That’s certainly not Cranston’s voice on the custom parts of the videos in Walt’s Wisdom. It really surprises me that anyone believes it is, because to me that is absolutely a different man’s voice, without a shadow of a doubt.
Knowing how popular “Breaking Bad” is again I can imagine “Walt’s Warning and the other lost “Breaking Bad” flash games may soon be found in the near future!
That's what I was thinking. There's probably so many people dedicated to both Lost Media and Breaking Bad fanbases that I feel like I can say this hopefully won't be another Chris Farley "Shrek" type manhunt for it lol.
Yup I remember the one in the RV that takes place during the pilot. I made Walt give me a personalized message telling me to stop reading manga and watching anime lmao. It was around 2013 when I first played it so these games were up for the entirety of Breaking Bad's run. Walt pronounced my name incorrectly and has lead me to think that there was a text to speech element present in some form. It also sounded off when he said it. I did some messing around and there's tons of possible dialogue. The game still enters my mind all these years later and it's sad to hear that they're no longer available. I regularly visited AMC's website after 2013 after the Breaking Bad finale and noticed the Breaking Bad section gradually had things removed from them, including the games. I would say that the games were removed sometime in 2014-2015 as the reddit post states. There were other things on the website like production stills from each episode that I cannot find anymore anywhere else now, along with other promo materials that are also gone.
@@wilhelmvg9978 That's most likely the case. I wish I tried putting in some really hard to pronounce words or absolute non sense into the name field to see what would happen.

It'd be really hard to release a game about meth with no issue. The US doesn't like to ban or censor their video games as much as places like Germany or Australia, but a game based on a popular franchise, about making and selling meth, would surely have tons of politicians and companies absolutely pissed. I'm pretty sure that's why they've never been able to give us a proper Breaking Bad game.
It is surprising there's lost media of popular things made recently. I mean. Nowadays the internet could make archiving things easier, but this keeps happening.
It's what happens when someone assumes it's safely backed up. It keeps going along the chain and sometimes there isn't that one guy paranoid enough to save a copy and that's how things get lost. Or maybe that one paranoid guy is the one we need to hunt down, they just don't know it's disappeared yet. Sometimes you have to ignore the idea and save it for yourself just in case, and once in a while it actually pays off. I've never saved anything that didn't get reuploaded lmao, but it doesn't stop me from saving when I think something'll disappear
It doesn't surprise me that much. You didn't have to download Flash games to play them, you'd just visit a webpage. When you closed out of the browser, that game was *poof* gone. At least, it's possible it was still in the webcache, but from the user's perspective it was gone. This differs from a typical PC game which you _have_ to download and install to even use. It's more akin to a RUclips video in that nobody has to download it, leaving us open to the possibility that nobody did.
Hey it's you! I recognize your pfp, but now that I look at it carefully it worries me that it could be mistaken for AI generated "art"... I don't even know why, to be fair I must have been duped before without even noticing. Kind of worrisome.

Chances are it might not work in that way anymore even if it was recovered. I think all the messages they made have been recorded at this point. You can probably still customize the image though. I think Walter burning furry porn I have saved on my computer would be funny
The Leave Brittany Alone meme being only two years old at that point really reminds me just how old Breaking Bad is. I know it premiered in 2008, but I never really noticed how long ago that was, I guess. Maybe it's because the show only finished around 2013 (wow, even that's almost a decade old now...) or because I watched it during its second coming after its inclusion on Netflix in 2015. Who knows? It's not as recent as I keep thinking, I suppose.
That is certainly *not* Bryan Cranston’s voice for the custom messages on Walt’s Wisdom. I’m 100% sure that’s not his voice. Blows me away that anyone was fooled by it, but they did do a great job with the editing especially for the time.
Look up "Breaking Bad Season 2 Walt's Warning" on RUclips. There's behind-the-scenes footage of Bryan Cranston recording the scenes for the game. It most definitely is Cranston's voice used for the custom messages. Due to sound compression being used to keep the audio file sizes down for flash games, Cranston's voice get's a bit-crushed and might not sound like him at times. Keep in mind since they probably recorded hundreds of different lines for all the possible names and states, they had to compress the sound files so that the flash game would run on a web bowser of the time.
What most likely makes the flash files “unplayable” is that they’re just the code and static assets. The processing of the name and location parameters, and maybe several other parts, would have interfaced with a server that AMC obviously doesn’t have running anymore.
eh... if there really were so many recorded lines, then most likely a lot of the data-files were stored on the server and fetched depending on what the user submitted, and so there's no way to recover them unless the company has backups of the entire thing.
I still have my personal video saved till today. never have I thought that this show would become such a huge success. That Walts Wisdom and Warning is considered "Lost media" today ist also completely unrealistic to me
Early gang. These 'games' looked great. I wonder if making something like this would be worth the hassle these days, since it would most likely need to be a mobile app to reach the most people (as opposed to a website you can simply visit rather than have to download).
I'm certain it could be done with HTML5. RUclips has 360 degree videos so that part is definitely possible. Probably the most difficult thing would be the fire effect but you could do it with canvas element I'm sure. Then it'd work on PC and mobile. Make a tiny browser app that just goes to the one webpage and you have a mobile app. For that matter, if we had the videos in their original form, it probably wouldn't be difficult to convert to HTML5 to revive the social experience.
I just want Breaking Bad game!! It doesn't matter if it would be like gta or even interactive movie like walking dead, i just want to see thia characters again!!
So why isn't it in the swf file? I've never decompiled one, but my understanding was you can decompile it easily like a jar file because it compiles to some byte code. Action script is just a different implementation of the ecmascript that JavaScript implements.
It's because what we have is just a loader. It was common convention at the time to have a Flash Movie that will download near instantly due to its small size, just to put up a nicer loading screen than the default while the main Flash is still downloading. This is called a "loader." As such, Wayback Machine will often capture the loading screen but not the main Flash itself, especially if it requires hitting a Play button before downloading anything. The Wayback Machine is just a bot. It doesn't know that hitting Play would cause the main download to begin. This has naturally caused a lot of confusion, with people claiming to have "found the game" and thinking the reason it won't play is purely a compatibility issue that can be fixed by someone with the technical knowhow, not realizing there are still giant chunks missing. You can identify a loader because they're usually 15 KB or less, much too small to fit an entire video sequence like this into. A typical Flash game is around 300 KB to a few MB in total. Even if we ignore that though, it's also possible that the main Flash would act basically as a media player, similar to how RUclips worked when it was Flash based, streaming the video itself from another URL. We can't really know the implementation since what we do have is a tiny slice of the whole game.
I know…It SOUNDS like Walt, but the way he speaks makes him sound more demented than he does even in the later seasons. Plus, something about sharing that RV with him feels so strange, it doesn’t feel like you’re inhabiting that world with him, it feels more like that RV IS the world, like there’s nothing outside of that van. Add that to Walter’s familiar mannerisms yet unfamiliar way of speaking, to the point it almost feels like he’s a clone of himself, something just feels very off about the entire thing.

i thought having breaking bad as a video game would be impossible.

but this flash fame are actually good idea too

it's extremely unlikely a cache would be enough. most likely they were server side video/audio variants, no way the game would cache the thousands of variants of audio that weren't needed.
This is golden meme template material
it is extremely unlikely it went gone when flash died, because archival of flash content started as soon as it was announced it would go down.
