I did try this gel and OMG, I never had so much flaking in my life. I gave it a second try and it was even worse. Just like you said, I felt played. Flakes were flying everywhere while I was diffusing before my hair was even fully dry. I just want to know how many people at Shea Moisture tested this gel before approving it, because they lied.
You have to mix it with water that’s what I do it works very well

Sis thank you for reviewing this. I read several reviews that said that this gel flakes really bad. You just confirmed that lol. I ordered the coconut and hibiscus one instead of this one. I think I will only be using it to slick my hair down for puffs though. Your texture is just like mine…I love your accent by the way.❤️

I am a die hard Eco Styler girl because my hair does not curl at the roots unless the gel is THICK. Also my wash and gos only last TWO days and I wind up flat twisting my hair for the remainder of the week.

This gel is great for locs y’all! Just add some oil all over and then use the gel! It doesn’t flake that way! I love it❤

That is flaxseed for you, cornflakes is an understatement. When I make it I have to make sure there is a lot of water and jbco oil on my actual hair. Its an excellent gel for braidout, twist out, and its a bomb refresher, but it sucks as a wash and go.
It has flaxseed oil not flaxseed gel.

My sister said it was gonna flake. It was so shiny on 2 strand twists but it was dull the next day. I just don't get shea moisture. This flaking shouldn't be an issue. I hope when I pull twists apart it don't flake

I only opted for the shea moisture brands because i wanted to use a more natural gel with natural ingredients. I tried one brand and it didn’t give the best results. I really had high hopes for this one, but they all seem to be the same 😭

That’s one thing about shea moisture gels. You gotta use a super small amount. I remember when I used to use the curling gel soufflé back in the day all you need is one little scoop into your hand and then that’s enough to go over your whole head.
So true. I literally had to dip my finger in the Soufflé and use whatever stuck to my finger for an entire section. That’s the only way I could get it to work. I read on the application description for this gel that a little goes a long way 😂 so I’m guessing it’s the same.
