    The Pioneer way of making a slabbed cant from a round log Is hard work but in pioneer days this was how it was done,. Nice work and showing folk at the Pioneer Village to see true pioneer work first hand. As always looks great from The Bearded Carpenter.

    This is great for the people who have to try this. Definitely would advise anyone to watch how ya start the b ax cut. My heart break this year was finding 3 rotten logs midway up and behind the chimney. I’ll be putting it up when I get finished drinking that one off 🤣 . Love your videos and wouldn’t have started this journey if I hadn’t seen your videos. Bless you , thank you

    I got my first log up and ready to make an 8" timber,looking forward to it,maybe this evening I'll get an hour before dark to get to shaping it out going to be quite the learning experience I'm sure,

    Do you let the log dry before you start to hewing it or just start with it green, that pretty awesome how you do that

      Howdy y’all- I like to hew the logs as green as possible because it is easier to hew. I’m sure you can do the same thing. You got a lot of skills. God bless
