How will the Columbus Blue Jackets attempt at moving forward and making their team more competitive in 2024-25? How can they bounce back and move back into a playoffs spot after not making the 2024 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. Gaudreau is top 5 in the NHL for slot passes completed in the last calendar year. The truth of the matter is he needs a RW that’s a left handed shot that’s a proven 30 goal scorer. Gaudreau and Laine don’t work well together because they both prefer playing the LW at even strength and the power play. Keep up the great content!

Afaic, there are currently 3 people they should be talking to for GM slash GM/PHO: Eric Tulsky (duh), Mathieu Darche, and Chris MacFarland (both also duh but also have ties to Columbus). Florida promoted Bill Zito already or he’d be the 4th name. If you believe the rumors, they’re looking at Mark Hunter as well. I personally wouldn’t go there, because (to quote Alex Nylander’s big brother) “this isn’t f*** junior.” Hunter, Tulsky, and MacFarland are all going on long playoff runs and won’t be available to even speak for another three weeks. Now that the Lightning are out, Darche should be on a plane to Columbus for an interview today. And if McConnell and JD like what they hear, he should be hired this week. Seattle just jumped Columbus to the front of the HC line, and we need a GM in place who can make a decision on PV, and make a hire if necessary.
I agree that right now there is too much in the air to make predictions towards next season.

I don't know about the circumstances that had him come here to New York, but, I know, that, because of Jeff Gorton & he, we (The Rangers) are still in Salary Cap Hell, paying our 3rd pair Defenseman, Jacob Trouba, $8M per year/1st pair money. I don't see him really turning The Columbus Blue Jackets around, but, we'll see what happens. Sounds as if you're a Fan of that team. I sincerely wish you the best of luck, but, I think that they should have cleaned house (fired President, GM & Coach, as was done with The Rangers a few years ago, by Owner, Jim Dolan). Let me know what you think (PS. I like John Davidson - he was a good Goalie & TV Man with The Rangers, but, I am of the view that he's over his head in this role).

I think the hockey gods will smile on Columbus and give them the first overall pick. Can you imagine Celebrini, Fantilli, and Johnson as your top 3 centers? No rebuilds required here, and do agree with you about Laine and any other player who doesn't want to be there. Trade 'em.

Dean Evason could help team defense as head coach?
In Pascal's defense, he was thrust into the role of NHL head coach with not a lot of time to prepare for the upcoming season, so you can't entirely fault him for the decisions he made. All I will say is that they better find a new GM sooner rather than later so that person can decide if Pascal deserves another season or not. I think he should be given another season because it wouldn't be fair to fire him after a season in which he didn't really have a lot of time to properly develop his coaching strategy, however, I can understand if the new GM decides otherwise. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
does this change now that david quinn is available?
Even if they do fire Pascal, David Quinn should be the last person they should hire as head coach, that's all I'm going to say.

The blue jackets need to change the name from blue jackets to red coat and change location from Columbus Ohio to Columbus venzulla Austeria Sweden 🇩🇰 and release all the players and fire the coach and the GM and fire the new GM after hire
