Just when you thought the MTD Pitch Black and Texas Chainsaw match was the biggest embarrassment in wrestling, Tony and Jericho say "Hold my controller." This was just bad on so many levels, and once again completely tone-deaf. I'm glad Paul Wight's involvement was limited but he still should not have taken that bump. Kota Ibushi might be the most clueless wrestler in the business, between the bike spot and literally standing there for 60 seconds having no idea what he's doing and then botching the spot. JeriKaren got burned by Omega's intro and cried like a bitch about it. Omega cut his hand up, for 700k viewers and nearly broke his neck before the PPV. Of course, we all know Brian Cage was going to eat the pin when he was announced for the match. This match helped no one involved and is an insult to the fun of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series, Kenny wants to be a video game character so bad. Worst of all... Meltzer gave it 4 stars.
In regards to Kota Ibushi, you can pinpoint his physical downfall to his match vs. Naito at New Japan’s Dominion PPV (2019?). The whole match was them focusing on 30 minutes of dropping each other on their heads and necks to the point it was obvious and just hard to watch. Now neither guy can move the same in the ring and are shells of their former selves. And I can’t feel bad for them.
I'm not as prone to go off on 'garbage wrestling' as Jim or Brian. However, this was absolutely ridiculous. I can't remember how many times I laughed audibly during this match.

A week of absolute buffoonery
THIS was DEFINITELY the week that gets AEW BACK ON TRACK! Just like every other week before it was…
What a weak AEW more like
Ibushi is such a weird wrestler. He was super athletic not too long ago and he devolved drastically the last couple years
Yeah, I was surprised that he came back after his injury/long layoff. You can tell he’s getting back into shape, but he was a shadow of himself when he showed for the war games match.
He’s in a weird spot where he’s going to show up for random things like this and I don’t think we’ll ever see the Ibushi of old.
The only street fight guy I felt sorry for was the dude Big Show (I'll always call him that) threw off the stage and whacked his head on the edge of the other table. It would have been funny if Hobbs, after slamming Big Show onto the windshield, said "Real glass! Cry me a river!"
Meltzer is 100% getting bribes from TK on these ratings for WCW Lite, I mean AEW
Surreal I'm listening to Cornette talk about *_Yakuza, a once miniscule series I played in the mid 00s that Sega refused to market and no one knew existed._* What a time.
I loved the marks saying "Oh My God! Ibushi did his DDT Spot🥰"
Poor Hobbs....this guy deserves waaaaaay better.
I don't know what is worst for Hobbs, getting his nuts cut off by a Bloated Jericho and Omega, or winning a title because of QT. He really needs to jump ship to WWE
The AEW looks now like a funeral business for all the burials their booking is making...
They're doing that to him because he's friends with Punk.
Does he really tho? He’s actively taking part in this mess.
@@TheMartinTD He likely has to, if you don't play with the middle school recess boys the elite, you get ostracized.
"One winged fairy" always makes me laugh. 😂
Me too
You & me both. I agree wholeheartedly!
This is one of the funniest match retellings on the show 😂
Jim reminds me of an RGG character .I could imagine him as a sidequest character that teaches Kiryu a crazy heat action, like Bacchus.
Dave Meltzer's 4 plus star has as much weight as the 7.3 from Pitchfork.
You know it was bad when even Meltzer's Trained Monkey said this was utter bullshit. But of course he won't have an impact on Dave's star ratings
Of course Memeltzer would give it 4 stars: 3 of his man crushes were in this match.
Tony said hold my mirror and straw
The problem with that freezed spot was their rivals weren't positioned on the respective cues...
Great episode.
Now, we need to hear Corny react to Ronda Rousey damn near getting a broken neck at an outlaw mudshow.
I remember a few years ago, we were shocked by how jacked Big Show got. However, he can't even walk now. He looks like Andre in 1991.
Considering Paul's knee, I believe he may have the same issues as Kevin Nash.
We now know how ‘The Big Show’ (Paul Wight) got that muscle mass after the recent leaked names from that Celebrity Doctor. 👀
@@constablekennedy7705 he drank some of slick Ric's Wooo Energy drink!!!
If only The Marvels could had the same writers for their "comedic" scenes...
This shit was garbage lmao
More proof that Meltzer's star ratings are meaningless. If this can get 4.25 stars, everything Roman does should get 7-8 stars cause it's light years better than this embarrassing match.
Tbh I’m surprised Jim was this calm and measured in his response
I've been waiting for this. Now I await his review of the Texas Death Match at Full Gear
same and same
Oh good Lord. The latter will give him an aneurysm.
I saw a clip of Jericho in his pants and tie, and for some reason, I thought it was a mankind tribute
I adore the Like a Dragon games and I love the new game LAD: Gaiden but holy fuck I hate AEW for this travesty
Ima be honest, I listen to these waiting to hear what nickname Jim comes up with next 😂
The thing with the Japanese dude riding the bike was one of the worst wrestling spots ever
Hobbs picking up no bs and throwing him onto the car should be on the dynamite intro.
you can see Jericho's wig come lose at one stage in the match with the camera zoomed right in
Imagine having to wrestle the silly old wreck, with all his plastic surgery and fake hair. Just so embarrassing.
If there was a list of all the cringiest things AEW have done, this, in my opinion, is right up there on that list
Hangman DRINKING BLOOD is going to be locked in the top spot for a long time.
..I hope.
Been waiting for this as both a Yakuza/Like A Dragon and Wrestling fan
kiryu is a better worker than everybody in AEW hands down
@@wombatgirl997 Thing is Yakuza can tell a good story....AEW cant lmao
@@Xeryoc The writing in those games... 🔥🔥🔥
I want a 10 hour video of Jim singing Bicycle Race. 🤣
This was a parody of street fight. It really was like something from a video game
And while that works great for video games, it don't for pro wrestling.
Kota”hitting” people with the pipe was hogan-esque
it was worse, but I get what you are saying
AEW is the perfect example of just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
"Like A Dragon Gaiden"...sounds like something got lost translating that over from Japanese😂
Can Hobbs just get released so he can go to WWE and maybe salvage his career, please? AEW is just embarrassing at this point.
Can't wait for Jim to review hangman vs swerve 😂😂
Kota Idouchi is the kind of guy who will no sell Lesnar's F5, he'd kip up in a heartbeat and make a rape face at Lesnar.
Lol if he tried to pull that shit, Lesnar would kill him. And Kota seems like the stupid bastard that would do this.
i would actually love to see that,,,because you can guess immediately what would happen after
@@omegamark9178if he gave Kota that overhand right he gave Braun, his head would be in the twelfth row.
@@omegamark9178 I'd like to see OC give Brock those shin kicks. I can only imagine what would follow.
@@EwanCumiaBrock would decapitate Pockets.
Big Show looks like the “before” pic Nash posted a couple years ago before he got that surgery.
I love how Brian and Jim always think every game is the failed fight forever video game 😂
The moment I saw the bike bit.. I knew I’d hear Jim sing “bicycle” in the near future
I just knew Jim Cornette was gonna roast/deep fry this 😂😭😂🤣
Is that jim cornette as freddy mercury?????????on the thumbnail???
Oh believe me, it gets worse. MJF vs Jay White is the most critically panned main event match in years.
You really think Jim's gonna give MJF a bad review??
@@romelmunoz7957 He has been the entire face turn.
@@maxxdahl6062 but usually he gives him a good review for his matches.
@@romelmunoz7957 Hasn't been that way for the last few weeks. There's been almost nothing he's enjoyed on AEW for like the past month.
@@romelmunoz7957 I think it's like Brian said, it must be MJF trying way too hard to be a team player so he's doing absolutely anything Tony says, he must have heat in the back or some shit.
"11:46, Hang on now! I heard there was a brick inside that couch cushion soo..............LMAO!"
Just wait until they review the hangman vs Swerve death match.
Is this what you come up with when you drink a can of Ric Flair’s mushroom piss water?😂😂😂😂😂
This review of the match is better than the match 😂😂😂
Cage clotheslining Ibushi off the bike was the only thing that I popped for. Cause I was like “oh thank God that foolishness is over.”
Oh we were waiting for this!
I haven't anticipated ANYTHING in life more than JC reviewing Hangman vs. Swerve 2: "There Will Be Blood" (Guzzling)
a "Like a Dragon" inspired street fight with Brian Cage dressed as a character from Streets of Rage 2 (a different Sega game) and the finishing move to end it was named after a character from a different series entirely instead of the series signature Tiger Drop.
oh, and Kenny has a cameo in Like a Dragon Ishin, which probably explains this match.
Face paint like Abadede, the boss of Stage 4 the stadium
Cage has been wearing that paint for a while, I assumed it was some sort of Road Warrior tribute.
I couldn't get past The Ninja GAIDEN 🙂🤣🤣💀 Jim* " F**K is a GAIDEN "??🤣🤣
Dave traded credibility for checks from Tony Khan a long time ago and just for a reference point The Rock vs Steve Austin at WM 17 got 4.5 stars, this got 4.25 stars😂😂😂😂
The Japanese guy slowly riding a bicycle tapping people with a fake pipe was hilarious.....
This company is truly embarrassing
They were a half step away of doing Will Hobbs the way they did Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction.
This was ridiculous.
I knew it was only a matter of time before Jim stopped reviewing AEW completely 😂 and it's finally here
AEW is trying to give Cornette a Massive Stroke with its lousy booking 😂
Never gonna happen lol. He said the same thing after Matt Hardy debuted and stadium stampede. And now we’re here. He’s not stopping
AEW is giving him the subs and views beyond anything the WWE would, and WWE has Top Dolla and Shiite Row
@@boomboompow2329In all fairness,he actually did stop for like a month after Stadium Stampede but Brian(& the listeners) kept begging him start back.
Huzzah!!🎉
I’m so very much looking forward to Jim’s review on Hangman vs. Swerve from Full Gear.
Yakuza Series is my favourite game franchise but in saying that should not be on a wrestling show street fight simple
I didn't know the circus was in town when I saw the bike
Been waiting for this like a crack head waiting for his next hit
Travis, Jim as Freddie is just perfect. Well done, Sir. You nailed it.
And to think Ibushi called Takeshita an imitation Ibushi😂
"0:41..............This hadda be me saying this cuz I couldn't believe I was even watching this SH*T! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Ibushi was the reason I stopped caring about NJPW as they had him end Naito's reign as IWGP Champion at Wrestle Kingdom Night 1 2021.
I was in attendance for this! I was thinking, I can't wait for Jim's take!
