I was thinking the same thing: the bears know that Patrick’s yard and porch are safe places for them. Even the neighbor’s house is safe. The neighbors greet bears in a gentle way when bears are nearby. The whole area between the houses is safe for bears.
When Patrick Conley's bears are back, the world is on an even keel again. There has been heartbreak and hardship, but it is really good to know that things are beginning to settle down. An incredible pointing out of house rules and the acceptance thereof! Surely, these are the most vocal cubs ever. We are all very thankful that we may once more be guests on the porch.
Listening to them say yum, yum, yum, as they eat seed is hilarious. I feel so bad for them, their natural home was more than likely destroyed by the hurricane, what's left is an active construction zone, and they lost their bear way of life. They found a safe place in your yard and obviously momma needs a rest, she knows she and her babies are safe and sound under your watch.
Patrick is very bear savvy and knows how to behave around bears. Bears will threaten if they feel unsafe, but prefer to retreat after making themselves heard rather than attack. The obvious exceptions being a mother bear who sees her cubs in danger, or a bear whose escape route has been cut off. If you study bear attacks on humans, nine times out of ten the human will have done something stupid, and/or obliviously blundered into bear territory and got stuck between a mother and cubs.
One of your best videos, Patrick! They feel safe in your yard and on the porch, but respect the boundaries established, maybe get a little sassy about it, but still do in the end How you, the other people around you and the animal life must enjoy the peacefullness of night time after hearing the cleanup all day. May you never have to go through this again!
The bears want to get out of the scary happenings in the woods and go somewhere where they feel safe and they all know where that is.😂 Much love to all the bear lovers out there ❤
Everyone is looking so healthy! So good to see after a tough year. And good to hear you sounding like the same old Patrick we love so much! We’re all grateful for you, sir.
How amazing that they feel so relaxed in that place that Lola can bear-nap on your flagstones and the cubs can play and show their bellies... you are a good and wise person, Patrick.
The way Lola looks at you. She looks so sad like she wants to ask you what the heck happened and where's all the food and water? Poor things. They've had their home uprooted like the humans have. I hope things get back to normal for them and you and your mom Patrick and everyone else.🙏❤
I bet Ruby told Lola all about the wonderful man on the porch. That little one is a cutie. What beautiful moments you capture, Patrick. Thank you for sharing. Cheers!
Animals are so much smarter than some humans think they are. With all the trees down and the landslides and roads destroyed, she still got her cubs back to Patrick's buffet and safety! I betcha she didn't even need GPS to do it!
And when he just quietly said "back up" to the little one on the stairs, the little one immediately turned back around. Their level of communication is impressive.
You are the BEST, Patrick. Doing your best to look after these guys and make them feel comfortable when you’re not in the most comfortable position yourself. So honorable and I think they are verbally telling you how much they appreciate it. Glad to see a video from you since it’s been a little while. Glad you are doing ok. Thank you for a great Sunday morning treat. Take care. ♥
It makes me glad to hear the chain saws and the back-up beeping of the heavy equipment. People are rebuilding! I grieve for the loss of life and property in your area of our country. 🙏
Poor things. Their itchy coats are probably from all the contamination in the waters. We could all use some fresh rainwater to flush the creeks and streams a little.
Just makes my day whenever there is a new video from Patrick with our favorite black bears! Thanks Patrick, hope you are well and your Mom too! Have a great day! 🥰
Been watching Patrick’s porch for ages and yet I am still blown away at how so many bears come along and are so comfortable and chill walking up his stairs and bringing their cubs along, then laying around like it’s a spa for bears!
Lola and her cubs are so lucky to have found sanctuary in your yard, I cannot imagine the terror they must have experienced during the storm, and the stress they live with now trying to navigate the devastated forest, while avoiding the scary heavy equipment of the cleanup crews. Bless your heart for providing this safe place for them to rest and recover! Lola still seems a little weak, and I wonder if she is finding enough clean water to make milk for the cubs, but, thanks to you, at least she can relax for a little while. With your gentle but firm guidance she and her cubs will soon learn proper "house manners" and become the perfect guests. Right now everything in her world has been turned upside down down - literally, judging by the footage I have seen of the forest.
I like how Lola listens to Patrick. I think Lola is still careful around Patrick, but she and her cubs do their best to communicate with Patrick. For example: Lola laid down on the steps in a very relaxed way, showing Patrick that she wasn’t going to get any closer. I would swear the bears understand the word “no”. The bears calmly turn around when Patrick says “no”.
Luv luv luv the sweet sounds while munching out. I am sure sound of chainsaws is a bit nerve racking for Miss Lola Momma. How wonderful they have a safe place where they can retreat from cares. Many blessings! 😇 🐻
Oh my goodness-cuteness overload! From Mama sitting on the walk like a dog, to Baby playing with your shrub, and then both babies yum-yum-yumming…brought tears of joy to my eyes! Loved it when Mama crawled halfway up the steps, yawned, and sprawled on the steps! This is an adorable and SMART family, who knows where they are safe. Thank you for posting this today, Patrick!
Thanks Patrick for sharing these videos with us. Bears and their behaviors are so interesting and cute to watch. And their interaction with you. It's amazing!! I could watch these all day. Cheers to you and yours.
When you went to check on the cubs, you saying "Be right back" to Lola was priceless - dunno why, it just was! And it's so funny that when Lola is told not to come up the steps, her compromise is to lie down on the steps LOL! It's just so good to see you, Lola & the cubbies again. The world feels immediately better. And our bears look wonderful! Thanks for this, Patrick! ❤🐻🧸🧸
I'm probably not the first commenter to say as much, but by all appearances and evidence the event of Helene and its impacts seem to have brought out something new and remarkable in the relationship between Mr. Patrick and his bears. Reàlly, how many humans--zookepers included--get to witness what transpires here, especially those sounds of the cubs chowing down!
You would almost forget they are wild animals! 🐻 So intelligent too.. Perhaps Lola is one of the cubs from a past visitor.. She looks so tame and her offspring feel confident seeing their mom so relax!
When Lola was looking at you I felt she was looking directly into your soul. I’m glad you gave the bears 🐻 something to eat Patrick because this is the time of year they need to fatten up as much as they can so they can survive a long winter hibernating.
I don’t remember any of your bears being so comfortable on the porch. Like they would be ready to call it home. In 4/4 you’ve got the gate locked and now I see why Mr Conley, this new brood is of a different ilk. Not habituated, but comfortable ne’er the less. They’re a beautiful set of bears. Lola is a lovely mum.
Oh Patrick. This is just so heartwarming. 🐻🐻🐻❤️❤️❤️Lola knows she can rest with her cubs safely with you present as a protector. I am sorry to hear about the water situation still not being resolved. I’m glad you’re able to provide for yourselves and the bears. Continued prayers for you and all those affected by Helene. I used to think that was a pretty name. Not anymore. God bless you all. 🙏❤️
Oh dear, I can't describe how glad I am to hear your voice and watch your bears again 😳❤️😊... would gladly exchange your background noise for a bit of Alarm Bella 🤭
Momma knows they are safe playing around in your yard, so she can rest. She understood no, no. They all seem to understand. They’re funny noises when they were eating.
Thank you for giving them seed. With all the construction and demolition noise I bet a nap on your patio felt great! Poor animals had their homes disrupted too!
Beautiful bears 🐻 they must be hungry, all that chatter from them,so enjoyed the seeds ❤ I hope you're family are well and safe take care from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤
Thanks again for bringing us these videos, we know the trauma of the hurricane, has not even begun to be dealt with yet. It is however incredible and heartwarming to see these bears back visiting 🖤🖤
Thanks for caring for the bears. They all look exhausted and it's so great that they can rest in your safe yard. it has to be so hard on them with their habitat damaged so severely. Hope water is restored soon for you.
Very concerned we have not seen Ruby or her cubs. Even starting to tear up. Have become quite attached to your videos. A bright & hopeful space to visit.
Thank you Patrick for providing a safe environment for Lola and her tribe to hang and chill. Especially after the catastrophe that Helene left behind for us. You're a kind and gentle soul.

Lola & The Rascals, sounds like a '60's girl pop group! Lola was a bit too boisterous at times! The kids making those squeaking noises was pure magic. Thanks Patrick and always stay safe.
Go play in the woods somewhere! But Patrick, they were having a great time at your place! Stay safe & keep teaching these new "friends" the manners you expect of them!!❤
So beautiful how your place is a shared territory with all these bears. I loved to see Lola napping on the front walk way in front of the porch-she is totally at ease and at peace there. A gift to view your posts. Thank you.
The trust she has already she has with you and her cub. She must either sense you are kind to bears or she has trust for humans not to hurt her cubs. Amazing
Omg 😍 just love watching your videos. A couple of noise little eaters the two cubs. But Lola and her cubs seems to really enjoy being around your house and your porch
How lovely to see the mischievous bears and hear your voice sounding strong again, Patrick. Oh that fluffy bear just hanging out on the walk visiting you made me smile 😊 then climbing the steps. They do love to be with you. That one is pruning your bushes for you lol. Thank you for this video. I surely do miss them since the storms and I miss Bella keeping everyone in line and alerted. Be well.
They feel so comfortable at your place even though there is workers across. they really look good considering everything that happen .they just want to relax n stay awhile visiting you❤😊
Life is very difficult without potable water. I hope you and your family have enough bottled water. I love to see Lola and the cubs. The noices they made eating the food made me laugh, but I think the noices are warnings. They look healthy and relaxed.❤❤❤Thank you for the video. Greetings from Spain.❤❤❤
Patrick, you guys have more than a bit of telepathy between you. 🌎🌿🦋🐻🧸🌲🐦🌛✨️ Beautiful to watch. 🩵 Baby bear sounds added to our list 'o favorites. #naturenoises #savethewildlife
Even with all the construction around you, they still feel safe on your porch. Thank you for sharing Patrick.
I know right?! Lola knows Patrick's porch is a safe zone even with the noise of lawn work and construction.
@ Penny, I hope you appreciate Patrick as much as I do. Have a wonderful weekend.

Yes, well said!!! ❤
Very true!❤
Are the bears hibernating now?
Somehow the word gets out among bears - "That Patrick Conley is ok - go check out his porch - he's a buddy."
😂😂 vous avez raison
Exactly!😂😂❤❤
Listening to them say yum, yum, yum, as they eat seed is hilarious. I never thought that bears would mean so much to me on a personal level. They listen to Patrick and are so gentle.
The fact that they understand the word NO is cute 😊❤
The tone of voice conveys the message.
i wonder how well NO will work when the bear attacks? not so well i imagine. Bears are all cute and cuddly until they are not.

I love to hear them talking when they eat! Such cuties…
The dominant cub was telling the little one to back off and wait.
I never imagined they'd sound like that.

Yes. The emotional connection between Lola and Patrick is apparent and touches the hearts of all.
Still praying for Simone and cubs. Also Ruby.

Seems like Uncle Pat's porch is the only sane and peaceful place left in the world.
