I went and watched that game after everyone had mentioned it in this comment section and wow yes. Ended up going down the whole 🐇 🕳️

When Manly said they usually make scholcky horror games I knew it was the House of Alessa guy, the style of the house near the end reminded me of their other works. They clearly have fun doing whatever but it is cool that they can make something a little more straightforward.
Did you see Mausoleosis? That game was one of their best. And original sound track.

@@PaulieMcCoyI like how there's a lot of world building in those games and created lore that goes across the four titles. There's even Easter eggs about other games. Like cannibal mermaid having Pauline from hairy trees.

the character being 19 and the mother being scared of leaving her alone for an hour and giving her a chore list is actually literally how one of my friends functions, debating on sending this to him
My father was that way, I had to get out of the house as soon as I could. I'm 35 now and he still treats me like I'm 12 when we meet up. Some parents are just incapable of accepting that their children grow up and become adults like everyone else..... or are androids in a simulation, take your pick.
The perspective change when opening the front door reminds me a lot of Omori. The perspective would change whenever someone would knock on the door, and you had to decide whether or not to let them in.
The layout of the house especially with the first floor and the dangerous stairs also reminds me of omori

I like how everything got more surreal the longer the game went on. I've got no complaints. I'm intrigued.

The digitized screaming sounds, the low-tone stingers/music during danger sequences, and the overall ZX Spectrum-looking color palette make me wonder if this is at all inspired by Temple of Apshai. I know it wasn't on the Spectrum, but that style of inverted-looking limited palette is a good descriptor.
I just looked that game up and holy cow you are so right. When the monsters appear that digital sound. Also it's a similar color palette. You have a really good eye. And memory. You been around the block a couple times huh. 😂 Thanks for sharing

Cool surreal sci-fi horror. Nice sprite work with modified and reasonable oppai. That man who was the 'monster' here was truly frightening - and MBH's extra-deep soft "scalpel, scalpel" just added to the fear factor.

reminds me a lot of that 3d game where you discover your character is some kind of cyborg/clone child, that's supposed to follow the same pattern every day and was meant to replace the family's dead daughter

I'm surprised there wasn't any callback to Lilly's Well with how the place changed each time you, 'died' and came back. Game had a bit of that with purple hair slowly growing in random places.

Oh, I really like this game! The visual style is really interesting. A lot of death caught me offguard too. And the mystery is definitely intriguing, but, yeah, probably a simulation. Just what it is actually about, we don't know yet.

Man this game’s soundtrack is awesome. I absolutely love the art style as well. The only thing that stands out, not in a good way, is the writing. It’s not terribly bad, but I feel like the developer should have somebody go over the writing. There’s a lot of small mistakes and oddities that can be easily fixed. My favorite was the pone (phone).
Edit: it could also some side content and not be so linear. I think these types of games really suffer when they’re too linear. Having all those doors be unavailable just because “mom is calling” is kind of annoying. Still a good game. Very interesting and unique rpgmaker experience.
