  • Great news is that my loader has a cabin now! I love how it looks and how it feels inside. I also solved the problem with one of hydraulic cylinders that occurred in my previous video. In general, you’d better see how it was 😉

    It really is impressive to see that machine coming together. I agree the proportions look correct. Cabin space seems larger than most machines which has its pro's and con's. Best wishes to all.

    One more thing Lucia. A dead man switch is probably a safety feature to save the operator from sticking her neck out at the worst moment? It would be a serious predicament if anyone were hurt while standing and operating the machine. In the form of a safety bar you must pull down to keep you in the chair in order to make the machine work. I admire your work. You are certainly a superb person at manufacturing .

    Very impressed by your work. I would suggest drilling some drainage holes in the bottom of the foot well and inserting rubber bungs. At some stage you'll want to wash it out and removing the bungs makes it easy. Also the short coming with many skidsteers include limited hydraulic oil storage, cooling and stability.

  • @johnrobertson7583
    @johnrobertson7583 8 месяцев назад

    Almost finished! Wow...looks great! I have been following the build. We call the hoops over a cab "rollbars" and they are designed to prevent the loader from crushing the operator if it turns upside down...this requires of course a seatbelt to keep the operator in the cab...if you are making a cab only, then the steel should be 1/4" (6mm) minimum to serve the same purpose and give protection from heavy objects falling from the bucket...

    Glad the hydraulic problem was a simple fix. In the future try warming up the cylinder seals in hot water allows them to stretch a small amount and as you know being a fabricator a little bit is a lot sometimes. Happy to see your progress. Awesome video. On the hydrolic seal, what a lot of DIYers will do, is soak the seal in hot oil, so it gets softer, then it stretches just enough to go on. Not sure if that was the reason you had trouble or not

  • @AndyFromBeaverton
    @AndyFromBeaverton 8 месяцев назад +1

    1:45 As soon as I saw you bending the metal I thought there was a potential for error. You have to be millimeter precise.
    5:38 Maybe you could create a hydraulic lift to raise and lower the seat?
    You are a good singer.

    This is turning out really well. Give yourself a good amount of clearance between the boom and the cab. As the bushings wear you will get some shifting on the boom. You don't want it to hit the cab when this happens. Plus under load the metal will have some flex. Better safe than sorry.

  • @AW-Services

    Merry Christmas, Lucia & your husband. Didn't expect a video today, but wow, what a great update and cabin build.
    Will your cabin be okay with lateral boom deflection and movement under load as it's going to try and side shift towards the lower cabin supports

    That seal being bad should only made it bypass oil internally but not leak external. If it was leaking on the outside. The seal that goes in the head itself will be bad also. Have rebuilt many where I work. And that seal if you run hot water over it for a few minutes. It will soften and stretch over it easier. Once on than you have to massage which will shrink it back down just enough

    • @luciasworkshop
      @luciasworkshop  8 месяцев назад

    Ha, it' looks sharp with the cab, the only thing I'm not so confident is when hoses almost scratch on the cab, in the upper corner those come too close for my opinion. Working around and with some vibrations those might touch, making your day go bad instantly. Other than that, it's great to see the "almost" results of your efforts and I'm really hoping for the best outcome. Cheers, Ljutsija, keep it going. 😁

    Nice job i love the cabin design so far but umm ... you might want to add a roll cage ... at the moment if anything substantial like the ground, a tree etc drops on the the thing metal it will fold below the weight. Yes they take away space but it is easy to make a small mistake that drops a heavy load ontop of the roof so a roll cage is a nice thing to have
