Instead of using compensation, I would suggest using manual mode, and taking a spot meter reading from a part of the scene which is has a medium tone. The face of the model would be my choice for the meter reading. With this method, the photographer is in total control.

Dear Mark thank you for your very informative videos.I am a beginner in photography and i watch tutorials in youtube to get some theory and next to practice. After watching this video i have a question about the long exposure.I understand that we have to set the A to the maximum number and the ISO to the lowest while the shutter speed in long exposure.Well, setting to apperture priority the camera won't change the speed? As i watched other videos when we set in A priority the camera changes the shutter speed by its own. Can't wait for your reply.Thanks.

Because this is shot in Aperture Priority mode the camera will set that for you. Generally 10-30 seconds will be enough if you are shooting in manual or shutter priority modes. Start at 10 seconds and increase incrementally until you've got your shot :)
Mark, I thought it was strange in this segment of white balance choices that you showed us examples of when the balance was off color and you told us the change in settings for solution, But You Never Showed Us The Corrected Results ! I thought it was quite the missed opportunity to actually learn from the advise you were offering ?

Using manual mode to dial in the exposure is the best way, but if you're not as experienced or simply want to work a bit faster, exposure compensation is a great tool! :)

Nice video of photography techniques. I prefer this kind of videos than those done by reviewers cum measurebators who have the gall to say straight-faced (some cannot contain their eye blinks) they're not paid by the manufacturers, etc.

You're right that when you're in Aperture Priority, the camera will automatically assign the shutter speed for you.

Just found your channel and I love it thanks for the videos.
Thanks for explanation could you please tell what kind of focus mode and area mode you are using for long exposure?
We use manual focus for that added control, but you will be fine to use auto focus for most long exposure photography
Thanks for replying 🙂

For good light streaks what size lens? I have 55mm and 300mm lens.
Can i use this also in sony h400v? thanks in advance
Love your videos sir. Please tell me which video editing software you use for your videos?
:)
Can you suggest me the best wildlife photography lens for canon aps-c camera..?
The longest focal length that you can afford. Canon ef- s 55-250mm . or 70-300mm.
For the light trail, you mentioned to
set to the aperture to it's highest f-stop number, and the ISO to it's lowest. But how about the shutter speed?
Because this is shot in Aperture Priority mode the camera will set that for you. Generally 10-30 seconds will be enough if you are shooting in manual or shutter priority modes. Start at 10 seconds and increase incrementally until you've got your shot :)
When one chooses apeture priority, shutter speed adjust s automatically
What do you use (camera and lens) for your go to travel camera? I cannot ID the camera in the video
It's a Fujifilm X-Pro2 with a 23mm lens.
Best tips..thanks :))
Thanks to you..helps me a lot 💯💯💯💯

Nothing wrong with it, you just need the right adapter! :)

How many seconds is this light track exposed?
60+ sec maybe
can anybody explain to me, why you would use exporsure compensation instead of just dialing in the exposure you want?
Using manual mode to dial in the exposure is the best way, but if you're not as experienced or simply want to work a bit faster, exposure compensation is a great tool! :)
Thanks

Don't see the set shutter time?
Where did the stationary bicycle go?
The bike was gone by the time the photo was taken. That is the reason why you don't see it in the final image.
But you forgot tell us where to focus and which Matrix or spot Metering Mode to be used.
