I have a 2003 crown victoria after driving to the delta in sub zero weather my control module failed. Lost lights and wipers. The winter before took out my fan resistor so I hard wired the blower to the battery, last winter the wheel on my blower came off. Now I have a always on blower new 72.00 hard wired. On a fixed budget I am really happy to see out my windshield again in these brutal winters of alaska. Motor and tyranny still strong did lose a 65.00 coil pack on cylinder 5. But still getting me to the store still independently surviving at 69. Love my crown vic one day I will give it all the love it deserves
The blower motor quit working on my 08 Crown Vic and I wasn't sure if the motor itself was bad or not. Watched your video, gave it the "hammer test" and it started running. Thanks my friend.....you definitely saved me some guess work.
Tho just happened in my 06 Grand marquis with 127k miles, and I'm trying to figure out how to do it, and this video helps me out, Thank you Jason, this helps me!
Excellent! Looks like I'll be tappin' on mine in the morning. Once that finished, I'll have to work up the nerve to operate on the clock spring. I'm really not looking forward to that, but I want my steering wheel controls to work! Thank you for this!
I just had to change out my blower motor in my 2007 Town Car. The old tap it with a hammer trick had it run but really slow. Got a motor without cage, then the fun began. Only 3 bolts holding it in but the fender well won’t let it come out. Gotta Jack it up, remove wheel, go under fender well and take off 3 bolts to loosen fender well and move it, then blower comes out easy. Next to take off old cage and put on new shaft, not easy. Once that’s all done, hook up connection and it goes right in. Job well done👍👍👍💪💪💪
Thanks for the video. I have an 89 town car. Usually when I accelerate with the AC on it kicks down and hot air mixes in. Even when I have climate control off. I just had ac serviced. Any ideas?
Im on my second grand marquis, it has the alternator and heater blower connected to the battery. Thought about fixing/reseting it back to normal. But it seems to be ok enough.
Mine was doing the exact same thing and once I tap on it, it will start back blowing, but now it has stopped blowing completely, would that be the blower motor or the resistor?
And if you run into what I did with my Vic it went out during winter and I don't have a garage had to do it at the parts store parking lot and I was told it was factory replacement Haaa!!! Installed it and there was a nice Gap a little ways around where the metal meets the box by this time I was freezing and it was the only kind They had. Amazing how well Gorilla 🦍 Tape works it sealed everything up never had another problem. Merry Christmas OCG and your family and Happy New Year.
Hey man , my 08 crown Vic ac is not blowing at all. Replaced resistor, climate control, fuse and relays are all good, and manually tested blower motor with wires to a battery. But still not air blowing, any ideas?
Hey Andrew. I would be interested to know if you are getting power to the resistor. With the key on, there should be one wire with 12v. It's possible you either have a bad or wrong resistor. There were 2 different types. One if you had the round dial controls and one if you had automatic.
@@OldeCarrGuy which wire should I check? The one that connects to the resistor? Also, I tried what was shown in the video this morning , ac worked but only for about 5 min before turning off.
That boulder site for the car parts seems to have the auto temp resistor unit (at least for my 93 TC) for around $40US. Mine only works on the highest speed unless I hit the right combination of potholes and even then it will stop again within a minute or so. I don't mind contorting to change the thing. What I do mind is having to take the whole dash out to replace the heater core as I've been told is necessary. Car is old. Car has miles on it (280k). I'm old. I have miles on me. It's not going to be pleasant.
It's not pleasant. I replaced the heater core on my wife's GM earlier this year. RUclips videos help. It can be done by the average car guy. I'm old too(63)

Thank you brother for taking your time explaining the problem and getting into detail on how to fix my merc 🤞🏾
Glad to help

Same thing happened to my '05 Merc GM with 70k. Luckily, I only had to replace the blower motor. Another excellent video.🙂
Thanks again James!
Merry Christmas to you and your family from across the pond.
Thanks Des. MC
Tapped my resistor with a screwdriver and it fixed it the first two times... but not the third. Just ordered the part. Lol
You can almost fix everything by hitting it! lol
Thank you, Sir! Very good info. I have issue with my 02 TC. I will have a look into it this weekend.
Good luck!
Just wail on it with a hammer untill it breaks off, then just toss the new blower in the engine bay anywhere and close the hood! And You did it!
Thank you. Great demo. Mine is a Marauder but very similar
Thanks for watching!
I had that same problem with my 05 vic.. I hit that blower motor, and it starts working.. what a way to figure out the issue.. thanks alot

Great Instruction Video !!!
Love the panther content as usual! Any plans for Gma or blackjack in 2022? What videos can we expect?
Absolutely! Marty tune, Engine swap and head to head challenges! Thanks Austin.

I'd be inclined to change it!
Love the videos they sure make me look like a Hero 😂
Thanks. Figured it out
If the AC blows hot air but only when accelerating and the tachymeter goes above around 2k is that an issue with the relay too?
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Same to you Jeff
I'm impressed by your hammer drawer. You apparently have restraint. I apparently don't. I've never counted my hammers, but there's a lot.
You can never have enough!
5:43 So neat.

Thanks for watching Chuck.

Motor. The brushes in the motor are failing.
Replaced many resistors over the years in New England almost as cold as canucastan and before the hate my grandmother was from Canada
lol Thanks Keith
Great tutorial.
Glad you liked it!

There was also a slight “ticking” noise coming from the blow motor.

Nah, it's my winter beater.
