Good outing. You put the solo through its test. I've used it for some years. It is a good tent - It can handle a storm but more for lower down I reckon. Mark

What an amazing spot to camp! Isn't it strange that when out hiking, sun shining, cool breeze it's easy to forget that later on it could be wet and blowing a gale. All part of the fun though eh? Get some earplugs, they definitely help block the sound of the wind and help with a better sleep. Thanks for the video, great way to spend my Sunday morning. 🙂
@@Twin_Peaks_Outdoors Can't remember the name of mine now but the earplugs are the ones that are designed for sleeping rather than just blocking some noise while working outdoors etc. I'm sure a quick Google search will bring them up but they are a godsend when the wind and rain is battering away. Enjoyed your video Mark.....im thinking about getting the gossamer gear the one tent.....similar yet 200 grams lighter and weeny bit more money......i like your little folding table/pot placemat thingy.....can you tell me where you got that from please?? looks really practical/...... I got some gear tips for you in return......i bought a brilliant little torch off ali express....called a Nicron Duel fuel 90 degrees bending torch ....now the reason why i mention this is if you also get the Outdoor rotatable tactical flashlight holster off ali express you can clip the torch to your rucksack harness strap and its brilliant for handsfree map reading at night or for angling to shine on your path/show you way...both were cheap as chips and practical.. Over the years ive used my petzl nao the best headtorch ive ever owned....very expensive yet amazing...has a light meter built in so will save the battery by dimming the beam accordingly if say walking past lights in a area... Im sure we all know about these but ile mention anyway......sealskinz socks for waterproofing if needed....they are superb. ..and i bought a really cool multi tool which is one of the first in the world to have hot swappable blades ....the Roxon Phantom multi tool....its awesome...you can swap the main blade in seconds and it has great big scissors on it...it was about 50 quid off ebay.....you have the option of ordering 20 other style main blades if you wish too....ive got the same cooking kit as you but am going to get the msr pocket rocket for an ultra light option also....hope you like the kit ideas best wishes.....alex

@@Twin_Peaks_Outdoors cool mark yes do......youle need the tactical holster which it slips neatly into then you can angle the torch onto the trail ahead of you or a map.......just simple and effective...the little nicron torch even has strobe sos on it which was a surprise to me...thanks for the notes on the table i was looking on Ultralightoutdoorgear and seen the cascade so prob get it....but thanks to you i never knew it existed beforehand.....happy days cheers mate....keep going with the lovely vids.
Great Video mark, looks like you had quite the adventure. I’m heading up that way for a couple of night in July & have been looking at these lakes as a possible stop one of the nights. Is the area really as quiet as your video makes out or were there queues of people all waiting to take selfies behind ya. Any Hints & tips regarding this area would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Michael thanks for watching really appreciate the nice comment, this area is quite vast and apart from the odd dog Walker there might be a camper van or two dotted around but apart from that when I was there once you get off the min paths you won’t see a soul and you can walk for miles without seeing anyone 😁hope that helps ATB Mark 👍👌

Hi Mark. Great video. I used to work up there, in fisheries job. How did the LS go with regards rain and wind getting under and in? I haven't tested mine in wild weather yet. Is correct pitching and angle to the wind crucial? Did you get a good high bath tub protection when you pitched it? I'm finding it a bit tricky to get right.

Hi Ian yes we are still using the Abisko it is a great tent and we haven’t had any issues with it so far and we will be using it many more future camps hopefully 🙏👍

Hi Matt, wild camping is illegal in most parts of the UK, but it is tolerated as long as you arrive late and leave early and leave know trace i.e take all you rubbish home with you, around the Teifi pools it is fairly quiet and there are loads of places to camp away from the roads so you should be ok, I didn’t have any problems when I went there and had a great time ATB Mark 👌👍😁
