than the anodised surface?
Just to make it fit the unusual placement a little neater.
Amazing video. Any way I could get some of the song names used in the video?
That was impressive. Id pay to watch that! Admirable style and narration!
great video and story telling Dave!
The commitment, the discipline, the dedication, the execution.... simply amazing and very inspiring. Thank you!
Amazing, well done Dave. Loved the tip about attaching gear to your harness with finger tape to reduce the time placing and therefore ease the pump. 👏👏👏
Found a skyhook... I'm gonna nope the fuck outta there
Well done, Dave!
Inspiring climb and great edit with calm narration in contrast with the gripping situation!
The way the music lined up with with the moves at 5:17 was brilliant!
this was amazing, especially the narration, and all I want is to hear you describe the process for all of your climbs in this manner.
Agree with the others, really enjoyed the style of this vid, great job. 💪
beautiful. thanks dave
.....it was a Zen thing!!
Dave this was amazing.
What was that system that helped Dave analyse the route without anyone belaying?

Inspiring as ever!
