When all of you can play a demanding piece this well, being recorded, surrounded by people practically on top of you, and play it perfectly..then maybe you can criticize. You miss the spirit of what's taking place. You take away from this person's hard work, accomplishment, and courage to take on something most would not. Point the finger at yourselves before pointing it at others. I admire her playing and risk-taking.
Well, I've heard cleaner versions, slower versions. IMHO the passion in this is its best feature & makes it the best of the bunch.
I've heard several versions, including the one by the composer itself. I like all of them, but this version by Elena Zucchini is the one I like best because it is bursting with energy.

If you want to hear a perfect execution, look to Raimundo Luco . The same master peace , but a different world .

I really enjoyed your rendition! I'm sure Mr. Dyens would have been honored to hear it, and proud of such an impassioned performance. I have had the pleasure of hearing someone else play one of my (only) compositions...I can tell you, he would have been proud of you. I am nowhere near the level of talent that Mr. Dyens was, but I do know the feeling! 😁 Well done!!
Oh man I used to play this thing. It’s really cool (and terrifying from the POV of the performer I’m sure) to see it played in such a low key setting with a hip looking crowd. She SLAYED. Something this fast, delicate and incredibly technical is insane to perform - you basically have to practice around 6-8 hours (for most people, at least) a day before you can actually start putting your own feeling and nuance into it. Bravo!
Edit: no reverb in the room as well. That shit sucks when you’re playing live dude 😭
Always come back to this performance whenever I need to hear this piece again. So good!

Ohhhhh, maaannnn !!!! Whew ! I am wiped out. This is amazing. Such intensity. She wound me up tighter and tighter to the end, when she let go and sent me flying into the stratosphere. I AM impressed. I love her hair too. Shes got style and shes got a hell of a talent.

Bravo- not an easy piece. Certainly appreciate Maestra’s learning it and her interpretation. Respect all opinions. Reminds me of Granados’ Valses Poeticos and Paganini’s Caprice 24. My guitar mentor posed the question: were these kinds of pieces meant for the guitar and do they sound good on it? Technically I can’t play them, but would not learn them. While it’s adding to the guitar literature, they just do not sound good...

The pedantry in this comment section reminds me why being a classical guitarist is the most stressful thing in the world. If only pianists had to spend a quarter of their practice time tuning their instrument and filing their nails before moving on to the piece itself. Getting a good sound out of a guitar could be a lifetime pursuit on its own, without the music

Jorge Papp being fast doesn’t mean anything. she has a lot to do still
I think tempo has to be like this, but her technique is not enough to play this piece properly.

Well, this is not a baroque sonata, right? Nor a romantic nocturne, but an aggresive end to a contemporary sonatine. I think the best mood for playing this is the one the artist has had, and "cleanness" is a bit irrelevant in this context.
Having said that, Dyens' version isn't to me the best one for his piece.

Je woede koelen op een gitaar. Schitterende compositie, schitterend gespeeld.
There are a lot of technical problems about her, but the most disturbing thing is her ring, you can not wear a ring while playing this piece, it engenders a lot of problems about sound quality at the last section of the piece. Also, she missed many notes which are important.

Agreed, a few rough spots for sure. And the tone is very thin and twangy, heavy on the high end. I'm performing all 3 movements for my masters in performance. It is a difficult piece.
