@@zylik2112 funnily enough ive only heard that quote once and it was from a Greek and because it sounds like something Churchill would say i just believed it. and i can believe you already know during WW2 Greece was the only European nation to help Britain fight in Africa and in WW1 Greece opened a new front and helped Britain with Bulgaria, then during the Napoleonic wars Greek loyalists joined Britain to fight napoleon. im not sure how but Britain and Greece never really bother each other yet Greece always has Britain back when it needs it most, so not only are Greeks heroes in my eyes anyway but i dont know why Britain doesn't have stronger relations with Greece than it does France or Germany or america

Having completely beaten the Italians it took major assistance of German units to finally secure Greece under Axis control. However, instead of surrendering to the Italians, Greece refused to surrender to them and would only surrender to the Germans as they never actually lost to the Italians.

Reminds me of the Battle of Québec in 1775 (the first time Americans tried to invade Canada). Americans were invading and had conquered Montréal, but they reached Québec City in December. The battle started on the 31st, in a massive snowstorm. The residents and soldiers were on rooftops, sniping the Americans from on high yet ineffective against them. The rooftops were speaking French and they were PISSED!
