I am facing that problem. This phenomenon is not in developed nations only but even here in South Africa. Banks, insurance and other government institutions if they want to sanction you economically they do it with ease. You can be a victim while people walk next to you. People who know what is happening look away or Participate too
You should be asked for this information, you should have a say in that matter, we are talking about this people having boxes with more than 50,000 facts about you, they could know you better than your mother, they could understand you better than you understand yourself, with this information they could develop software that could manipulate you in extremely insane ways.

For a while on my RUclips account the algorithm was filling my feed with ads specifically directed toward surgeons and emergency physicians. It was very weird in that I’m a retired bookkeeper. Also, I rarely watch healthcare or medical themed videos.

@ annenelson5656 remember when we join Google we provide them with so much data about ourselves we don’t even realise. You gave them your date of birth when you open your Google account. That piece of data explain your age and possible conditions you may have . Another thing is some people receive emails from their doctors with prescription or when we swipe our cards at the doctors room or medical aid send you your bill or statement with what the doctor did on the consultation. This documents might be locked unfortunately Google can open and view them. They won’t admit but makes sense how they get data about me and you

Part of the plan is for us to know about them and their plan or the power they wield in society through third party. Then they deny it to cause confusion and curiosity. Ultimately majority of our people will submit to their demands and be obedient servants who will never challenge the big brother authority. Even the assumption of confidentiality is far fetched. The apparatus is self perpepetuating and unreconstructed definitiin of national security. The term itself has become corosive and antithetical to our perception of liberty.
We should all have a means to be "off grid" if the need ever arises. But don't think that corporations nor governments won't forcefully try to enter our lives. They want control, we the people must hold them accountable for stealing our identities; no matter their religion, race, or class status.

Every highway every street has been fitted with cameras or sensors on the lights to surveillance the population and public doesn’t care with all this cameras including my family. I have never seen people who are comfortable with someone watching them like South Africans and they do nothing. They are blocking me from contacting few journalists who have written about this topic here in South Africa. Political parties don’t care to raise this issues in parliament
