- Smartkey locks are a pain in the butt for locksmiths time and time again. Make sure you are aware of every bypass and technique available to make these jobs a walk in the park. Resetting a smartkey lock when keys have been lost used to require tearing it apart with lots of springs and little pieces.
In this video I show how to easily make a key for a smartkey lock without even taking it off the door. Thats right, thanks to Mr Lishi, we are able to use the KW1 Lishi tool to easily decode this lock to cut a key for.

You just saved me so much time drilling those suckers, thank you!!!
Dude that’s awesome! Thanks for sharing! I knew there was another way to do this with out dropping 300 dollars.
Awesome job keep up the great work
Great job, thank you!
Nice Vid Thanks for sharing 💪😁
thank you
Well done
Thank you, sir.
Does this method work with the sch1 lishi pick for Schlage ?
Never knew you could use a Lishi KW1 on a smart key lock.
You can but its not 100%
Good method to know just in case my AccuReader takes a crap in the field.
Do you have an accureader for kw1?
@@CaptainLockPick Sorry, I meant LockTech Kwikset Smart Key Decoder.
I was sweet. You got a video how to cut with a depth key?
I've had mixed success. I'm pretty sure depth 6 won't read correctly and I get a false positive for a 1, so I will try to progression it out. It has worked a couple times on the job for me though.
I have this happen too. Depth 6 does not read correctly.
@@CaptainLockPick I just got the locktech kwikset smart key decoder about a month ago. Really liking it for saving time on locks I can't destroy such as at apartments. Kwikset is coming out with sc1 keyway with smartkey tech, so I'm interested to see how the sc1 lishi will do at decoding those.
There are different generations of smartkey. This only seems to work on some of them. I believe the newer ones may have fixed this.
Have to be lock or unlocked?
Where can I get the keys that have the pin size
Usually what I like to do for a smart key is have them call a relative from out of town to send a picture of the key. Or bypass. There's also the cylinder removal tool for bell handles. Because what idiot locked their deadbolt without their key, that's always suspicious to me. I know they could have "lost it or it was stolen", but I'll walk away without 2 forms of ID.
I totally agree with you about someone’s deadbolt being locked. I’m always way more strict and alert when a customer is locked out of there deadbolt. Valid ID and questions to follow.
I like that whole call a relative thing to get picture of the key. I’m gonna have to try that one out.
Hey does this technique work on every smart lock please
It doesn’t work on new generation I believe. Not 100% sure though.
@@CaptainLockPick do you know why not?
@@slickm7 you cannot tension a Gen-3 (new type) in the same way, essentially all the pins would never set allowing the lock to open, that is unless they all go to the exact height simultaneously, just as it would with the key.
This lishi cost 30 euro each do we need to buy for every model of the cars ?
Can you teach me how to do this I have had no success
It is kind of a hard technique to get proficient at. What part are you having trouble on?
What reasons would this not work???
Newer smartkey technology may not be susceptible to this method.
rest in peace Brian
Got a BMW and now a BnB in Belgravia.
BMWs are nice
I have a ton of play in every position….?
You can also use that as a pick to open the lock.
Why not bump it with bump key to get it to turn so you can re key it
Bump Kwikset Smartkey lock?
@@CaptainLockPick lost my key and it’s a pain to reset the lock with the smart system. If this works I’m in. Trying to get the right tap to work. Trying to reset my interior locks. My dead bolt is easy. But now I won’t have to pull the cylinder out and place it in a cradle
I'm sorry boss this is a lie I try same u did it
