In the central part of the song the words “Full of hate, full of pride, we screamed for revenge” being followed by “Nightfall quietly crept in and changed us all” is beyond perfect
I'm reading Silmarillion and two minutes ago I read the part where Feanor leaves Valinor and starts his quest. The lyrics of this song are extremelly accurate and epic! I couldn't resist to listening to this song...
Such beauty and eloquence in this song. Notice the perfection in the structure, the beginning and ending are perfectly tied together to create a truly epic narrative woven together by a powerful range of emotions. Inspired by one of the greatest books given to us since the age of antiquity or days of shakespeare. This song means a lot to me, it transcends the boundaries of artistic creation and enters a realm of infinite beauty. One day I hope to have this album in vinyl so I can show it to my children and preserve it's beauty for years to come. When I pass beyond this mortal coil, left behind in my will there is going to a chest left to my grand-children. When they open it inside will be a first edition copy of the silmarillion, our heirloom, and a complete collection of Blind Guardian Vinyl's. Along with a note containing just one sentence, "Say farewell to grief, though long and hard the road may be. Our love is eternal."
Have you heard their Bards Song? "Metal Bards" basically sums Blind Guardian up perfectly. And unlike the rest of metal, they keep on producing better and better stuff as time goes on!
That's a good question where has it been all your life, find some of their older work as Demons and Wizards, Fiddler on the Green is really good. Also its power-metal, but its kinda not at the exact same time.
Melkor's betrayal, the first murder, the destruction of the trees, it was all the fault of the Valar, who failed to regulate Melkor properly. And after it was all through and done, what did they do? They demanded that Feanor hand over the Simarillions, and did nothing to stand up to Melkor. They refused to take up arms against him and were even willing to let the Sindar perish under his rule. The Noldor decided to take a stand. They fought back against the evil and kept it at bay for 500 years. The Noldor payed for the Valar's failure, took on the mantle of the defense of the elves instead and were never even hailed for it. If the Teleri had lended their ships peacefully, if the third Noldor host had come along, if the Vanyar and Teleri had joined the campaign, Morgoth would've been defeated in the first few years of the war and Angband would've been assaulted. But they didn't, none of them did, and the Noldor paid the price, they paid the price for having the courage to stand up and the price for defending the Sindar, even if unwillingly. They were blamed for the sack of Doriath, but if not for them, Doriath would've long fallen to Morgoth's power. The Noldor are not the unwise and rashful madmen. They are the heroes, and the victims, of the Simarillion story.
True but it still doesn't justify murdering your kin because they refused to hand you a gem or some boats (boats who were to them what the Silmarilli were to the Noldor) or usurping your cousin's kingdom after you were granted refuge there or trying to force yourself on an unwilling bride or murdering some random guards once the war was over. Fëanor was an unwise and rashful madman through and through as well as some of his sons and their followers but they give the rest of the Noldor a bad name that they don't deserve.
this band has to win the award for best vocals of all time. hansi's voice has a hidden frequency that can bring back the dead, but no one knows how to refine it to said frequency.
This is one of the greatest songs!!! Great songs, really amazing lyrics!!! I can be listening to it all day long... "Nightfall, quietly crept in and changed us all..." BLIND GUARDIAN 4 EVER!!! Οι άνθρωποι απλώς ΓΑΜΑΝΕ!!!!! \m/\m/\m/
Yes! Beautiful harmonies and such a mighty and truly beautiful chorus! More power metal songs should have choruses like this with thise beautiful harmonies
I really need to read the Silmarillion again. It gives everything that happens in The Lord of the Rings so many more layers. And in its own right, it's still one of my favorite pieces of fantasy literature.
Alright well i don't normally comment video's but it's obvious you put alot of work into that, so kudos, you are a soldier of the metal. keep up the good work.
Im reading this part in The Silmarillion :) Im a novice in JRR Tolkien books, and when I was reading, I said: No! that's the story that Blind Guardians sings. I am in love of both! Best wishes, and sorry my english
Great song, thanks for the lyrics and thank you for correct spelling. Some people just don't care about spelling and give us the wrong one. Keep up the good work!
OVER 9000! THANK YOU 5/5 i could not understand word before exept for nightfall (i thought "never trust the northern winds" was "never trust a moblin") i think (just me) that these lyrics fits with WOW wrath of the litch king
That and more, specifically Morgoth's murder of Finwe, his theft of the Silmarils and Feanor and his kin's fateful decision to defy the Valar and chase him to get them back.

This has got to win the award for most memorable chorus ever.
Blind Guardian is such an epic band
Blind Guardian + Silmarilion = EPICNESS

Blind Gaurdian has always been and will always be my favorite band! LONG LIVE THE BARDS!!!!!
I've never heard a band with such amazing compisition. Everything just flows together so well.

@Bosnium Okay edgelord.
i just love how this kind of music makes you trip to another unreal word all inside your thoughts
God, I'm glad I know what they are really saying now. All I heard was:
"NIIIIGHTFAAAAALL! Buy me a crumpet and save the world!"
I was like, "???"
I've always loved this song. I haven't heard it for probably a few years. I love this song so much.
this band has to win the award for best vocals of all time. hansi's voice has a hidden frequency that can bring back the dead, but no one knows how to refine it to said frequency.
@Spokonzaga, "lotr could be a religion in 1000 years", that makes more sense than anything I think I've ever read. Rock on buddy.
first song i heard by them, and its still my favorite, one of the best bands to enter metal ever
I still remember the first time I heard this, back when I was a teenager.

THE EPICNESS OF MY CHILDHOOD RETURNS WITH FULL FORCE AND ONCE AGAIN GIVES ME STRENGTH!!!!!!!
this song gives me chills!!!! It's just amazing.
Exellent. The departure of Feanor and the Noldors from the sacred land of the VALARS!
For those that have the book, this takes place mostly during the chapter entitled The Flight of the Noldor
Good video. I would say though, he clearly says "Quietly IT crept in and changed us all". You can hear him say the word "it". Otherwise, good job!
This is such a beautiful song
Yes! Beautiful harmonies and such a mighty and truly beautiful chorus! More power metal songs should have choruses like this with thise beautiful harmonies
Another Blind Guardian Master Piece!
I really need to read the Silmarillion again. It gives everything that happens in The Lord of the Rings so many more layers. And in its own right, it's still one of my favorite pieces of fantasy literature.
