Hey Dave, fellow Aussie here and former DSW, I also miss my long-term clients and work mates. I miss my family most of all but also miss our beautiful clean beaches of Oz. I really enjoyed your video, so glad I found your channel. I feel blessed to have grown up in Australia but like you said, it's become a case of work, work work and work more just to pay the bills. Sadly, the younger generation will never experience the life we grew up living.
@donnabosilkovski7580 yeah it's very rewarding career that's for sure. The south of Thailand has some crystal clear and clean beaches. I really feel for the younger generation! Thanks for watching😊
I have no regrets what so ever about my parents deciding to immigrate to Australia when I was a baby. I just don't like what the government had done to it. It was called the lucky country. It's far from lucky now. It's not the same Australia that I grew up in, it's so sad. Thanks for watching 😁
Great video Dave.. Time does make you think of the past, of the things, family workmates and friends that helped shape is into the people we are today, You have come so far on your lifes journey and it is so nice to see you settled down with your lovely wife Noi, in your amazing new country that you now call home. G'day mate. New subscriber - Fellow Australian - here. Agree 100% with all you were saying about living in Thailand. Went there this year and enjoyed the stay tremendously. I felt free - that was one of your reasons to move to Thailand too, as I recall. I'm roughly your age, I suppose, and I am considering moving to Thailand. Last 4 years taught us all a tough lesson and showed the true face of the grubment. It was a real eye opener. Unfortunately, this happened in all Western world. Anyway, that's a different topic. I miss the Aussie climate. If one is to be honest about Thailand. It's just too hot most of the day if you like being active. Going to an gym in Thailand doesn't really do it for me.
I love the climate here in Thailand. I'm used to being sweaty all the time while out being active. I admit the extreme heat in April is a bit much, but then I go swimming to keep active. Thanks for watching 😁
I think your situation similar to mine. I retired to Los aged 56 and now 60 living off super. Btw, l miss nothing about Australia except for my kids but they all busy with their own lives therefore no point in hanging around. They very us sometimes here in Thailand anyway.
Yeah to be honest, I really struggled to think of things that I miss. If I didn't talk about my bike being knocked over and talk about the channel at the end it would have been a very short video 555. Thanks for watching 😁
Good on you Dave. Well done. Big move. I like Pattaya myself. I find I can buy anything I want down here including sausage rolls and great pies. I have a condo in Bangkok but prefer the beach. I live in the centre of pats but I’m a gym junkie day person 10 pm is a late night for me. I have enough Thai for small talk and most locals speak a few words of English. Anyway good on you for making the move over here
Oh I know you can get sausage rolls and pies and stuff. The ones I miss are Villi's. They are big local Adelaide bakery. I could probably find better than Villi's here, but they ain't Villi's, 555

Nice update. After 3 years being here I think the thing I finally can`t get over is the lack of upkeep most people do in front of their homes. High grass, old junk and trash strewn about seems the norm in most areas of rural Thailand. I do enjoy the enthusiastic thumbs up I get from some villagers as they drive by watching me sweep my street of small rocks and dirt build up. A close second is a decent liquor store that sells more than one choice of American Whiskey. But how I love it here!
Is that one choice Jim Beam? The 7 Elevens in our area sell 12 yo Chivas Regal! I prefer the 18 you Chivas, but hey. I just subscribed to your channel, I'll check it out later. Thanks for watching 😁

Hi mate, I'm from Adelaide too. Lightsview. Great channel so I just subscribed. South road and main north road gepps cross can be a nightmare too. Impressive guitar work. How'd you retire to Thailand at your age? I'm 53. Thanks for the video mate. I'll check out your other videos too...
South road and Gepps Cross are indeed busy in peak times. But where I live all the main roads are like that most of the time. I was 56 when I retired. I sold up and moved here. I will have money to last until I access my SMSF which is performing incredibly well. Thanks for your support with subscribing and watching😁
Can get fish and chips most places in Thailand, Hamburgers are better in Thailand ! Can get freshly made sausage rolls all over Thailand, lady makes them and sends them, best things they are too

Can I ask one personal question if you don't mind. Did your Thai wife/GF put up any money at all for the house you are living in? or contribute in any way monetarily to your relationship or are you the primary source of finance?
My wife is a lawyer. She has 2 houses she never asks me for anything. I offer sometimes, sometimes she accepts sometimes she doesn't.
