I love how this song can thrust me back to 1990 something 😊 someone below commented this is a masterpiece. I agree. 30 years later I’m still moved by Trisha’s sound.
A shiver goes up my spine everytime I hear this song - and I challenge anyone to say there isn't a song out there somewhere that doesn't throw you back to a certain time or someone.
I fell in love with this song the very 1st time I heard it- it hit me right in my feelings that I hadn't thought of in a very long time. I've now been happily married for 30yrs, but there's always, for most of us, we have a someone that was the one who got away. This song brings him back to my memory & my heart, regardless of how much I adore my hubby. I think its one of the ALL-TIME BEST written country songs- and it had to be written for Trisha to sing, bc her voice just blows these memories up even bigger. Cannot imagine ANYONE EVER singing it as well as Trisha, let alone even as well as she sang it. I don't think 90s radio ever gave it the justice it deserved. Its just one of those one in a million songs, and she's def one of those one in a million singers with the powerful emotions & vocals she adds to this song. If anyone else sang it- I don't think any of us who love it, woukd feel the same about it if it hadn't been Trisha who recorded it. Not to forget- whoever wrote it- deserves the same mad respect Trisha does. Its just one of my top five faves of the 90s. We do have great music today, with great voices singing- but in my humble opinion- NO SONG will EVER compare to this one. Even all these yrs later- it still has the same affect on us as it did the 1st time we heard, by reading the comments, I see I'm not alone in cherishing this absolute gem of a song. You're one of THE BEST of the 90s Trisha- and wish radio still played your music. especially this one....... goosebumps all over, like its the 1st time all over again. You're simply UH-MAZING!!!! #TrueYearwoodFans ❤
No artist or song nails the sentiment of a song taking you back to relive those treasured moments in time. Music is how we mark our lives. Thank you Trisha for summing it up so beautifully.
Actually, it was Hugh Prestwood who should be thanked "for summing it up" when he wrote the song. I can't think of anyone else who could have sung it any more beautifully than Trisha Yearwood did, but without songwriters, singers wouldn't even have the tune to hum, let alone the words to sing. (I am so glad H.P. got T.Y. to sing this one.)
NO ONE.... and i mean NO ONE can tell a story through a song like Trisha Yearwood... Flawless is an understatement.... No SONG.... and I mean NO SONG has ever been better written to the story of what music does to the soul.... like this one.

Hi there Thanks for your love and support that has brought me this far, it has been a hard time for me going through this but your love and support keeps me going and standing strong in this difficult times. I do read your heartwarming comments and I truly appreciate all you’ve done for me throughout the years. It's been around 20 years since I last heard this song. I couldn't tell you what the lyrics were. I couldn't tell you now what the lyrics are. Yet, as the song opened, I sang aloud with every word. So even if I'd forgotten all about it; The song remembered when.
Every single word of this song broke me. My dad died 11 days ago. Music was our thing. He loved all kinds of music. All ages, styles. It didnt matter to him. Good music is good music. He taught me that. I cant put it into words, as we all know music can serve as a snapshot in ur mind of a time and place back when . But this song sums up what im left with perfectly. Running from it. Accepting it. Reliving it with every song . "Even if the whole world has forgotten, the song remembers when" 💔 ill never forget u dad n ill one day hopefully be able to liaten to the songs u loved n not crumble. But smile instead. If anyone else here is hurting, struggling n going threw hard times currently or just remebwring them, or naybe even breaking apart, like me. Keep going. Fight like hell. And always get back up. It cant always rain. The sun has to shine eventually. 💜
Trisha Yearwood brought a level of class to country music that was uncommon at the time, very grown up, elegant, artistic and literate music for adults...one of the finest artists with such a body of work. Great stuff

I was in a hardware store waiting to pay for my goods and this song came over the loud speakers. From the first note I recognized it though I hadn't heard it in years. I teared up. Came home and looked for this video, and I don''t remember ever seeing it before. Trisha's eyes are the kind that you can drown in. Garth Brooks is a lucky man, to have such a soulful voice to wake up to every day.
In my opinion this is one of the greatest songs ever written and sung by one of the greatest voices ever. It has haunted me from the very first time I heard it and is one that evokes raw emotion in me.
Always loved this one. Music is a trigger. And this tune reminds me of my 1st love.. 54 now ..I was 20 then ..he is married and lives in a different country. I am married too and have been for over 20 years..but we shared a lot of music...and a tune can bring me right back there...Thank you, Trisha...Kelly
Don't comment on songs very often but this is PERFECT. The voice the musicians, I have no idea who wrote this, but I think most of us have lived this. Its so good that it gives you CHILLS.
I was married to my husband 15 years when this song came out. It made me realize that every day we had a song. If we heard one driving we would pull over and dance on the side of the road, if there was music we were dancing. we were married for forty two years, and we still danced. We went to a George Strait concert and we got up, went up stairs and we were dancing to my husbands very favorite song. I lost him to cancer but I had the music on in the house all day and night so he could still hear it. and every once in a while I could see his fingers move to the music. I didn't want hospice. We weren't perfect, but we had a lot of make-up songs to fit the bill..
Now I remember why I love listening to this song in a daily basis. The relation that you and your partner had was one of the most rarest in the world nowadays. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for sharing your story.
I absolutely love Trisha Yearwood's voice and song choices. She obviously takes time to pick songs with deep lyrical meaning. Hugh Prestwood hit this one out of the park with his writing, and Trisha's voice made this a country classic. Wow.
The song does remember when, but so does the heart. It's these memories that keep me going, even though he's left this life on earth. I know he waits for me. I fell in love with him at first sight, when I was 16. He asked me to marry him before we even went on our second date, and I told him yes. He died just a bit less than two months before our 37th wedding anniversary. He still made my heart give a little jump whenever I saw him. Yes, my heart remembers when.
Ahhh Ms. Sandra Daughtridge, now, I'm tearing up with you too.... He sounds like he was such a cool & brave Good Dude... I sincerely hope this finds you well & healthy, in April of 2020. Your guy wouldn't accept you to give up, much less quit. There's NO QUIT in your DNA. Ms, you're NOT hard wired for that. Respectfully, Santiago Murillo.
What a beautiful love story! I believe in love at first sight because I experienced it myself. So special to marry your first love. You were blessed indeed!
Sandra, God is good, and because of JESUS sacrifice ... We all have real hope. You can count on your heart to know that your Love Will. Be Waiting on you to join him someday . God Bless. 😌
This song is so beautiful and so very true! I have survived brain aneurysm rupture and stroke and have some memory loss but every time I hear a song, the song remembers when. This song is special to me because it reminds me of one of the best times of my life!
Hello👋 Shelley. How are you doing? Hope you’re fine. I’m Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
I'm not usually a country music fan but i heard this song on The Voice tonight, liked it immediately and wanted to hear the original. This was worth looking for! Musically it's very ry good but those lyrics! As others have mentioned music has amazing time-traveling power. Some songs really do open up a fresh/new old memory. One for the playlist!
Hugh Prestwood wrote this one, and the first time I played it on KTMO in 1993, I just leaned back in the chair and started the next song and all but lost it. Thanks to Hugh and Trisha for making it happen. Some things we bury indeed, do rise again.
You are SO wrong - I was just about to write a comment to thank RJ for mentioning Hugh Prestwood!! The song and the songwriter are especially important and respected in country music -- that's why the TV show Nashville started and kept coming back to The Bluebird Cafe, the most famous of the many venues in Nashville where songwriters >must< play only their original songs. There is something magical about hearing the song you love sung by the songwriter who wrote it! (At the BB they often tell stories about the writing of the song -- it's magical.)
This song speaks directly to the intense heart gripping power of a single....song. It can cause a dam full of backed up emotions to gush out with sudden intensity. It’s true- some things we bury, are bound to rise again.💕💕
This came through in my Spotify rotation.....this is an incredibly well written and performed song that I've not heard in years. The beauty of music is being able to live with it forever.
"I was standing at the counter, I was waiting for the change, when I heard that old familiar music start. It was like a lighted match had been tossed into my soul, it like a dam had broken in my heart" From the moment I heard those words, I knew that the perfect song had been written about what music does to the soul!
nathan weimer I should thank Jim? I think he's moved on..Ha! BTW, do you remember when this song came out? Back in 1993?! Time flies, eh? Back then I thought I'd stay 'Forever Young'..but that's whole `nother song. LOL
Songs so define an era or a feeling...this one has taken me to so many memories of so many songs ---where I was and who I was with---decades and decades ago. This one gets to me every time. It is so beautifully written and this version with the balanced strings enhances her perfect delivery. Hearing her sing it in person is on my lifetime bucket list!
Hello👋 Charlotte. How are you doing? Hope you’re fine. I’m Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
🥀One of the most Beautiful song's I've ever heard from Trisha it's a timeless classic story teller and she done a powerful but soothing way of expressing her feelings. I can feel her lyrics! That's a true artist🥀☝️🥀
Oh the memories this song holds in my heart. Thank you for coming Houston. It was a 25+ year dream that I never thought would materialize. Thank you both for sharing your gifts with the world. We cannot thank you enough. God bless you all.
It's a beautiful "love" song and wonderfully performed. But much more than that, it's the best illustration I have encountered, over decades of listening and learning, of the great power of music to transcend barriers: even those of time itself. Kudos to all those responsible for this great performance.
Just love this song. The lyrics are so true. Every day I hear a song and it takes me back to a place in my life, somtimes good and sometimes not so good. I'm okay with that though. That was life at that time and most of the memories are good.
From the very first chord, Trisha transports you back to the very moment in time when your heart was broken. The time when you last remember happienss and love. In the lyrics you find yourself walking through each experience over in your mind and if for only a second in time you catch yourself asking, "why?" For some, it could be as short a few weeks but in some cases like mine you could be 25 years hindsight and still wondering the same question. Yes, pull your boots on but "Remember when"
The first time I heard this song, I had to pull off the road and listen. I think my heart broke all over again for a love lost years before. To this day, I can't hear this song without mourning that lost love. Thank you for a song that always stirs my heart. 😢
I'm 20 years old and just heard this song for the first time - it gave me the chills. Wow. Somebody said "the song remembers when" was a good song from under the comments section of a RUclips video of of L.A Freeway by Guy Clarke, and boy am I glad I listened to it in the end. I feel like I could lie in a hammock under the summer sun and hum this tune for hours...
Just had somebody else come up to me and tell me "You look so much like Trisha Yearwood". I have heard that about a dozen times through the last 20 years. As we both get older I still hear it. Such a beautiful voice.

A week ago I was at an event and the song Can't help falling in love came on by Elvis. It was my wedding song just over 6 years ago. My husband and I are having a very difficult time in our marriage. That song came on and it took everything I had to not cry. Remembering all the good times, and us dancing to that song at our reception. Songs do hold a memory in our hearts and minds.

This is a song for the ages! God’s words flowed through Hugh Presswood’s hands. I still get chills, when l hear this. After all these years, you can’t get better than this.
This will always take me back to a lost relationship. The emotional lyrical content is already great, but add Trisha's vocals and it's just a heartbreaking killer of a song.
Can't believe it was this far back. Songs like this define my first love in high school. It carried into the early 2000's until it died, but songs like this put me right back in it. Heartbreaking but at the same time, I've never felt so much since. Music just doesn't have this kind of power anymore, mostly because artists just aren't as good. It's not really their fault; the best have already happened.
"...We were rollin' through the Rockies We were up above the clouds When a station out of Jackson played that song And it seemed to fit the moment And the moment seemed to freeze When we turned the music up and sang along And there was a God in Heaven And the world made perfect sense We were young and were in love and we were easy to convince We were headed straight for Eden It was just around the bend And though I had forgotten all about it The song remembers when..." Those lyrics go right to my soul.
June 20, 1987 we walked out of the church to Johnny Nash's I CAN SEE CLEARLY. We'd been through so much hurt by others, but it conditioned us for each other. We had over 24 wonderful years together, then he was called to Heaven to wait for me. Every time I hear I CAN SEE CLEARLY, I remember when. Although it's difficult to see clearly with tears in your eyes, I do because THE SONG REMEMBERS WHEN.
Music starts from the time before you were even a thought. Meaning the night you are conceived. And progresses from their into your adulthood. Going through stages in our lives that's all. Music will also most likely be there at your funeral service as people feel the need to hear a gospel song. It's just there depending on the occassion. And every occassion deserves a song!
this is the most amazing song that has ever been written , I'm 62 yrear"s old and have always loved and listen to music since i was a baby.this is the most pretty amazing song i have ever herad. it hits my soul with so many different emotions , and it is so true every word . and Trisha Yearwood knocks it out the park with her amazing voice, no_one can or will e+ver be able to sing that song like like her . she has the most beautiful voice i"ve ever heard in my intire life.and i have heard them all she should be puy into the country music hall of fame as the greatest singrerthat has ever performed , i love you Trisha Yearwood . you are the greatest singer and performer of all time . love and best wishes to you and your husband Garth. i know he is so very proud to be by your side .God Bless you and your family , may God always protect ,guide and direct you and your family and love ones.
I love her music, the tone of her voice, she has such great insight into the songs she chooses. On a bus to St Cloud reminds me how even though that person isn't in your life everyday, they are still in your heart. And the mind plays tricks on you so you see them everywhere, even on a bus.
Can music possibly be any better? Through the mercy of Almighty and Good God, it was all recorded and a kind RUclipsr posted it for us to relive, savor, wonder at, over and over. Simply amazing
I was going to add this timeless Yearwood country classic to my top 10 throwback faves, but regrettably it came out in 1993. Still, it's a good song. #Only1994

The most beautiful song I have heard in a long time and Tisha sings it the best. It is sung with such feeling and brings back so many memories. Thank you Trisha and the person who wrote it.
Lyrics: I was standing at the counter I was waitin' for the change When I heard that old familiar music start It was like a lighted match Had been tossed into my soul It was like a dam had broken in my heart After taking every detour Gettin' lost and losin' track So that even if I wanted I could not find my way back After drivin' out the memory of the way things might have been After I'd forgotten all about us The song remembers when We were rollin' through the Rockies We were up above the clouds When a station out of Jackson played that song And it seemed to fit the moment And the moment seemed to freeze When we turned the music up and sang along And there was a God in Heaven And the world made perfect sense We were young and were in love and we were easy to convince We were headed straight for Eden It was just around the bend And though I had forgotten all about it The song remembers when I guess something must've happened And we must've said goodbye And my heart must have been broken Though I can't recall just why The song remembers when Well for all the miles between us And for all the time that's passed You would think I haven't gotten very far And I hope my hasty heart Will forgive me just this once If I stop to wonder how on earth you are But that's just a lot of water Underneath the bridge, I've burned And there's no use in backtracking around corners I have turned Still, I guess some things we bury Are just bound to rise again And even if the whole world had forgotten The song remembers when Yeah, even if the whole world has forgotten The song remembers when
Songs are apart of our lives from the time we are conceived. Our mom's sing to us in their tummys. We hear lullibyes as babies. We moved on to nursery rhymes. From there hopefully songs from church. As we grow we find music that makes us feel like we are at in a place in our lives. Loving, hurting, needing a change. Music just goes hand and hand with life. My mom to this day at 78 years old walks around the house singing. What a beautiful circle of life i feel from her from tummy to being a mom!

this song is absolutely true, ive been married to my wife for 25 years, and as we were riding in the car, a song came on, and omg, memories of past love came back, then i looked at my Annette and realized just how lucky i am to have her.the song did remember when.
Trisha Yearwood is incredible, I had forgotten she was a singer, too! Tried for concert tickets in Indy in 2019? with Garth… They sold-out several times as they kept adding performances the weekend… Never get tried of her beautiful voice!
Hello👋 Patricia . How are you doing? Hope you’re fine. I’m Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Such a pure voice! This is what a vocalist sounds like, not a bunch of remixing and filtering to make them sound better. Simply Beautiful with amazing lyrics.
This song makes me remember someone in Wyoming I met while on a solo road trip years ago. We had so much fun and we fell. But it wasn't to be. Still this song makes me remember when.
I think this is my favorite Trisha Yearwood song of all time. It brings back so many memories. Beautiful song, beautiful artist, beautifully performed!

Tonight is the first time I've heard this song as far as I recall. I kind of lost it for a bit. The song remembers when and it reminded me who. An off-and-on relationship they could just never seem to work its way out. I guess our song hasn't finished writing itself.
Wow the memories this song brings back. We never were destined to be together for life. Even tho he's dead this song brings him to mind and I can only smile.
A classy song for any era. Thank goodness for the songwriters who create these stories in music for top performers like Ms Yearwood to bring to life and add so much worth having to our own existence.
In my personal opinion one of the most magnificent voices in all of country music and music alike. ❤❤❤ Trisha Yearwood
Except when she screeches like most other female country singer
She's even better live.
Favorite line: "and even if the whole world has forgotten - the song remembers when." Simply beautiful! 💖 😢
I’m not even a country music fan, but I think this is one of the most brilliant songs ever written.

I went to music school with Trisha...and I've never heard her sing a wrong note...she has a cry in her voice and is a flawless singer.
You are so lucky to have known her!! I love her she's absolutely amazing!
Can I ask what school it was?? How lucky you are!
I am a songwriter. but I think this is one of the greatest country songs ever written. and Tricia does it beautifully.
I agree though it is very hard to get through.. Don't try this one even I can't through it most times
I'm a song writer, too.
I am not a song writer but I can relate to the meaning of the song
I'm a songwriter too. Where's the food tent?

I totally get this 💯
The song was written by Hugh Prestwood, who also wrote “Asking us to Dance”, for Kathy Mattea
No artist or song nails the sentiment of a song taking you back to relive those treasured moments in time. Music is how we mark our lives. Thank you Trisha for summing it up so beautifully.

Sometimes we never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory
Truer words have never been spoken
Oh so beautifully put. From Ireland 🇮🇪 2022
That comment is poetry
So profound!
She's has one one the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. This is one of my all time favorite Trisha yearwood songs. Along with Georgia rain.
Trisha Yearwood brought a level of class to country music that was uncommon at the time, very grown up, elegant, artistic and literate music for adults...one of the finest artists with such a body of work. Great stuff
Hi there
Thanks for your love and support that has brought me this far, it has been a hard time for me going through this but your love and support keeps me going and standing strong in this difficult times. I do read your heartwarming comments and I truly appreciate all you’ve done for me throughout the years.
It’s a season of love for me and so I decided to put a smile on the faces of my fans by going through my RUclips channel and checking out on my fans, so I can get to communicate with my fans better through discussion of depth and humor listening to compliments and criticism of my career.🌺🌺
I Think about Him Every Now 'N' Then...The Song Remembers When...❤❤
In my opinion this is one of the greatest songs ever written and sung by one of the greatest voices ever. It has haunted me from the very first time I heard it and is one that evokes raw emotion in me.
Absolutely 💯
Me too Haunting
Me tooooo!
I lost my wife at a early age of 33 tears old. God came and took her home. I'm 61 now and my Song stills Remembers When.
I so very sorry in my heart for you Charles...God bless you.
Jay Sutphin thank you. I knew her my whole life and was my best friend too.She is alive and well in my heart till mine stops.
*****
thank you John. felt as the air I breath was take from me. I can say I thought and wished I would have died with her.
I also lost my first wife when she was only 33. I am now 59 and I agree with you. The song remembers when as do I.
charles hayes
What I love about this song is that evokes that sense of yesterday and blends it to now. Such a voice and a lovely sentiment indeed!
😢😔😊
im so sorry for your loss
Now I remember why I love listening to this song in a daily basis. The relation that you and your partner had was one of the most rarest in the world nowadays. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for sharing your story.
It was and is something very different...that is what made us great
Looks like you and your husband wrote a song of your very own and it was beautiful. Thank you for that imagery. What a love you had x
Sandra Daughtridge what a beautiful comment.
You can count on your heart to know that your Love
Will. Be Waiting on you to join him someday . God Bless. 😌
Hello Sandra
This song is so beautiful and so very true! I have survived brain aneurysm rupture and stroke and have some memory loss but every time I hear a song, the song remembers when. This song is special to me because it reminds me of one of the best times of my life!
I've never been able to get through this song without crying.
Hands down my favorite song by Trisha. That strong voice gives me chills
This song gets me every time! Trisha’s voice is amazing and she is a one of a kind story teller. The lyrics touch my ♥️ heart
This song speaks directly to the intense heart gripping power of a single....song. It can cause a dam full of backed up emotions to gush out with sudden intensity. It’s true- some things we bury, are bound to rise again.💕💕
Hello👋 dear. How are you doing? Hope you’re fine. I’m Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Who's reminiscing in 2024?
One of my most favorite songs of all time!
10/18/2024
Thank goodness! Now I know I’m not the only one who feels the meaning of this lovely song at the deepest level, especially when it’s sung this well!
The perfect singer singing one of the best songs ever written. A perfect combination.
Hello there Mary nice meeting you here
Absolutely 💯
This came through in my Spotify rotation.....this is an incredibly well written and performed song that I've not heard in years. The beauty of music is being able to live with it forever.
"I was standing at the counter, I was waiting for the change, when I heard that old familiar music start. It was like a lighted match had been tossed into my soul, it like a dam had broken in my heart"
From the moment I heard those words, I knew that the perfect song had been written about what music does to the soul!
you named it. you own it. great way to put it.
Kinda neat I was too
@nathan weimer
Thanks very much. Three yrs later..LOL. Still a very powerful song!
I must say thank you too cause it took each of us...I just get More credit then I sometime deserve....
nathan weimer
I should thank Jim?
I think he's moved on..Ha!
BTW, do you remember when this song came out? Back in 1993?! Time flies, eh? Back then I thought I'd stay 'Forever Young'..but that's whole `nother song. LOL
25年後再聽時
就像我25年前買了Trisha Yearwood的專輯時一樣的好聽感觸內心
Songs so define an era or a feeling...this one has taken me to so many memories of so many songs ---where I was and who I was with---decades and decades ago. This one gets to me every time. It is so beautifully written and this version with the balanced strings enhances her perfect delivery. Hearing her sing it in person is on my lifetime bucket list!
Hello👋 Charlotte. How are you doing? Hope you’re fine. I’m Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado. Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Absolutely stunning! This song breaks my heart every single time I hear it! It reminds me of my ex-husband and I. Thank you, Trisha!
Hello Carol
"Even if the whole world has forgotten, the song remembers when."
🥀One of the most Beautiful song's I've ever heard from Trisha it's a timeless classic story teller and she done a powerful but soothing way of expressing her feelings. I can feel her lyrics! That's a true artist🥀☝️🥀
Greatest female voice of country music ever in my opinion. Thank you Trisha. 😊
Kudos to all those responsible for this great performance.
one of the most amazing voices of our time. i wish she were doing more music like this.
Just love this song. The lyrics are so true. Every day I hear a song and it takes me back to a place in my life, somtimes good and sometimes not so good. I'm okay with that though. That was life at that time and most of the memories are good.
Nobody does a broken hearted song about a lost love better than Trisha. This one, Georgia Rain, Walk away Joe... just perfect.
Me as well.
May the Lord be with you and your family if you believe say Amen 🙏🙌
I'm 20 years old and just heard this song for the first time - it gave me the chills. Wow. Somebody said "the song remembers when" was a good song from under the comments section of a RUclips video of of L.A Freeway by Guy Clarke, and boy am I glad I listened to it in the end. I feel like I could lie in a hammock under the summer sun and hum this tune for hours...
Just had somebody else come up to me and tell me "You look so much like Trisha Yearwood". I have heard that about a dozen times through the last 20 years. As we both get older I still hear it. Such a beautiful voice.
I used to get that too . I never saw it .
Lucky girl!

I've loved this song for years, Trisha is a country music icon.
i sang this song with a feeling just the other day. I cried while I was singing. It took me back to my high school days 1991, when i was happy.
It's so touching. A lot of us have been there....
... this beautiful song makes me cry every time, and I don't miss an opportunity to stop and listen!
Beautiful lyrics ..it seems you always remember the song that was popular when you were with someone that meant something to you..love this song.
Amazing how one song can bring back a ton of memories
A week ago I was at an event and the song Can't help falling in love came on by Elvis. It was my wedding song just over 6 years ago. My husband and I are having a very difficult time in our marriage. That song came on and it took everything I had to not cry. Remembering all the good times, and us dancing to that song at our reception. Songs do hold a memory in our hearts and minds.

This is a song for the ages! God’s words flowed through Hugh Presswood’s hands. I still get chills, when l hear this. After all these years, you can’t get better than this.
Deeply touching. I imagine most people can identify. Music does have a way of bookmarking our experiences, and then bringing them back to mind. 💖💖💖💖
Just beautiful!
This lady has an amazing voice and the song was a gift to compliment her voice!
Very nostalgic...everyone has moments like those described in this song.
It's not really their fault; the best have already happened.
how right you are.
"...We were rollin' through the Rockies
We were up above the clouds
When a station out of Jackson played that song
And it seemed to fit the moment
And the moment seemed to freeze
When we turned the music up and sang along
And there was a God in Heaven
And the world made perfect sense
We were young and were in love and we were easy to convince
We were headed straight for Eden
It was just around the bend
And though I had forgotten all about it
The song remembers when..."
Those lyrics go right to my soul.
Hello there Nancy nice meeting you here
May the Lord be with you and your family if you believe say Amen 🙏🙌
June 20, 1987 we walked out of the church to Johnny Nash's I CAN SEE CLEARLY. We'd been through so much hurt by others, but it conditioned us for each other. We had over 24 wonderful years together, then he was called to Heaven to wait for me. Every time I hear I CAN SEE CLEARLY, I remember when. Although it's difficult to see clearly with tears in your eyes, I do because THE SONG REMEMBERS WHEN.
I am a song writer as well and yes this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written to me I love her voice with it 💜
Music starts from the time before you were even a thought.
I love this song so much. Trisha's voice is so gorgeous and warm.
I love her music, the tone of her voice, she has such great insight into the songs she chooses. On a bus to St Cloud reminds me how even though that person isn't in your life everyday, they are still in your heart. And the mind plays tricks on you so you see them everywhere, even on a bus.
Hello Judy
Omg I haven’t heard this song in years 😭
Can music possibly be any better? Through the mercy of Almighty and Good God, it was all recorded and a kind RUclipsr posted it for us to relive, savor, wonder at, over and over. Simply amazing
I was going to add this timeless Yearwood country classic to my top 10 throwback faves, but regrettably it came out in 1993. Still, it's a good song. #Only1994
beautiful song...i'm 39 years old and still love these classic country songs!

@@trishayearwood2704 why you pretending to be her?
The most beautiful song I have heard in a long time and Tisha sings it the best. It is sung with such feeling and brings back so many memories. Thank you Trisha and the person who wrote it.
Always brings back memories of an ex, we had fun, and then we didn't. Thank you for the beautiful song....Kelly
Lyrics:
I was standing at the counter
I was waitin' for the change
When I heard that old familiar music start
It was like a lighted match
Had been tossed into my soul
It was like a dam had broken in my heart
After taking every detour
Gettin' lost and losin' track
So that even if I wanted I could not find my way back
After drivin' out the memory of the way things might have been
After I'd forgotten all about us
The song remembers when
We were rollin' through the Rockies
We were up above the clouds
When a station out of Jackson played that song
And it seemed to fit the moment
And the moment seemed to freeze
When we turned the music up and sang along
And there was a God in Heaven
And the world made perfect sense
We were young and were in love and we were easy to convince
We were headed straight for Eden
It was just around the bend
And though I had forgotten all about it
The song remembers when
I guess something must've happened
And we must've said goodbye
And my heart must have been broken
Though I can't recall just why
The song remembers when
Well for all the miles between us
And for all the time that's passed
You would think I haven't gotten very far
And I hope my hasty heart
Will forgive me just this once
If I stop to wonder how on earth you are
But that's just a lot of water
Underneath the bridge, I've burned
And there's no use in backtracking around corners I have turned
Still, I guess some things we bury
Are just bound to rise again
And even if the whole world had forgotten
The song remembers when
Yeah, even if the whole world has forgotten
The song remembers when
Definitely one of my all time Top 10 songs of all time.
What a beautiful circle of
life i feel from her from tummy to being a mom!

this song is absolutely true, ive been married to my wife for 25 years, and as we were riding in the car, a song came on, and omg, memories of past love came back, then i looked at my Annette and realized just how lucky i am to have her.the song did remember when.
Yes I still listen to this song in 2021 absolutely love it one of my favorite songs
Trisha is one of the best singers ever to grace Nashville .
This song makes me remember someone in Wyoming I met while on a solo road trip years ago. We had so much fun and we fell. But it wasn't to be. Still this song makes me remember when.
Country Girl I admire your courage that makes you open up your heart
to help others who are going through bad times. You are one special lady!!
Beautifully sung ..simply beautiful with class. Thanks for the music. make more.😊
I think this is my favorite Trisha Yearwood song of all time. It brings back so many memories. Beautiful song, beautiful artist, beautifully performed!

❤....wow.... what a moment.... to stop and think.... and i have never forgotten.... and i never will.... even if the whole world does.... thiis being a beautiful song.... and one of the best singers of all time.... love....❤
Tonight is the first time I've heard this song as far as I recall. I kind of lost it for a bit. The song remembers when and it reminded me who. An off-and-on relationship they could just never seem to work its way out. I guess our song hasn't finished writing itself.
Ive heard no attempts at covering this fantadtic masterpiece of a song, a performance. Dont even consider it.❤
One of the best songs ever written and what a wonderful artist to sing it!!!
Country music really needs more work from Trisha ! Thanks 🙏
Wow the memories this song brings back. We never were destined to be together for life. Even tho he's dead this song brings him to mind and I can only smile.
The words take me back to someone I loved for many years. He left me for a younger chick who died a few years after our divorce.
A classy song for any era. Thank goodness for the songwriters who create these
stories in music for top performers like Ms Yearwood to bring to life and add so
much worth having to our own existence.
