Oh my God..if I could hug you right now!!! You just remove the fog from my brain about this mechanism...I wonder why they pay all these teachers we have that cannot teach...Thank you sooo much!!!
You are definitely my best friend as of now!! Thank you so much for this. I'm watching the chymotrypsin video next. You added a lot of clarity that I really needed. :)
Great video. "Lysozyme only breaks the NAM-NAG bond. It does not break the NAG-NAM bond." Out of curiosity, what is the enzyme that breaks the NAG-NAM bond?
Thank you, and true. Technically, lysozyme only breaks the NAM-NAG bond, although for simplicity, most talks just say lysozyme does it all. However, the NAG-NAM bond is broken by a glucosaminidase, which has an identical mechanism (for all intents and purposes). In fact, lysozyme is a glucosaminidase, but the two enzymes are actually different. Here's a source. bmcgenomics.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/1471-2164-6-19

You explained very well. Thank you very much!!!
Beautiful video, very clear! Thank you.

Thank you!!!!
Hi :) I was wondering what the concentration of lysozyme in human saliva is? I couldn´t find it anywhere on the web, could you please help me?

"Lehninger Principles of Biochemistry" is one good textbook I used.
