Too bad California doesn't have the same standard. My granddaughter was murdered at age 4. Her killer served time in general population for less than his 25 yr sentence. He was released last year. Child killers should face capital punishment regardless of State.

Hate to say, but as a person with some psychological issues, I don't think he feels remorse, or guilt regarding the murders, and any sadness he feels is only for himself, getting caught, not being free, and not getting to be with his mistress.

I was angry at my ex-wife because I had to move 200 miles away from my daughter. However, I never imagined hurting her. The idea of hurting my daughter is something I can not imagine. I have no idea why Watts went this far or it even came into his head.
Isn't it a shame that his family didn't enjoy a fraction of the protection he now has in jail? Why does he deserve protection from the other inmates? If ever there was a deserving recipient of the death penalty, Chris Watts is your poster boy.

Chris Watts also caused irreparable damage to all involved in the case. The men & women who had to retrieve the babies bodies from the oil tanks have suffered unimaginable emotional trauma. All involved, in this horror have been literally damaged by what they were exposed to in this case.

I just love the way you minimized Nicole's involvement in this by not saying much, and saying that she thought he was separated, which is a lie. Through her interrogations, although done very unprofessionally, she did say something about him saying that he was going to get separated, but she still knew that he was not yet separated.

Seems like they never fully investigated the possible role of the girlfriend in all of this. I believe he said none of this would have happened without her.

I woke up in my sleep this morning thinking of the moment his daughter Bella apparently said “don’t, daddy” just before he killed them near the oil tanks. Why the f did he have to do that? Beautiful innocent girls. It haunts me and always will.

He did ie about everything else to the law enforcement & FBI though until he got caught and had to confess with another lie saying his wife murdered the girls. He finally admitted he was the one that annihilated his whole family, not Sha'Nann, his wife. Both os the individuals, plus his family were evil people.

I live in Colorado and this story was played all the time. That girl knew he was still with his wife as they were trying to figure out how he could just cut ties completely and not have anything to do with the girls or wife. It never showed if she knew a murder was going to happen and they couldn’t prove it which is why she isn’t behind bars. Edit to add: she got so much hate and death threats that’s why she moved and changed her name.

I find it astonishing that because of the murders the house sold for much more than its value. In UK Fred & Rosemary West house was knocked down.
NK drove Chris into a fevered frenzy that he couldn’t navigate. This woman is more involved in this crime but she received a pass. His marriage was over and I don’t think he wanted to save it but Shannan did. Financial security is a big part of a successful marriage and neither Watts understood it. Chris should’ve moved in with his parents and took care of his obligations to Shannan and the girls. If he didn’t want to be married anymore he should’ve been firm with his wife and moved on.

I keep coming back to this case just because the complete diabolical nature of it makes my head spin. I mean don't we all (or at least most of us) harbour dark thoughts from time to time, even if only briefly? I mean angry thoughts fly into my head like vultures, but it is up to me whether I let them make their nests there. Life is difficult after all, and we all feel a little hard done by at least sometimes. I went through a divorce, and I hurt the ones I love, and I too was hurt. Divorce is never pretty for anyone involved, particularly children. But what this guy did was ultimate level insane evil. It's just unfathomable. Lord Have Mercy on the souls of the deceased, even upon him and upon all who are directly affected and finally, upon all of us. Humanity can be really really messed up.
