- Dimapur is the commercial hub of Nagaland and it has major business establishments but with many faults. Recently, Dimapur Municipal Council ordered to remove illegal businesses from within the area of Markets and had removed several. Today, NLTV visited the New Market Area, Nyamo Lotha Road and found many illegal businesses running at the public footpath openly without any restrictions from the concerned departments or unions; it was clearly seen that the small vendors set up their stalls at the side of parking adjoined to the footpath blocking the passage of commuters.

Local and karbi vegetable vendors were all let to vacate but non local balloon walas and cheap toy hawkers and fruit vendors are allowed to trade.

Reporter has done such a great job👏 but at the same time I feel bad for them they does it to feed themselves and their family atleast they are working doing something instead of bagging or involving in crimes. Though this may be illegal but not to the extend where they are harming people, I don't support them though. What I'm trying to say here is the ocean of non- locals scattered everywhere which is leading to more burglary, fraud, robbery, kidnapping, assault, boasting.. etc, which is even more concerning.

Especially Kohima main town area, street vendors occupied the footpath with veggies, fast food. Sometimes the funny part is that the public stand in a Queue to cross one another. The solution is to set up a General market shed for those vendors instead of just placing their goods on the footpath and obviously misunderstanding will arise if the public step over their veggies/goods mistakenly.. 🙏
