Hey everyone, there was so much more I wanted to say in this video that just didn't come out, but above all I want to acknowledge what a huge impact my Mum has had on who I am as a person and what this channel has become. Knowing how proud she was of everything I've achieved over the last six years on RUclips makes me never want to give up on a single upload or opportunity that comes my way. But family is the most important thing to me at the moment and always will be, and right now my time is dedicated to them. I also want to help and be here for any of you going through similar situations as I know I won't be alone. I truly believe that love is an incredibly powerful thing and as long as you hold someone in your heart they never really go away. Thank you for all your kindness. Love you x

I lost my mom last December just before Christmas and I just had to come here to not feel so all alone in my sadness.

ColleenPrice I agree. Twenty-something is way too young to lose a parent. You expect the circle of life to go on and to lose a parent when they are elderly. No one should have to lose a parent at such a young age.
Dearest, dearest Alix. There are no words of sympathy or encouragement that could possibly match the magnitude of the loss you and your family must be feeling. I’m sorry for the hurtful, unconstructive words from uninformed people over the last few years (yes gurugossiper, we are looking at you...). People somehow feel they have a right to comment on the 2% of peoples’ lives they see in videos, when 98% of the time they don’t know anything about the private struggles and battles of the person they are watching. I applaud your honesty and politeness and composure in this video. We aren’t owed anything by you, and it takes a strong person to share.
As someone who recently also lost a close family member to cancer, I hope that you take as much time and space as you need to grieve. I’ve learned that time doesn’t heal wounds-whoever made up that saying hasn’t ever felt true pain or loss. There is no true healing or forgetting or fixing or filling the void or “feeling like your old self” again. One cannot be unchanged by profound loss. However, over time, there is coping and pushing through and finding a new norm and forging a different future. And in that new norm, there will gradually be a few less tears, a few more smiles, and maybe even some joy. I promise. That will take time, but it will come.

Thank you for saying this to her so beautifully because it is all so true. After a loss you are never the same person and the most important thing is to take a step back and allow yourself to grieve.

Its such a horrible thing to go through in life. I lost my Mom at 18 and had no idea how to grieve. A little advice looking back.. take time. Take time for yourself. Take time to cope, to cry, to think about great memories. If you are able, take 2 months off work and refocus your life. RUclips will still be here. SO MUCH LOVE!

I lost my mum to breast cancer at 28 and can relate so much to what you are saying. Your mum sounds just wonderful and as though she was your biggest cheerleader (which is just how I thought of my mum 😊). Alix I am so sorry for your incredible loss. I lost my mother from breast cancer as well and in two days its the 10th anniversary of her passing. She was my biggest supporter also and my best friend. From what I have seen on your videos for the years I have watched them, she would be so proud of the woman you have become. It actually breaks my heart to know that you have to explain yourself to others when you're going through such a difficult time, and especially after losing your bestfriend and lover. I have so much respect for you and have watched your videos since day one. You've always made me smile when times are hard for myself and you've always inspired me to be myself and nothing but myself. Your mum is so right in every way to be proud of you, you create such amazing content and never fail to be the net person you possibly can. You're such a beautiful person inside and out and it's so understandable that you're not going to want to be on RUclips at the moment, your life is your personal and private life. You shouldn't have to worry about viewers getting upset about lost content because right now that's the least of your worries. Oh dear Lord. Well I wasn't expecting that Alix. You know, I never really comment on your videos (or anyone's actually) but felt compelled to say something. I'm so terribly sorry for what you've been through, along with your mother and the rest of your family. You're still far too young to have said goodbye to your mum. You seem like a lovely girl so clearly she did an amazing job and had a big impact on you. Just wanted to send my condolences and say I'm really thinking of you. Very brave for telling everybody... you didn't owe us an explanation but I see people demanding them all the time when people don't upload like they used to. You've actually done well to keep it going at all, let alone regularly uploading. Anyway, your mother is in a better place now without suffering and I hope she rests in peace. Xx

I know it was hard but seeing you go through such difficult times really helps a lot of us going through something similar. I am so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you. I lost my mother to breast cancer last November and lost my father to cancer six years ago. I prayed after my mother passed away that no other family would ever have to lose a loved one to that horrible disease. I gladly wanted to be the last human to lose a parent to cancer if I could spare anyone else the same pain. Take all the time you need to grieve. I can tell you that raw aching wound that you feel now will start to heal. It will never go away, but it does become bearable. It is a cliche for a reason, but time will help you heal. There will be moments when a friend, loved one or family member will say just the right thing at the right moment that will make the pain go away for a fleeting second. I hope you have many of those moments because they are what gets you through the initial grief. The first year is the worst because there are so many first occasions to live through and mark. You will feel like they will break you and you can't go on. They will pass and you will gain strength and endure. Cry when you need to, ask for hugs, spend time with your puppy. The love of an animal can heal almost anything. My cats helped me so much during those first awful weeks and months. I want to let you know that you will get through this. The raw pain you feel will ease. You will get be able to think about your mother one day without wanting to cry. I hope I can give you hope that it won't always be like this.
