The music itself is actually written by a Scottish man, and is called "The Gael", if you're curious. But this was the soundtrack to the 1992 Last of the Mohicans movie (based on an American book from the early 1800s about the French and Indian War).
So you're a Scottish guy listening to a native American play music written by a Scottish guy.

Just to correct you....."The Gael" is the first song in the movie last of the mohicans .....THIS SONG is the song from the part of the movie where they run to save that one white chick from the mohawk guys. At least be accurate with your criticism.

Alexandro is from Peru but a lot of the South American natives from Peru speak Kichwa which is the native language of the Incas. The Incas were brutally slain for the gold they had. They were victims of greedy people just like the North American Indians were. I think any one who can play music to remind us of these great lost civilizations whether North or South is a great thing. Alexandro plays with so much heart and passion. He honors these people.

It is such a powerful song. I can't deac how I feel when I hear it. I'm Native American, my tribe is was only officially recognized about a little over 50 years ago. We are Snoqualmie and we lived in the western side of Washington state. It's crazy when you think about it; we Native Americans actually got our right after African Americans and woman. My grandma wasn't able to learn her own culture and my great grandma was forced into one of those schools for Natives(so many children died, she doesn't talk of it). The government long ago made sure we'd die out eventually by making blood quantity laws(so eventually there would be no more qualifying tribal members and the government can take back any land we struggled to get). So now my generation is mostly not recognized because we don't have enough blood quantity (we would have to resort to incest to keep the quantity up😒); and we barley have any of our own culture left. We are trying to learn all we can and continue practicing our culture, but it's challenging with how much of our culture was snuffed out. My great grandma×4 was a Native princess, though not many in the world know of her. She is someone I look up too, in the pictures of her she looks so depressed and upset😢, but she's so kind and hard working 🥲. I don't hate America or Europeans or anything, I just hate the the spicific people who are still allowing such things to happen due to greed/racism. Not many talk about the racism toward Natives. I had my fair share of racism in school....and that's in the 90's - 2,010's. I'm 25 by the way😅. I hope for a bright future for all of humanity & nature🥰. I don't understand hate and violence; I know how it happens, I just... don't get hate and violence.

I can completely sympathize with you because I'm an Asian American..I know we're different race but we had our fair share of problems also. You see....my dad his 1st wife were from a small country called Laos where they lived in a small community in the hills of Laos. He would tell me stories saying that when he was a kid growing up, he learned how to farm and grow his own crops and animals like chicken, pigs, cows and many other stuff but...when the Vietnam War started...the Laos government declared genocide on the Hmong people (To put it in easier words, Hmong people were like tribes in Laos at the time) because we helped the United States CIA in the Secret War in Laos and so our people were forced to migrate across the Mekong River into Thailand and eventually take a plane to the United States. When he got here along with his 1st wife and children (My 1st brothers and sisters), they didn't even understand English at all and struggled to make a living. A few years later after his 1st wife's death, he remarried to a 2nd wife (Which is my older sisters and my mom) and every day I went to school, I would also face racial discrimination at times also. I just recently graduated not too long ago in May of 2022 and I hope that things will change in the near future.

He IS really the best! I came across this video on Alexandro's RUclips channel just before Christmas and it did make me cry. I must have watched that video at least 15 times consecutively lol. I couldn't get the song out of my mind. He is such a talented performer, truly an amazing gift that he has. He had mentioned in one of his previous videos that he meditates while he plays and that can explain why he is so enthusiastic about his performances. He started playing the flute when he was only 3 years old, amazing! However he is not a native American Indian he is actually from Peru even though the Peruvian people do in fact have Indian heritage. He left his country in order to find work to support his family back home. He's become quite a star, he travels to China, germany, Poland etc: love him!

My great grandmother Mamie was full blood Native American with Seminole and Cherokee heritage . As I understand her father was named Drowning Bear . She married a decendant of Irish immigrants named Splawn . All her life she gathered household items and clothing and gave them to her Seminole relatives on trips to Florida . My. Grandma Mamie Splawn passed while I was in US Navy A School , training to be a radar operator . My family didn't tell me of her demise until I had graduated , lest I become distracted by grief and fail the curriculum . Please find the time to react to the songs 'Seminole Wind' by John Anderson , 'Cherokee Fiddle' by Johnny Lee , 'Cherokee People ' by Paul Revere and The Rebels , and 'Come And Get Your Love ' by Redbone. Edit . Look for the two videos of Seminole Wind , one is of the band playing onstage , and the other featuring footage of Seminole people in the Everglades.

Thank you for reacting to this video, I find it very moving. I see in some comments that some folks don't feel Alexandro is Native American. Actually, though Alexandro is a native of Peru (which he does not hide). He IS Native American, the North, Central and South American Indians share the same ancestors.
Where did the Indigenous Native Americans originally come from?
The ancestors of the American Indians were nomadic hunters of northeast Asia who migrated over the Bering Strait land bridge into North America probably during the last glacial period (11,500-30,000 years ago). By c. 10,000 bc they had occupied much of North, Central, and South America
Please don't act like the people who try to find the differences between peoples, that is the sort of thinking the Europeans engaged in that they used to justify their despicable behavior toward the Natives of the Americas. ALL OF THE AMERICAS.
Alexandro wears several types of regalia, including Peruvian to honor ALL Native people. The love, emotion, and peace people feel from hearing Alexandro's music only builds more interest, and empathy for all of the Native Americans.

Just be mindful that there tends to o be a great amount of exaggeration about the wrongdoing of whites and a whitewashing of wrongs done by the native Americans. The history is far more balanced than many would let on. The Cherokee, even as one of the better reputed "civilized tribes" for example have their troubled history with slavery, even during the Trail of Tears (where slaved were about 10% of those forced Westward who did the most work and got the least recognition) all the way to the Civil War (where they enthusiastically fought to uphold slavery, and passed their own Black Laws afterwards as bad or worse than Jim Crow). Even in recent years they stripped their former slaves of tribal citizenship and benefits centuries after the fact.

/backward. The matter of how to place the flag on the sleeve is also important to note. Much like how soldiers are instructed to wear their official flag patches on their uniform, a civilian should wear the flag patch so that the stars are in the forward position in the top corner as if it were flowing in the wind.

I hope he disclosed this so that people weren’t misled, otherwise he’s culturally reappropriating American Indian culture (he is anyway): see statue of a Lakota elder (plains region) and what looks like a traditional porcupine hair roach he’s wearing (New England, Great Lakes and Missouri River regions)- these have sacrosanct meaning. His gimmick is a pop-culture caricature of the noble “Native American Indian.”

I love this movie, but I'm hoping that you know that this beautiful song was written by a Scot, Dougie MacLean. The name of it is THE GAEL. It is performed by the Royal Scots Dragoon many times over. Dougie sold the rights to it for the movie. There is NO better version than in this military tattoo from 2008. Not a Native American song. You'll also note that the girls father in the movie is supposed to be a Scot. You cannot listen to this all the way through without tears in your eyes. ruclips.net/video/2eSL6Nv2ZdQ/видео.html. Dougie is also known for his song: Caldonia. So bittersweet.

If you're interested I have a short list of movies and shows that highlight American culture really well that I think you would enjoy. Some are true stories while others are fiction, but the setting, events, and culture are realistic.
    HBO's John Adams series
    Highwaymen
    Godless
    Hell On Wheels
The Wind: Demons of the Prairie

That’s the way it was all of this land before you brits came over to this land and stole this land from us and made the colonies here. And the shells he was shaken is beeds inside of shells to represent the sound of rain. He also has a piece of wood carved to be and owl that he blow into to represent a eagle sound. It all means one with the land and nature and the earth. And that is his natural native tribe dress. You should see the native tribes in North Carolina it’s called a pow wow it happens 1 time of year and it has everything Rez dogs dancing in native dance dress music.
