Mitchell Starc has probably not had the best of IPLs so far, and given his price point, there'll be a few eyebrows raised. But his performance last night against the Sunrisers tells a different story. Let's dive into that spell in today's video.

It be fascinating if Cummins, Starc and Hazlewood all were in the mega auction next year and the prices they would go for. Weirdly Hazlewood might still be the lowest price even though he's a better T20 Bowler than the other two.

Hazelwood is underrated. I know the word underrated is overused these days, but he's one of those bowlers who is legitimately underrated

You don't buy Mitch Starc cause he's gonna be a workhorse and be consistent throughout the league phase. You buy him cause he's gonna win the big moments and carry you through when it matters under the bright lights of the big stage. It doesn't matter if he goes for 60, 10 matches in a row. If he's staring down at you when you are about to face your first ball, it doesn't matter who you are, you are gonna be nervous. More nervous than what most other bowlers, good bowlers around the world are gonna make you feel.

And you buy mitch starc to get smoked by a tailender defending 17 runs and just bring it home by a margin

He did not perform in 2021 knockouts, neither in 2022 World Cup ,neither in 2019 semifinal ,neither in wtc final,I find this narrative nonsensical,a bowler is going at 11 an over, that cannot be justified by just performing in 1 or 2 games,if he’s so good why didn’t he perform in previous matches and if he was saving himself for this than he’s not a professional and needs to work on his fitness

@@AcromacilaHe was the highest wicket taker in the 2015 & 2019 odi world cups ... More than 350 wkts in tests... he's seen more consistent peaks & good days than any bowler of this generation..... That's what differentiates great athletes from good ones....

@@Acromacila Okay, Did Australia not win the WTC? He had 4 wickets in the match. 2 of which were Kohli and Rahane. Did they not win in 2021? Got Rizwan and Shoaib Malik out in the Semifinal there as well. Had figures of 2-38 even after bowling in the death in that match. In 2022, he played only 3 matches. 2 of which Australia won. The one they got battered by NZ, he had the best figures. Australia made 111 in reply to NZ's 200. And the 2019 Semifinal was another match where the Aussies got blown away. The brits chased Australia's 223 in 32 overs. You think they lost that match because of Starc? He took 27 wickets in 10 matches in that World Cup. You wanna know why he had such good figures? Cause he was playing for his country. You think he's gonna give even half of the effort for this joke of a tournament where there is literally nothing for the bowlers and is now a money making machine on the back of casual fans who know close to nothing about the parts of the game that matter? Let me give you an example, a player like Andre Russell will only give effort in the field at his age in big match moments. Hell, he doesn't even bowl in other T20 leagues unless he really really has to or if he's playing knockout games. While a genuine fast bowler like Mitch Starc who is a World Champion in all 3 formats is only gonna give effort in the IPL if he really really has to. Such as in the playoff matches. KKR bought him for this much amount of money despite knowing that. Starc will never give it his all in the IPL regularly as long as he is playing for Australia. Cause that's his first priority. And that's why he is in Australia's squad for this WC as well even though he played in only 2 of the games of the 15 Australia played since the last T20WC. And they picked him cause they know that the performance in the IPL doesn't matter. And this same guy will probably tear the guys that lit up the IPL a new one if he faces them in the WC. And this childish impression that Starc needs to work on his fitness and he's not a professional shows what kind of fan you are. This is one of the fastest bowlers in the history of the game. The fact that you think he's not pushing himself cause he's not fit enough is absolutely ridiculous and shows you need to learn a lot more about the game, genuine fast bowlers and what that does to the body of those people. I have went on a serious rant here for a comment so let me give it to you simple. He only enlisted in this year's IPL for the money. He may not perform in the final and may not get picked in the IPL ever again. But if he wants to make more money, he'll come back and go all out when he has no more national duty left. I hope an IPL franchise picks him after he has retired from international cricket and Starc's only goal is to make more money then you can simple minded people can really see how dominating he can be even in his twilight years.

For Pat Cummins, here's a question: How much would you give to see him shut down Rohit Sharma in Narendra Modi Stadium. Lots of us would like to see that happen. The SR did that to MI and it was Cummins and Head to did it AGAIN.

Great video!, Also can you make a video, statistically analysing the time between the winning moment and the first handshake between the teams (in normal matches and in do or die or qualifier matches) and compare it to the RCB v CSK match to shed some light on the Dhoni leaving without handshake controversy

The thing in auctions is people judge players based on their price that starc did not perform for his price tag but if you forget about it they needed a foreign fast bowler who could take the pace attack with him and starc has achieved the same
Remember the game they replaced him with chameera ( a much better pick in terms of money ) he did get smashed
So from the pool of talent available he was a good choice and he did what was needed albeit not to the level expected
