I was getting aggreviated at 3am folding multiple tabbed folders. I just sat quiet & watched this tut again & realized why mine don't look like yours. We have the tab w/undercut, but then the top of the folder is 1/4"shorter than the back. I just made my folds where they worked...(& boy are there a lot of different fold areas). Lol! This is a great & fast mini that I can use 4x6 paper on. 1:30am now. I'm up til I get one created. Thx again for showing all diff folders. Big Hugs!! ~Krys
I love this folder and wanted to make one for myself. I wanted to step up to a more complicated journal than I had been making. I am surrounded by folders in various states of confusion. I have run and rerun this video so many times in an attempt to follow your directions. I was not going to be defeated by a bit of paper. I had the same difficulty learning Coptic stitch. Now Coptic stitch is my favorite binding method. It is now 6:30 on a Saturday night and I have finally got this journal together. I will not tell you how many hours or parts of days I have been working on this journal. I would be embarrassed. So thrilled to have finally met with success! Thanks for the video!

I cannot tell you how much of a difference something as simple as marking with the colored pencil made "getting my head around" the whole procedure of making the album. Thank you so much for doing that little extra step!! tootles, Della :-)
How sweet of you to do this. I messed up about 5 folders (I have the tabbed kind) before I realized that all I had to do was use a bottom-tabbed folder and just cut the 6" from the area above the tab. It worked great. I'm hoping that you'll be doing the distressing tutorial soon! Thanks.
Michelle, Thanks for this video. It unleashed a fire storm of creative activity over the last couple months. I watched it about 8 months ago and did a cool memory book of camping trips in the Sierra Nevada, using old vintage maps, pics from my printer (all vintage-ized with Distress inks), and Tim Holtz compass on the cover (riveted) and tied up with a strip of leather that wound around the raised, riveted compass. The "tabs" I cut like mountain ranges. Excellent video, good production value and very polished. Pleasure to rewatch a couple times!
Great video tutorial. For my mini journal I just got rid of all the tabs by covering them with paper. Will have to just make another one now that I understand the directions. Many thanks and big hugs!!!

Thank you for this 2nd video....I tried to make this from the 1st one and got lost....I was trying to make it with a 3 cut file folder. Now I just need to decorate it....
unites states standard file folders from like staples will not work with this tutorial -- which i figured out 40 folders later lol -- i love your style of the file folder mini just wished i d of realized sooner it wont work for us USA staples type file folders- i ended up having to cut the tops off of one side to make it work -- ya figured it out some what after all those cut up file folders lol -- good luck if ur using staples type of albums
I may have an unusual story as far as file folders go...I wanted to practice on some cheap folders and I found some really cheap ones at Walmart. Well, instead of being packaged one on top of the other, they were all stuffed inside each other, so that the outside folder was no longer in the original shape, the crease was not in the middle, but higher on the folder. I didn't pay any attention to this and when I tried folding them, the fold was way off from where it should be. It took me quite a while to figure out why the notches weren't lining up like they should!
u would of had troubles anyway i think - wat shes using is totally larger then ours in the USA- our hole group we have on facebook tried making them and EVERYONE had problems
