try holding it over a bowl so the beads have a less likely chance of flying everywhere! the bowl really helped to keep the beads (at least 99% of them lol) in one place so you dont have to go searching everywhere lol
you can also put tape on one end, that way the beads won't fall straight off the string! i do this every time i make any type of bracelet, and it's such a timesaver and a lifesaver. don't cut the ends off though until you've fully tied the bracelet off, that way it's 100% secure :)
3 days ago I got my first ever Kandi bead set and here I am making my 20th kandi bracelet already 😊 Edit: I have made a cuff, a star ring bracelet, and even more bracelets with charms and coke tabs and more, I'm addicted and I'm glad to be able to teach people how to make Kandi ☺️
So I've been making Kandi for YEARS and I never actually realized until today ._.; I have bracelets for each of my kintypes, so people can know what kinshifts I'm in and such, but now I really want to make some just for fun! I don't go to raves or anything, but I'm hoping that maybe people at the conventions I go to would want some. Even if they don't have any to trade, I think just handing them out would make folks smile. I'm glad that I'm learning about all of this now! This community rocks. 💕
@@THE_solareclipse444 Oh! I'm actually glad you asked, but at the same time it's hard to explain. Um... Okay, so it's different for everyone, but for me it means that I believe myself to be spiritually reincarnated and I'm very in-touch with my past lives. But again, everybody is different, so don't take my words as gospel or anything. ^^;
Kandi isn't just a rave thing, it's also a huge thing in Scene culture! You can wear Kandi even if you aren't scene or a raver or whatever, just have fun with it!
Small Yet Knowing Clown Thanks for the info!! I think kandi is really cool, I’m heavily involved in the scene and emo community and have seen them everywhere! I just wasn’t sure! But now I know
Hello, my ravechildren! Protip: Use a paper clamp to hold the end of the string while you bead. Don't clamp right on the end of the string. Leave enough to grab when you are ready to tie.
i have currently made a rainbow, pan, and bi kandi singlet 😌 gonna work on cuffs after i get used to this update: i now have a whole collection of kandi, from cuffs to crowns to ones with weird items on them. i put an eraser on one and right now its my favorite kandi.
It was my birthday today and I got a ton of kandi making supplies. Thank you for this. And btw we have the same name with the same spelling. I've never met someone with the same spelling. Anyways now I can get started making tons of kandi.
I get metal letter beads and crazy beads from michaels, they have tons of really cool ones... they look more masculine instead of colorful. Making a svdden death one right now for Halloween... can’t wait to see him in Boston hope we get a voyd set 🤘
You can get elastic string its a bit thicker than floss. You can get glass and wooden beads from hobby lobby, or regular plastic bead sets from walmart.
normal string should work just fine for singles right? i used up the last of my elastic for a cuff and i can’t get more until this weekend or even later
Yeah dude! Kandi can be used by EVERYONE even if youre not scene or a raver or emo or another subculture! Kandi is not limited to anyone, Some business casual mf can roll up wearin kandi!
singles with fabric covered elastic has to be easier to make/ tie than the elastic stretch cord ones, seeing how you have to tie those more times than you do with the fabric ones !
Okay hopefully I don't get flak for this but I'm 34 and recently found out about PLUR. Is it weird that I wanna make beads? Also where do I find stretchy string?
Im 31 and just found out abt Rave culture. I have done beading , jewelry art before just never knew it was called Kandi. Anywho, this type of environment seems very welcoming. I thought at first maybe I found out too late, maybe its weird for me to want to go. But then i seen ppl older than myself and older than my hubby. So i felt better after that. Its not just for 18 yr olds or 20 yr olds. We still have time to join the fun. ❤❤ we aint old yet. Lol
Why would it be weird to want to develop a hobby and practice a craft that allows you to become more involved in a larger community full of like-minded people that will appreciate the time, thought, effort, and love you put into your kandi? Not weird at all, my friend. I'm 31, and I just made my first piece of kandi like two hours ago, in preparation for a NYE festival. And even if people for think it was weird, who cares? Do what makes you happy. As for where to get string: I bought a small starter kit off Amazon with like 1,000 various beads and a spool of string for something like $10, and that's working just fine. Then again you can find it in pretty much any arts and crafts store out there. Much love, friend. Perhaps one day we'll end up trading kandi somewhere out there.
last night i was making a single and i dropped it THREEEE TIMES
same i was making one for da homie and i dropped it like 5 times and it took me 30 mins
try holding it over a bowl so the beads have a less likely chance of flying everywhere! the bowl really helped to keep the beads (at least 99% of them lol) in one place so you dont have to go searching everywhere lol
I make my string longer so i don’t drop it
you can also put tape on one end, that way the beads won't fall straight off the string! i do this every time i make any type of bracelet, and it's such a timesaver and a lifesaver. don't cut the ends off though until you've fully tied the bracelet off, that way it's 100% secure :)
Mood-
I had just failed with the string-in-mouth method and my beads went everywhere when I found this video lmao
I failed two times and when I finished and tied it like 5 times it I tied and I’m raging rn
Untied*
im so glad im not the only string-in-mouth person
As soon as I put my last bead on, too... 😢
I WAS SO PROUD!!!

Same
HAHAH SAME
OK SAME
I SHOULD BE GETTING SOME TOMORROW BUT LEGIT IDK 💀
ya always gotta start somewhere :]
I use to make these in my teens. Something someone taught me recently was to double string each bracelet just incase one string brakes.
Hmmm that’s actually really interesting I might try that
I don’t go to raves, but I think kandi are really cool, am I still aloud to wear kandi..?

i appreciate you saying the general average amount of beads per single cuz i had no idea how many to use

Ok I got everything else down I just want to know how to tie it off at the end
does the string have to be the clear plastic or can it be elastic, just wondering because i just started trying to make these
I never thought of this pattern so thank you!
lol I’m so simple…
I’ve been making Kandi for 20years I just clicked on this video because she’s cute 🥰
I’m glad the tradition continues
ty, and for those that the knot keeps coming undone, for me i just had to stretch the elastic a bit and if was all good. learned it the hard way lol
watching this while on acid is the funniest thing ever 😭😭🫶🏽
I’ve tried to make one bracelet 7 times, each time it broke and beads went everywhere. I’ve probably lost a whole other bracelet of beads.
I recommend using 2 srings for a bracelet so incase one breaks it's still okay
thank you so much i just got beads and i’m excited
do you have to use the rounder beads? I have a few of them but most oft he ones i have are flat circle ones
I get metal letter beads and crazy beads from michaels, they have tons of really cool ones... they look more masculine instead of colorful. Making a svdden death one right now for Halloween... can’t wait to see him in Boston hope we get a voyd set 🤘
I’m new to this stuff and it seems really cool! I will definitely be trying this 😼✨👑
PUT TAPE AT ONE END OF THE STRING!!! I ALWAYS do this and it's the BEST solution for making a bracelet.
thank you!! super helpful!
and what type of string do you use
You can get elastic string its a bit thicker than floss. You can get glass and wooden beads from hobby lobby, or regular plastic bead sets from walmart.
Every time i try to tie mine the knots come undone immediatly, no matter what knot i use :(
normal string should work just fine for singles right? i used up the last of my elastic for a cuff and i can’t get more until this weekend or even later
Where do you usually get your beads?
⚠️TIP⚠️
INSTEAD OF USING STRING USE THE STRETCHY MATERIAL!❤
I’m not scene core or go to raves or anything I just think they look cute. Am I still aloud to wear them?
Yeah dude! Kandi can be used by EVERYONE even if youre not scene or a raver or emo or another subculture! Kandi is not limited to anyone, Some business casual mf can roll up wearin kandi!
I put tape at the end of my string that’s a faster and much more safer technique 😅but hope this comment helped someone who needed other options
1:49 yeah I just did that 🤩
edit: I did it again
What kind of string did you use so it stretches???
i love making beads bracelets for other people
I will make one of these! I make my beads out of clay!
And there was scene kids where
Omg can we trade😍
Absolutely! I love PLUR packages! :)
How long does this take tk make it j think your super cool btw!❤
What kind of string do I need?
Do you have to go to raves to practice plur? Can I make plur but not go to raves ?
Not really some people just make them for fun like me since im still underage
Can you do one on how to make perlers?
Are you using an elastic string?
I really want to make kandi stuff. Are there specific beads you need to use for these?
I'm a little late, but most people use pony beads
I love making bracelets especially for other people
That shirt 😍
Thank you!
Look at me night before the festival last minute as usual sitting with my kandi words picked out
Does the string come with the pack of kandi beads?
most of the time, if you get one that does! the one i have does, but you could also buy beads and string separately
Could u use got glue instead of super glue?
my elastic knots always slip out, i guess its to slippery? will the glue help this??
Try tying it multiple times, if that doesn't work use super glue or nail glue
Who is watching in 2024
what kind of string should I use?
singles with fabric covered elastic has to be easier to make/ tie than the elastic stretch cord ones, seeing how you have to tie those more times than you do with the fabric ones !
Where can i buy the beads?
what type of beads did you use
Pony beads are what I use! They come in big packages at hobby lobby, Joann, Michaels, and Amazon :)
How do you tie these? I can't get it
Try this. ruclips.net/video/Q83aku_6AN0/видео.html
If u don’t wanna hold the string in your mouth u can tape one end to the table
What kind of string do you use ?
You got a new sub!
i love how i made a flower cuff, star, single flower and a rainbow cuff before a single-
Can you do a video on how to make ones that are more than singles I can’t find a tutorial😢
I can't sleep so here i am making Kandi at 12:04-
where did you get the beads from
I get all of my beads from walmart online, hobby lobby, and micheal's!
Hi

Okay hopefully I don't get flak for this but I'm 34 and recently found out about PLUR. Is it weird that I wanna make beads? Also where do I find stretchy string?

*You forgot the step where I color my white beads black with a paint marker because I don’t have any black beads*
I KEEP ALMOST FINISHING AND THEY ALL FALL APART :(
What's size of beads should be use for the letters? I bought 6mm from Amazon but the letters were to small.
Me dropping my beads right after the video ends 😾
Whenever I try to make a single, when I put it on my hand no matter how big it is, you can still see all of the string in the back
Well what I do is I have a gap in the bottom of my teeth so
you are so beautiful!!!
36 beads? None of the kandi look like they have 36
right when she warned to be careful that you might drop your string and the beads are gonna go everywhere, it immediately happened to me 😭
WAIT I THOUGHT YOU SAID IT “KAN DI” NOT “CANDY”
