Thank you so much for this video, will be bringing a German shepherd into our family this Friday. I’m nervous about getting the training right with a big dog (have a 5 year old beagle already). Your videos are already helping me feel more confident with her training 👏👍
Thanks for all of the great tips. One thing that I do disagree on is that telling your puppy no or making some kind of sound that means stop what you are doing. Both of my dogs know this and they behave. This doesn't mean getting mad at them. Dogs do this with each other and they perfectly understand without taking offense.
Can I just say that I am so happy you are doing this series and it's the most perfect timing... We are getting two German shepherds, brother and sister, that were just born yesterday. It's been a long time since I've had a puppy in the home (my old lady is 13) and it's wonderful to have some refreshers and learn more I never knew! We have 3 younger kids, so I want training to be cleaner and more intentional. One of the dogs will actually become an ESA for our son on the spectrum, so will require more than I can give, but I want to set a good foundation from the get go. These videos are a blessing! Thank you for taking the time to do this!! And Star is just so stinking cute 😍😍
Be careful when they start to mature….even though they’re siblings, dogs dont realize that & the “smells” & “hormones” take over!! 😬🤭 (if you get my drift…)

You’re videos are extremely helpful!! What kind of training treats do you use? His kibble is not a high enough value from him. Also, do you have any tips for carpet biting? Thank you in advance!
Hello Is a crate advisable for a puppy or not Most videos use crates as an integral part of training So is it good to get one or not If yes then what should be the measurements for a labradror puppy that is 8 weeks old
Yes yes & triple yes!! It should be big enough that they can stand & easily turn around, but not big enough that they have enough space to go potty in a corner & then lay in a different corner…if that makes sense
This video will be very helpful to me because whenever my puppy see's me he will start the bitting and the teeths are very sharp it was very painfull and many injuries happened in my hands and legs this video which u uploaded in correct situation is more helpful to me thank you for the video
Our puppy learned that "Off" means 'I get a treat'; so he bites more, it seems. When we try to redirect him with a toy; he gets frustrated that he's not getting what he wants, and (if you're low enough) jumps at your face. How do you handle that scenario?
The best thing I've found is to move away from him, no drama involved, and tell him to sit. Then when he sits, say good boy and give him a treat. Then procceed to call his name, wait for the respond and then give the toy. Literally put the toy in his mouth. Then call again and give treat. Look up the late great dr. Sophia Yin. She helped me so much with our 4month old Sarplaninac puppy with the biting. I just redirect his attention away from all the nervous energy. Works great. The main thing about all these drills is consistency. Every day is a day to grow and learn with your puppy. Spend quality time and you shall reap enormous rewards. Best of luck Barbara! :)
My GSD is 5 month plus. His bites are getting deeper. We tried everything but when he starts biting he doesn’t stop. Walking on leash he holds the leash & starts playing
I’ve read that you shouldn’t train a pup not to mouth your hands as it won’t let them develop a good bite inhibition. Instead use the yelping technique when they bite too hard. What do you think?
THANK GOODNESS - for addressing 'taking treat gently' - my cuticles are raw !!!
been waiting for your upload!! thank you ~
You made the video!! I was looking forward to this because I always go to your guides! A week and a half till I get mine! 🙏🏼
Thank you for these great videos! They have been so helpful with training our rescue puppy!
Your channel is the best for training a puppy! Keep up the great videos because they are fantastic!

@@kerrihiggins2106 Yes but some breeders request you wait until a certain age….so just in case yours does…be wary! lol 😁
What is the perfect age to get them neutered?

maybe he's biting you because you're not human
Whats that tik tik sund just b4 giving treats
It’s a clicker. You use it to mark desired behavior. But you can just use a word as well. Like saying “good” or “yes”.
