Thanks for the review, curious, does anyone think Riddle Spinx is worth it? 🤔 ... I kinda always considered it and auto-not-include as the cost for thr power and special effect just seems not worth it. I'd rather have 2 grandmaster wizards or even 2 more Appentice wizards. Cheers
Its probably too expensive to play haha but i do enjoy playing it. Typically cards that cost more than 4 need to really change the board state and this card certainly doesnt do that haha
How does the mana ramp work with this deck? It feels like you have a ton of benefit for high cost, but in setting it up you leave yourself open to the opponent building their defenses/mana pool enough that you'd have difficulty penetrating them. If all cards are there for genesis effects, what's your win con? Usually by the time you're stalling out opponents, I've found, they're close to an overwhelming force, and if you don't have anything alive to block, is terrifying
For win cons the titan, sphinx and craterize are the end games plus long term bleed with devils egg. This actually has massive board presence with all the 2-3 cost minions. Typically im not casting them again from the cemetery till like turn 6 so i can cast one from there while playing another from my hand. I will say most of my games have been very close but the long term card advantage and attrition this avatar has is what pushes it through. Most of the decks ive played against run out of a hand and go to top deck mode while this deck ive never gone to top deck mode. Always having cards in hand is such a great benefit. This deck also isnt built with a "high competitive" mind set either. If i were going for a more streamline deck id run some other cards like disintegrate which is an excellent removal spell and pudge butcher for more added strength. I went full theme with genesis to say the least lol the added ability to fill your cemetery by killing your own minions is great but its key and when you do it and to not over do that and leave yourself open. The deck certainly has it weakness like every avatar from what ive seen. Aggro pathfinder im looking at you lol. My decks are also built with the meta im playing against so im sure theres other avenues and strategies i havent even seen which is awesome! Theres even cards im still discovering. I also appreciate the comment and discussion too, its great hearing other peoples takes or ideas on decks and i do take into consideration what people have to say.
Thats awesome to hear! I wouldnt say its highly competitive but it does have a lot of good synergies to it and tons of consistency with all the card draw it has. If you wanted to take it to the high end level id add the philosopher's stone, cores and maybe some mixes to speed the deck up.
@kk_itsover you can cut the sphinx for both cores and maybe trim down some copies of the ordinary cards for a philosopher's stone and a few mixes id say.
Need ramp, philosophers stone and 3 cores should be auto include over the eggs and the craterize should be replaced with an elemental direct damage if your choice… will make it go faster.
You’re drawing lots of cards… but you should be dropping your whole hand every time too this way and maximizing damage. Drop an additional set of creatures that aren’t card draw based and go for a straight burn deck strategy
I appreciate the comments and considerations but as far as the aether 9 cards i go over why i dont use them in other videos and comments. Mainly they are a lot of money and not everyone can afford them. Plus being unique its rough to get them early when they are their best. For my deck the eggs are staying in since its the key part of the wall strategy i included in this deck. The burn is a good suggestion as well but after testing burn in this game i realized its not my play style, i prefer to build up a big board presence and overwhelm that way. I tried burn in my original pathfinder deck and it worked well but i just didnt enjoy it as much and my decks focus more of thematic styles and just having fun over finding the most optimum build i can make. I will do doing 1 deck tech with my battlemage though that does run aether 9 but ill also refer viewers to my other one that doesnt run that stuff. Again i definitely appreciate them comments and your viewpoints on the deck and who know i might just try these ideas out anyways haha this game is massive in how to enjoy it and im sure theres tons of avenues out there i havent even thought of.
Just got into the game and I’m a new subscriber. Love your content. Will be following. I follow your logic on the deck design. Fair point. I am at this point still thinking what direction to go myself… I am just getting into the game but I’m all in. I think it’s phenomenal. I’m between deathspeaker and the elementalist also really speaks to me.
@andrewwagoner1168 thats awesome to hear dude and glad my content is useful! Welcome to the game too its fantastic and honestly one of the best games ive played with an even greater community. Im of the philosophy run what you think looks great, then add cards to strengthen those cards or strategies. Im still trying to wrap my head around Elementalist since its wide open for decks haha Deathspeaker is loads of fun too. Pathfinder has been my favorite deck as of late too. Enjoy this great game dude and happy tcg journey!
I’m thinking that the elementalist will just be an expensive deck. I don’t know enough about the game yet but given that the whole point os to exploit the avatars strength… the elementalist has to be a mana fixer… I play a ton of old school magic but am tired of it really. The principles here are the same though. All of the cores and the stone will give you 5 out of a 40 card deck… in this game it’s really a 6 card draw because of the mulligan rules and I would dig every time. If you do that you would have a .625 chance of getting a core and you could also run that princess and essentially guarantee a core on turn one or two this way. That combo with the avatar puts you two ahead in the early game… I don’t know what you do with that yet because I do t know enough about the card pool but it’s there to be exploited. I would ensure that I could get one of those massive kill ‘em all creatures on the board on turn 3 or 4… it seems like it isn’t really a combo of it works over 85 percent of the time and you are running 4 princesses statistically.
This was my thought 3 element with so many non-threshold sites seems iffy? Does it end up working out alright? Do you hard mulligan for threshold sites? Does that seem to get you there enough?
Its hasnt been a problem for me actually since i have land surveyor and all the card draw to get more of them especially with the ability to play them again after they die.
I do hard mull for threshold sites but this deck draws a ton of them, at least the games ive had so far. I also hard mull for apprentice wizard and land surveyor.
Another banger! This list is really sweet!
Thank you!! Yeah this deck is my favorite right now and will probably stay that way lol

Looks good, have you thought if adding The Geistwood site, mking genesis abilites alo death triggers seems good here.
If i owned it then yes it would 100% be in the deck haha

Deathspeaker is my favorite Avatar
hi i copied this deck for my first ever tournament. is it still competitive?

@@Korlash1990 hello thanks for replying! i would like to know what cards ill drop and whats cards ill add?

Started out rough - no Pudge?! - but you landed the plane. Another deck that rips.
Hahaha it used to be in there so i get half credit i think 🤣 thanks as always for checking out my videos dude!
Nice deck, Nice mat also

Don’t threshold requirements hold you up
