Yeah that's any ranged class. Even a fighter with a crossbow will destroy you. People who say barb is the most broken class in the game don't main it. There's actually an insane amount of counterplay to the class.
felling axe has the issue of being too short range. war maul is op you just need to know when to use it. if youre out of range and pull it out youll never be able to get in range most of the time.

Barb is in a weird spot right now. They sort of turn the game into rock-paper-scissors in a way that no other class does, where if they face a melee or short range opponent they 8/10 times wash them, but then don't have a choice except fold to range. I dunno if they're OP though, more like they turn balance on it's head in both extremes when played solo (which levels out in trios). That said, HP stacking right now is crazy good. You can take a basically base-kit barb and give him some ale, equip rage and warcry, then pair him with a warlock running power of sacrifice and hit like 250hp with strength through the roof; which is absolutely bonkers even if it'd only be at full power for about 6 seconds. Very fun gimmick, would recommend trying
For 3's, I agree a lot with this. 2's a little less, you need a Wizard with Slow + Haste + Invis I feel against competent duos in the Ruins, will want to still have a small horde of Franciscas just incase you run up against double Ranger. All skills being equal and all that. In 1's like Goblin Caves, its always a tossup. Ranking Barb I lean S tier for 3's in a proper buffball team, A- to B+ depending on comp in Duos, in any form of singles, C. Glad you're making Barb content, I started playing and Fighter was my main and then I swapped to Barb cause...I love just running at people with an axe and being menacing enough people just don't wanna fight me in Goblin caves (Unless its a Cleric, Wizard or Warlock, whom always seem to take the fight with me). Cause works for me, most of the time in Ruins I'm solo and mining, and working with other teams to take out mobs and letting them be. I like being the ultra friendly barbarian miner. And if they pick a fight, they get a war maul to the head or a double bladed axe to the skull. Or I die and spend next to nothing getting back up to speed. XD
Been playing barb for a couple days and I kinda like morale boost. I basically have your build with morale boost instead of crush and I love how tanky we are! Ive played a lot of warmaul but fell in love with the felling axe. With that all being said I find myself running a lot since the enemies seems terrified of my barb lmao! I find it hard to catch up to a ranger sometimes but Ill keep practicing. Anyways, good videos and well explained, barb is so much fun 🤩
You run the axe specs because it scales with Franciscas, and if you’re not bringing in 15+ of those and spamming them (which you should) , you can actually get kited to obvilion once you do run in to decent players (doesnt matter if you have bard wiz)
no you dont not anymore. when it gave a flat +5 damage yes but now it gives a % increase which is very little for franciscas. you shouldnt be getting kited either if youre playing buffball properly.

Been telling my friends this for a while and they are all like "uh duh 95% dmg reduction" . Putting aside that isn't even possible anymore either way barb is still way better. Even with second wind the barb still has more effective health. Now with the new magic resist items on top of the barbarians base magic resist there is no reason to bring a fighter anymore.
A fighter with 66% damage reduction and 120 health which is easy to get, has 360 effective melee health. It also uses a bow or crossbow which adds a lot of range for the team, and is a hard ranger counter due to its additional projectile reduction. Fighter can destroy barbarian in certain situations, it's why often you bring a wizard as barb to haste you and zap the fighter. both classes have their advantages
Do you think war cry is still the best secondary skill to take for solo goblin caves? Do you think this guide more or less work for solo? War Maul feels awful to use (when I tested it long time ago) without buffs, do you think it's still good running it solo?
For solo I dont think barbs that good. barb without being buffed is very lackluster as its easy to kite/1v1 them for most classes it just takes some time. youre slow you dont have super high dmg unless you get onto them you just have to walk at them and try to dodge so its difficult.
The best thing is how much gold this class will make you after killing hydra life stealing warlocks with +magic healing gear and reselling it at top dollar. Iron will feeling really op now
Hello :) Todd I have been finding a lot of success on the barbarian now for 2 wipes, maybe give this build a go or tell me what you think :) Perks: Iron Will, Robust and then both the axe perks, and same stats as you`re saying. For the weapons what have worked good for me, Have a war maul ofc and a felling axe, i rlly only use war maul on fighters/clerics, the great part about running a felling axe second with both the axe perks, you hit for 140+dmg, so you will one shot, Wizards,Rangers,Rogues,Warlocks, i have been running in too problems when i used the viking sword, they managed to run away from me cuz they could take 3-4 hits from the viking sword. + its a great bonus for the franchise axes DMG, i usually run about 8 axes, 2-4 axes kills everyone trying to run away from you.
Also on the side note, with the new armor rating change, i hit 65PDR, Im usually at 65PDR, 50 Strength, and 30 Agi, with bard buffs, a barb in full leather gear got the same PDR as a fighter in full plate xD
I am Korean and I am enjoying the video. I have a few questions. If I use Reckless Strike, does it replace the stamina increase? The next question is, is it better to hold a halberd as a fighter? Lastly, is it better to hold a rentern and a falchion when dual sword ?
I have a fighter guide up you can check out if youre curious and reckless strike can replace either rage or war cry it just depends on which you feel is less useful for you. generally it will be rage.
I think barb in general should basically always be played as buffball. for reference barb with buffball is the best character in the game uncontested but without it hes one of the worst
The problem with this is that you have a few bad runs and then you're broke, back to starter axe running savage and being squishy as fuck. This is a great end game build if you have lots of money and a good team, but the struggle for barb still exists when you have no gear.

Would Warlock be a reasonable buffing character with blood thirst blade and power of sacrifice? 15 Str buff and 3 damage a second reduced by your magic defense to like 1 or 2.
its not quite as good because more str/dmg isnt really what barb needs. he needs to be able to get onto the enemy team as fast as possible and his damage is already incredibly high
You didn’t answer when it’s better to fight with the War Mail vs Viking Sword. Also, vs pve in goblins should I use the sword or the maul? You didn’t say what race is best also. Otherwise, good guide
Another thing is with Rage skill it increases your movement and weapon swing speed for a short time AND strength buff. You can literally chase people down that don't expect it if you have good agility gear. Barb is becoming my favorite ❤
:( Northern full tunic got a huge nerf. Protects less, and the move speed is now -25. Barb moves so damn slow now, it's almost required to have a movement speed boost from a teammate in order to win any fight against a ranged character
Me and my buddies are just getting into “advanced” team play, like I’m playing cleric buffing my fighter and ranger while they go into fights and tank etc, just trying to learn how to do well, and it’s working alright. Your fighter guide helped my friend playing fighter out a ton, but I’m slow seeing if you think it’s worth it for them to switch to barb, or while they learn the game, to just stick with fighter for now? We’ve seen some success with our fighter cleric ranger comp, but we would love to do better of course! What do you think?
if youre playing cleric ranger fighter is much better with that comp. barb is REALLY only good inside buffball specifically a combination of wiz/cleric/bard

Savage Roar is not actually that bad, the debuff is -25% FLAT Physical Power Bonus so anyone under 40 strength will have negative Physical Power Bonus, plus it fears mobs, so I guess it counters hydra too.
fists are good if theyre running but it doesnt kill them exactly fast lol. one handed weapons are great for doorways for example where people are stopping you from using war maul

its actually really good to punch wizards/rangers out if you get right on top of them cause your punches actually do a lot of dmg. and for GC im not sure tbh I dont play barb in it at all so i wouldnt know
lol until you get 2 shot by a ranger, Barb phys reduction is low mr is high. Fighter mr is low Phys reduction is high. Yet fighter can use crossbow, if your aim is decent (not even good) then you can 60% any class with one shot from a crossbow that alreaady has built-in armor penetration, Fighter/Ranger/Cleric or Fighter/Bard/Cleric are the real easy mode.
What’s crazy is barb always have more ehp than fighter with similar gears Which is crazy. What’s the point of fighter if there is someone tankier. Crossy is just one thing fighter has ig, but really doesn’t do anything against good team bc they take cover and heal by the time next shots ready.
Great class to play especially with how oppressive warlock is at the moment. I will say one thing. Rangers that have been a green longbow can just kite you and erase your hp which is awful but not surprising. Hard to catch them unless they’re dumb.
anyone here using any besides Zwei is honestly cheating themself. only PDR fighter is safe and if we are equal built its only 3 shot. and long sword is exceptionally easier to dodge then Zwei.
Just kite barbs, they're slow as hell. They can only do that big damage if they're up close. If you let a barb get on you, that's a skill issue and all on you.

Been playing wizard, every single HR lobby is buffball barb.. died with a 3k wiz kit on. Now i transferred the rest of my gold to my barb who iv been neglecting. i cant wait to piss of people as much as they did to me.
When you're talking about reckless attack and the maul you say it does true damage, I don't think that's how that works, it would reduces armor by 75% and then the maul would then reduce THAT by 30% . I don't think it's multiplicative like that, making it 105%

moral boost has saved me from dying many times, i would run it instead of berserker, to be fair it is personal preference
morale boost is definitely viable its just more hp instead of more dmg out of berserker and I can understand why you would use it

Love fighter but only reason I haven't switched over to barb yet is access crossbows but barb is overall better with the new attributes on clothing

The best melee is bard with drums and 2 crossbows
you dont. you have enough ms to get on them with relative ease especially when youre buffed. not to mention franciscas

barbs can hit 60%+ pdr with relative ease and thats with 200 hp. rangers do not shot any good geared barbarian.

Great class to play especially with how oppressive warlock is at the moment. I will say one thing. Rangers that have been a green longbow can just kite you and erase your hp which is awful but not surprising. Hard to catch them unless they’re dumb.
Rangers are the biggest issue for barbs but you can play around it

I disagree with barb being "easy mode". Shit like that gets classes nerfed into the ground, otherwise decent vid.

anyone here using any besides Zwei is honestly cheating themself. only PDR fighter is safe and if we are equal built its only 3 shot. and long sword is exceptionally easier to dodge then Zwei.
Ironmace never properly nerf barbarian. Really sick of seeing barbs one or two tap every class. I'm getting tired of it.
Just kite barbs, they're slow as hell. They can only do that big damage if they're up close. If you let a barb get on you, that's a skill issue and all on you.

Barbs are designed to be op.
Yeah they are slow but rage gives them extra move speed. And achilles strike francisca combo or whatever reason to you need to fight barb on close quarters, try kite them.
Or you think "fighting barb is dumbest thing why you just run away"?

Been playing wizard, every single HR lobby is buffball barb.. died with a 3k wiz kit on. Now i transferred the rest of my gold to my barb who iv been neglecting. i cant wait to piss of people as much as they did to me.

When you're talking about reckless attack and the maul you say it does true damage, I don't think that's how that works, it would reduces armor by 75% and then the maul would then reduce THAT by 30% . I don't think it's multiplicative like that, making it 105%
tbh I dont know but when youre hitting them with their pdr being that low its basically true damage is what I meant
