- His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji interacts with his amazing parrots and other birds at Shuka Vana Aviary of Avadhoota Datta Peetham, Mysore, India.
The parrots in this video are African Grey, yellow naped amazon, sulphur crested cockatoo, eclectus, dusky lorikeet, conures and blue and yellow macaw among others.
In this video, various parrots sing, repeat, chant the holy names of God and make funny sounds. The parrots are looked after holistically and cared for greatly by Sri Swamiji and the shukavana staff.

This is possibly the cutest video I've ever seen. Many may say that the birds are cute in this video, but I believe Appaji is even cuter :-). His ability to communicate with these birds is just fascinating and it brightens my whole day just to see Him laugh and play with the birds

Jaya Guru Datta ! Appaji's dedication, luv and sincerity has made possilble in a very short time this Shuka vana to happen. It is nowhere near to our imagination that how birds flock all over appaji. These birds association with appaji seems to be since many janmas or births. Fabulous healing music and the birds colours association with zodiac sign is remarkable.

I find this video full of many amazing features. The love, tenderness and joy exhibited by Sri Swamiji is is felt directly by the viewer. The birds seem to respond in kind. Their intelligence with their speaking is so surprising. And some of them are speaking with total confidence and enthusiasm! I also just love to look at them with their colors and vivid beauty. What a wonderful video this is!!! It is so soothing that we forget the world when we see Sri Swamiji with the birds. We love the "Nama:Shivaya" birds so much. This video made a marked difference in our minds. We both watch this video early in the morning and see it as many times as possible before going to work and the moment we return, we play it back. Wonderful Appaji... possible only to Your Holiness. Taming the birds, the cruel minds, getting everyone in the right path. Your Holiness is showcasing that Pure love has no bounds and can make anything happen - irrespective of the birth and state of the being.
This is not just a sweet video, it is a masterful presentation of how parrots can enjoy respect and love and live in harmony, perhaps bliss. "Birds of a feather" do, in fact, fly together, but here we have several different kinds of conures, cockatoos, and bigger parrots not only sharing space without any signs of jealousy or territorialism. More importantly, while many parrots can talk, it is much harder to teach them when they are with other birds so Swamiji definitely has a way with birds.

How closely the birds interact with Appaji indicates how all beings are naturally attracted to One who keeps only love and compassion towards all and unconditionally. Can we speak in a parrot's voice and language if we dedicated our lives to it? Are the parrots in this video in their comfortable jungle home? Are they interacting with someone their size, strength, and species? Are they showing any fear or inhibition? They have totally won the heart of Gurudeva with their love, eagerness for his company, discipline, and obedience. PS. I also meant to tell the good news I recently heard. That the bald eagles are making a comeback from the endangered species list. Even within the City of Pittsburgh, 2 families are nesting and raising their young. I celebrate the birds!
