The Transformers episode was titled "Auto Berserk" when Red Alert's logic chips were damaged by a Decepticon attack.
Dope review dude, I really didnt notice all those subtle differences in the pics. Good eye man. Yeah, def a niche character, think I'll pass even at the low 75 dollar price. Just got Sideswipe as a gift. Love what Takara's doing e capturing cartoon likeness.

There likely won't be a Masterpiece Jazz, at least not one that turns into a licensed Porsche, as the company said that they don't want their car brand to be associated with Transformers because of how violent it is.

The back of the robot mode was different in the cartoon. The backpack was the back of the car so the spoiler etc were his shoulderblades... Would have been cool if they'd even faux parted that.
Unfortunately, our initial allocation of this figure which is already en route to us has been sold out. We have secured some additional units, but the price was higher than the original batch. Great figure I love that they included the head bit to recreate the nervious paranoid Red Alert. That attention to detail is why I will track down and purchase this guy. Thank you for the great review Paul.
Optibotimus, Henkei Red Alert had a red head as the Hasbro version had a black head. Nearly every classicsverse figure was given a G1 accurate paint scheme over Hasbro. Astrotrain, Red Alert, Galvatron, Cyclonus, and so on. That is how they got their rep as being G1 cartoon accurate vs toy accuracy.
It seems at random at times, but Takara does tend to favor G1 accuracy over Hasbro. MP 10 was much more subtle than Red Alert's paint scheme.
Mp Prowl and Smokescreen are coming out in June. Along with a Yellow repaint of Sideswipe. TigerTracks. I guess we'll get Clamp down and Deep Cover as well.

If Takara can make a MP Sunstreaker, that would be awesome and complete the "Lamborghini" trio. Hopefully, Takara will make more iconic characters like Bumblebee, Hound, Mirage, Wheeljack, Ironhide, Ratchet and such. But Takara really needs to make more Dinobots. They made Grimlock and they have to make Swoop, Sludge, Snarl and Slag. Takara, listen to us, the fans. Please do that for us. What do you think, Paul?

I went from not being interested in the figure to preferring him to Sideswipe. Then again, due to the wider chest the mold has, it really feels that it was intended for Red Alert, despite SIdeswipe being released first.

Dude I hope so too..... BUT I wouldn't get my hopes up - just yet. Hasbro, or rather Takara, doesn't appear to be making molds that they can use only once.
you could have red alert in vehicle mode with the cannon on his lights to act as like a water cannon to put out the fires

the red head thing happened in henkei as well, henkei red alert had a red head, and then years later hasbro gave us a black headed red alert. i really found that bit odd, as well as in this instance.
Oh shit I remember that episode too! Much more clearly than a lot of other G1 episodes.
Confirmed Masterpiece Toys: Mp-19 Smokescrean, Mp-20 Wheeljack, Mp-21 Bumblebee, Mp-22 NEW Ultra Magnus, Mp-13b Soundblaster with Ratbat. That's all are know.
Although weirdly Lamborghini got licensed no probs, but as Lamborghini are owned by Audi, and Audi are in essence owned by VW! Kinda makes them not wanting their company associated with warring robots rather redundant!

@optibotimus I think the episode that the sparks are referencing was the episode with the Immobilizer.
I LOVE Red Alert, he was my first G1 and will always be my fave.
He does have a bit of mixed up animation vs g1 look. The original Animation had white thighs where as G1 toy had red thighs, but as you said Animation had Red head where G1 toy had a black one. MP14 is basically a nice mix of the 2 looks.

Red Alert's cartoon model was based on the G1 toy. :)
Takara is always based off the cartoon colours. It's Hasbro that use the G1 toy colours

@optibotimus I thought mp-10 was based on the cartoon with the silver roller and dark blue. The hasbro is bright blue with a blue roller. I forgot about pre mp-08 masterpieces because I don't own them, and they do disprove my rubbish fact in a major way. Rodimus prime by Takara is very cartoon acurate with black boots. The Hasbro one is G1 toy colour. I'm off to investigate *investigates*
So basically Red Alert's cartoon was identical to the toy (sans head color) and Sideswipe not so much
@optibotimus I was just trying to be informative. You seemed to think Takara go with the G1 toy and you found it strange that they went with the animation on this one. But Takara always go with the animation. I'm gping to take my fact back if you don't appreciate it lok

Since they announced Inferno coming out this November, I ant find him anywhere lol.
