    Antony Ginting seem to use the slice smash with great efficiency against Kento Momota.
    Specially when it goes straight near the side line but mimic a cross angle.
    People misunderstand it's main purpose tho. It's not meant to win points directly but rather open up the opponent defense.
    The follow up shot could be a sharp drop shot, a flick lift, a drive into the body.
    Then the next shot is the killer one if the quality of the follow up was sharp enough.

    • @Bgbadminton
      @Bgbadminton  4 года назад +1

      I think it depends! Sometimes you use the slice shot to outrightly kill too! But most of the time it's used to speed up the game and put a lot of pressure to try and kill the subsequent shots :)
      But at the world class level you almost never expect to 100% kill anyone for any shot... Cause everyone's defense is just so dayum good, especially Kento... yknow what I mean? It's so hard to kill defensive players. Then again Ginting's attack is equally sikk too so it looks as though he planned for an slice and follow up kill.

    From what i see in ur full smash part was, ur full smash swing was way too much which will cause injury. Prevent the big follow thru to the back. If we looked carefully in slow mo, it was like u are trying to hit the racquet to the floor.
    Pronate the forearm as if u try to hit the opponent with the racquet. Just like u did the jump smash with the shuttle. That was the correct technique. But not the shadow full smash drill. Btw your video is awesome bro with the topic of 4 diff smashes.

    • @AfiqSazlan
      @AfiqSazlan 4 года назад

      Asgore YT maybe you can record yourself to see if you’re hitting the shuttle at the maximum height of contact point. Also, see if you’re hitting the shuttle in front of you. When you hit it in front, the racket should have begun to swing downwards.

    • @Bgbadminton
      @Bgbadminton  4 года назад +4

      Couple of things. 1st Are you jumping? It'll help make the shot sharper. 2nd is it because full smash is hard to control? You can use half smash and slowly improve the control and smash steeper and slowly work your way up to 100% power smash. 3rd are you not very tall? If so, learn how to jump smash and really get it steep because you need the shuttle to come down to not hit out at the baseline.

    In flick smash you've to measure the distance from the net, as if you're doing a flick smash in the middle of the court, the shuttle will probably go outside on the other end.

    • @Bgbadminton
      @Bgbadminton  4 года назад +1

      But you can always jump to increase the elevation so it'll still be inside! And usually the flick smash is quite steep, so even at mid court I don't really think it'll land outside. Personally, I think the full smash tends to go long a lot more easily Umer

    Firstly, I apply after seeing video, and I feel that flick smash is the easiest to trick opponent, can be use at all conditions.
    Then, I apply half smash, it is very hard especially at opponent very attacking and sharp high shot. Unless, I purposely stand very near to back court.
    Thirdly, I tried slice smash, never get any points from it alone, there are a few times i do full smash at first followed by slice smash only get rare points of opponent lost its balance due to full smash. To me, it is still because of full smash effect.

    Hi everyone, just wanna say that this tutorial will only be useful (probably) if you have already been coached for a substantial amount of time. Just a disclaimer, being good at badminton requires years of practice and training. This video can only go through what appears to be good fundamentals but there is a lot more that is missing. For example, footwork basics, transfer of weight from the hips, shoulder positioning,hitting the shuttle on an angle, using torque on the wrist. What I noticed from this man's stance showing you the full smash for example, is that he appears to be practice hitting thin air wear the shuttle would have landed mid height (not ideal, it should be higher than that which would indicate from his shoulder position on the height of contact) already for a close range smash. This is not how professionals practice their smash. We practice from the base line because that would test your hieght of contact which is much harder than short distance. For a tutorial video, very disappointed to see the smash being taught wrongly. I may be wrong about the other smashes as I have not gone through them, but the 'full smash' is deceptive at best. You only need to know one kind of smash as a basic.

    • @suckers0
      @suckers0 5 лет назад

      It's difficult to advise without seeing you in action. I'm no expert, nor am I a medic or bio-mechanic, but a bicep injury seems unusual. I say this because normally it's the triceps (rear of upper arm) and forearm (to pronate and supinate) that do most of the work in Badminton when playing shots. It may be worth looking at some of the how to/technical videos on the channels of 'Badminton Exercises' and 'Badminton Famly'. However, don't discount the possibility that as you've only recently started playing it might just be general fitness - a bit of a work out using your arms might be all you need. Good luck solving the problem.

      1-Maybe your stroke is not perfect. You might be OVERusing the elbow in a stroke, leading to imbalance of body parts used in smash amd thus pain.
      2- Your elbow might just be weak and you may wanna build up a little muscle there.
      ^I always get shoulder pain but have never gotten any other pain. I'm guessing it varies from person to person.

    Can do a video on how to train beginners like Grades 3 to 6 kids?

      This weekend's video will be very relevant to them, though the pace of the video will be a little fast. It's an introduction to all the different basic techniques. (for the kids to explore and practice on their own)

    For some reason, all of the shots I hit are like the most easily smashable shots. I always lift it in a way that the other person can just **WAH-PAH** the shuttle onto the ground and score a point. No matter how hard I try it just goes likes that. Like, how tf am I supposed to make the shuttle go over the net and also be low? I'm never able to grasp that concept :/ So yeah lmao forget smashing I'm just lucky I don't GET smashed. If any of y'all have any tips, send help. Please.

      Because you're hitting the shuttle at an angle that's pointing upwards rather than parallel or a lower angle towards the net.

      @amberyadav3147 ohh no. Wish you could have played consistently. It is frustrating to lose every game you play tho, which is what is happening to me rn. But i like playing it because it is good cardio. Let's see what i can do....
