Very happy with this video- I've been trying off-and-on for over a year to get this score. This is NOT 1st place, I'm still 200 points behind that, but that run hit a stupid 3rd activation squeeze that I had no interest in going for. I'd rather take the 200 point hit and gamble on making it back in the FSA squeeze rather than kill 9 out of 10 runs 3 minutes into the song, effectively giving myself one good run every 30ish minutes. Big nty.
I had a really odd FSA activation on this run- I missed the front end. Usually I would activate far too early and end up losing 200-600 points on the back end, so I was focusing really hard on waiting to hit select until the latest possible time. I did that well, I even could have waited another 2 frames or so, but I didn't wait to hold down the B note. That got hit immediately, a few frames before I activated. An ideal activation here could probably yield another 400 points over this, but at that level we're dealing with absolute frame-perfect fretting and activations and it's just incredibly unlikely to be hit. With that being said, I do think I am capable of not just tying 1st place, but beating it. Whether or not I decide to go for that in the future is yet to be determined, that might be enough to drive me crazy.
Also, apparently this is the first time I've shown off my 760 Creations custom-built guitar on RUclips! I shared a pic of my JP guitars on twitter, but only the real ones saw that (go follow me / awisemoose . I've had this guitar since May and oh my god it is absolutely incredible. JP put tons of work into perfecting his 3D models for this guitar and it shows.
Here are the specs for you fellow nerds:
-Mechanical frets (Kailh Choc Pro Red w/ 50g springs)
-Kailh Box Royal Navy Blue strum switches
-3D printed fret buttons
-3D printed strum switch bracket
-3D printed custom modeled strum bar (which is incredible btw)
-3D printed whammy bar assembly, start & select buttons
JP also made me a Wii Les Paul-based Arduino guitar to use on Clone Hero with similar specs above, but with slightly different strum switches and different models to fit a Wii LP. JP lately has been streaming himself working on custom guitars over on his Twitch channel, go give him a follow if you haven't already!

I still remember the day when I actually beat this entire song on Expert. It was one of the best accomplishments of my life. Sadly I've still never managed to get past "Raining Blood" to this day.

@@MavTheGamingWolfo a perfect example would be from 7:21-7:29 notice how he perfectly times his star power so that it finishes just as he hits the last note of the song, also most players know they hit the squeeze by seeing if the flame after hitting the note is blue or red, blue meaning they got the squeeze or red meaning they didnt time it correctly, so thats how you can read their reactions, hope this helps, theres more to it if you decide to look into btw

The thrashy breakdown puts in so much tension and buildup that gets released in the extreme tapping, so that helps to make this legendary song even more legendary than the individual parts by themselves.
The fact that you're using 3D printed parts is awesome. josh designs actually 3D prints entire controllers.

Can we appreciate how massive the front and back end of the last activation is? I replayed that section of the video in x0.25 like 6 times just to see it. Incredible job, I never could activate slightly late in any song to save my life so it's fun to see those squeezes being performed (but I guess it's really annoying to do them). GG!

Am I the only "One" (pun intended) that can actually hear the bass? I've listened to this song so much with bass that I pretty much automatically hear it as soon as it comes in.

I mean, the bass was literally turned down to a point that it isn't easily audible, and the mixer for ...And Justice For All talked about it. If you can hear the bass, then you're either listening to a remixed version, or the drums.
@@dragonknightkx2393 That's what I'm getting at. I've been listening to "And Justice for Jason" (AJFA with the bass mixed back in) so much that when I hear the original tracks, my brain automatically puts Jason's bass back into the song even when you can't hear it.

My favorite FC of yours, not just because Metallica is my favorite, but the fact that this run in particular is so sophisticated. You play like a damn robot and I like that. I know this FC isn't perfect but it's an insane score.

I think they need to remaster the guitar hero franchise for the current generation the PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Switch. Some of them were only on specific consoles like the original guitar hero game was for PS2 only. So the original remaster would be a PS5 exclusive. Guitar hero 2 would be exclusive to PS5 and Xbox Series S/X and from Guitar hero 3 on they will be on all three consoles.
For the digital copies of the game they just put a download voucher with the guitar that you purchased. for physical copies it would remain the same as before.

Microsoft passed up on Guitar Hero, and the Wii wasn’t even out before Guitar Hero III released so it couldn’t have had GH1 or GH2.

Also, it looks like you one hand the B and the first two trips so that you're leading with your left hand... is that so you have more time to get to the trips after the activation? Does it make the transition and elbow strum easier/harder?
Yeah it just makes the transition easier if I start off by one-handing. It also allows me to press select
