Thanks Demetrius for taking the time to react to my fight. I'm humbly honored to listen to your advice and breakdown. This was my first MMA fight. My opponent executed a good game plan and my lack of experience in this rule set was evident. I stepped up to challenge myself and fell short. Life is like that sometimes but all in all I had a great time. I'ma maintain, always learning always growing . Osss❤

Good job mate. Not gonna lie, I was so frustrated watching this. I was praying for you to close the distance and get him against the fence. I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination but you had one clear road to victory and it was dragging him down, tiring him out on the ground and subbing him.

I once trained at a BJJ gym and asked my coach if we could work some wrestling too. His answer was "I don't teach wrestling this is a BJJ gym". I quit the next day and went to the local Muay Thai gym instead. If I'm not gonna learn complete grappling then I'll at least learn complete striking. Too many grapplers neglect the ability to close distance in a fight. They say a lot of fights go to the ground, but all fights start standing. (For those wondering, there weren't any MMA gyms in the area so I couldn't go somewhere that trains both. I had to pick between specialist gyms)

we start from our backs and learn positions from there, but very little incentive to get to there
I once sparred with the gym brown belt, as a joke i left my lead hand in his face, and danced around him (a little game we used to play in the muai thai gym), he couldn't get around it and couldn't get me close to the floor.... i was stunned

The older guy proceeded with stand up even though he was just getting his ass beat, and too scared to try to get a take down because assumed the other guy was a wrestler, even though he's a 5th degree Black Belt in BJJ? Im confused and surprised his corner didnt push him to try anyway. 🤔
