I 💯 agree Catherine. 👩🏻🌾 Like you, I can get very overwhelmed with all my gardening and forget to stop, breathe and remember to be present in each and every moment I get to enjoy out there in it. It’s a blessing that we have our gardens and mine has been my biggest #mentalhealth support since 2020. One of my favourite quotes is “ nothing worth having ever comes easy” and this is also true with our gardening. I’m currently in my Autumn Season for cleaning both outdoors and indoors at home in Australia. 🇦🇺 I do this twice a year (Autumn + Spring) to ensure my home and garden and clean, organised and functional so I get to enjoy all the smaller things in life. 🏡 Have a beautiful day and thank you for making these videos, they soothe my soul. 🥰
My favourite mindful thing is I love to close my eyes and listen to the sound of the wind through the trees,of which there are many outside my back door. There’s a name for it, the sound, that is, can’t spell it though.😂
My garden is not next to our appartment. So when I come to the garden I'm very mindful watching the bees 🐝 the new plants 🌱 flowers 🌺 and whatever is new like a frog 🐸 or dragonflies. I like to take photos to look at them later when I'm at home again or I share them with friends and my community. Have a wonderful evening in your cosy home 🏡 with your lovely furry friends 🐈🐈 Greetings Heidi 👩🌾💕
Yes it is Lambs ear. Transplant to your front garden bed. It usually needs no care. If you have time to hand dig and pull all the creeping buttercup that is the best way to get rid of it. Oh your barrel is so lush and beautiful. Love seeing your kitty looking out the window thinking, "I'm growing fast won't be long now and I will be outside". Wow your gutter planters did really well. Garden is beautiful and full of all kind of flowers. Thanks Catherine. Good video.
I made a mindful spot in my garden... A stump that is comfortable to sit on underneath a large gingko tree with moss on the ground. I like to just sit there for a few minutes every day feeling the dappled sunlight on my face & soft moss under my feet. I've actually made it a design focus to have my garden encourage mindfulness just with how it is designed, lots of things to notice no matter what time of year or time of day & little hidden things to seek out.
I love the idea of beeing more mindfull while out in the garden. Yesterday on my walk I passed a garden with a lovely holly which was trimmed into a little tree. I wish I had a place for it. Love from Germany - send some rain my way please. 😅
Look at you on this Vlog , saying all the good knowledgeable tips and ideas about how to garden . You are doing well through learning about how to garden seeing as you knew nothing when you first started doing it lol. Very Good Catherine. Have a nice week. X
I found a saying that is real to me: "And into the garden I go to lose my mind and find my soul." Gardening is my therapy, I always feel so much better after a couple hours in the garden. I take out the earbuds, leave the phone in the house, and get real with nature.
Same for me. I can spend hours in the garden and not miss my phone at all. Feel the wind, the warmth of the sun, listen to the birds, and really be in the moment.
That sure looks like the ground cover Lamb’s Ear. So many uses for it. Worth having it in the garden. Homegrown antibacterial bandage speeds up the healing of cuts. Squash leaves and put on bee stings and insect bites. Infusions of dried leaves are good for colds, gum and throat infections, and asthma.
Suggestion for meadow? Maybe plant the seeds you are talking about and add some grass seeds? It might keep the ground too busy for much creeping buttercup? Best to you and your fur babies!
It looks like lamb's Ear that I have ..a ground cover one :) Yes the mindfulness..its so great ..what can you feel ? the sun on your skin, the breeze on your face ? I like to find a spot to lay under a tree and just look up and feel and hear and the sky too , just look up at the sky and see and feel , and ground yourself in the ground, imagine grounding , walking barefoot on the ground , also mindfully touching tree trunks , and 'forest bathing' 💚💚
So peaceful watching how U cut the grass n get the garden tidy up, looks beautiful with that 0ctober sunlight...🤗0mG!! Those kittens are so adorable...just investigating what's in that awesome box😅💗
Thank you for this video! I needed the mindfulness reminder. Thank you for sharing your lovely little garden! I so enjoy seeing it grow and change. And the new kitties are precious!
The house pots are very nice idea. I love my fairy garden part in my garden but will not get it over my heart to put those pots outside. Maybe in the greenhouse😂
I've been trying to do exactly that! Each morning now I grab my coffee and head outside to slowly meander around the garden while I drink and notice all the new flowers, foliage. Just a lovely relaxing 10 minutes to start the working day and really SEE my garden as opposed to working in it.
Love how you cleaned up the garden looks nice kittens look so cute just wondering if the kitttens are playful with you or there toys you all have a wonderful week I'll see you thursday ❤
Hello ~ I just wanted to make mention that the plant @ 16:16 looks like a liriope, they bloom in fall, September/October. And that is lambs ear, enjoy! 😃
It’s funny how my state (Wisconsin, USA), and your garden, look about the same right now. But that when you spoke about how your clematis, ivy and other climbers will give you green over Winter, and how here, there is nothing green over Winter, except for the fir trees. Everything here, will most likely be covered in ice and snow, and if I see anything else, it will be just bare twigs - but it’s still beautiful and frosty and sparkling snow ♥️
I always feel the same watching her videos. My spring, summer and fall looks quite similar but my winter ( PEI, Canada) looks NOTHING like Catherine's 😂 Still beautiful though.
Hi Catherine, I discovered your channel this year and really enjoy your gardening and DIY content. I recently painted my kitchen after being inspired by your kitchen makeover, which really gave me the confidence to give it a try...and I have zero DIY experience what so ever, so it was a big project for me 😂. It took me a month of weekends but I finally finished it and it looks great. Without coming across your channel I wouldn't have thought it was possible, so thank you so much for the wonderful learnings that you share ❤
You have just hit gold with her channel....always uplifting ,inspiring and filled with fun and laughter...Catherine has this cheeky giggle that always make me smile....not even mentioning the laughter when she and her lovely friend is having their chatters !!
lovely video. Got to get my autumn mulching going. I planted my 200+ bulbs on Sunday :D looking forward to seeing them next year. Love your inspiration and positivity
I love every stage of the garden, and yours in transition is beautiful. The pots are to die for; I look forward to seeing what you do with them. Have a wonderful week, xoxo's Sandie
Love love love Bacopia I put it in hanging baskets every year and it can go till December at times, it's even been known to keep going till the spring if the winter hasn't been too bad. Kitties are getting big ❤️❤️
I love photography for exactly this reason. I go for walks but am always looking at what's around me to take a picture of and it forces me to be present in the moment. I also listen for the wildlife because you tend to hear it before you see it. I always feel so much better after a walk with my camera. Keep up the great work, I love watching your videos 😊
Even as it slows down, your garden is still pretty. I like the planter that looks like a log. It gave me a good idea. The kitties woke up quick when they realized there was a box to investigate. Hope you are having a great day.
I’m trying to work on my inktober drawings and keep getting distracted with those darling kittens. Such a problem!! Please keep kitten utube coming as they are growing up so fast. I love them and have a passion for little black cats. Happy fall.
Loving the color in your garden and your new pots. That is lambs ear. Natures free plants🌱😀 My garden if giving me a second flush roses⚘, strawberry🍓, guava, zinnias and snapdragon. Viola, ornamental cabbage, peas, beets and snapdragon for Winter. May be worth chansing not seeing the crocus to smother bindweed with cardboard.
Catherine your garden is still looking lovely and colourful. I love the garden all year round. I often just sit and take in the sounds around in the garden.
I usually spend a few min in the warm sun daily in our garden. It's so healing! Our lavender is going crazy right now! It's so velvety purple..the bees are having a ball in it, so I can't cut it back yet. Fall is finally coming to San Diego! It's beautiful....love your garden today..it looks so full & healthy!
You are so right: I too assume what's going on in my garden. But there are days I'm not even going into it. I plan to go outside tomorrow and have a proper look, smell and feel and listen and touch. Thank you for reminding me!! ❤
Just finished getting my garden ready for winter. Everything that needs to be cut back is done and mulched over. Tulip & daffodil bulbs have been planted. Today's high is 8c with overnight being minus 2c feeling like minus 4.
Lovely cottage pots. I cannot wait to see, what you put in them. I have spent the day planting Crocus in my lawn, inspired by yours last Spring. Backbreaking but will be worth it, in Spring. The kittens are so sweet into everything new that comes into the house, especially boxes. I too must slow down and be more mindful whilst out in nature, as so good for the soul and your wellbeing. See you Thursday.
Your garden looks nice after its tidy up. I need to go out and deadhead my roses, still about a fourth still blooming. I got intrigued sitting on the back patio seeing dragon flies and little humming birds. I slowed down and enjoy these moments, rather than going directly to fetch my clippers.
Hello lady! After watching your channel I was inspired to make 4 pots of flowers for the cooler weather. I planted each pot with narcissus 6in from top for this Spring then ornamental kale and pansies on the top. Hope they give me enjoyment throughout the winter season then beautiful blooms popping through in the Spring. Thanks for the ideas 😊
Lovely video Catherine 🥰. You know you can use those rudbeckia seed heads to make a pretty wreath! You just cut the stems to a few inches long (when the petals are all gone), use a grapevine wreath and weave them in, it looks really lovely 🥰. They look quite bleak in the garden when they’re finished flowering but they can actually make something really beautiful ❤
A Mindful Moment! More like a Mindful Week! Beautiful video! Please someone tell me what are the little white flowers called on 0:18 on the video! I must have some! ❤
Your garden video is lovely, as always. Have you heard that Monty Don's dog Nell has passed away? So sad, but he still has two dogs. His dogs are always in the garden with him like the cats you have had, and your neighbour's cat, they all know you are a cat woman.
approx 14.02 lashings and lashings of snowdrops in the ground. some bluebells and crocus? Be gorgeous! Also, I love your little Flymo/strimmer thing. I'm looking for something like that - using the clippers has me kilt - cold I ask where you got yours?
I am noticing that my flowers gerbera daisies are not dying off it is almost the end of October and they are as huge as my hand the flower itself. Also, the herbs seem to tolerate the colder weather we are just going to have our killing frost tonight. I do not want to say goodbye just yet. But it will be colder soon. My miniature roses are still blooming I brought those in last night and hope they will winter over in the house the tag says to bring them indoors for winter. I am thinking since our season of October is not like it used to be I find my plants and flowers only now just starting to fade away. Is it like this in Ireland?
Yes, I have noticed this too, Autumn has been warmer and I find more dahlias etc are flowering. Once the clocks change I find its the light changes stopping the flowering.
Hey, no I leave them in the ground until next year, some older tulips that are not as strong, I will remove them, and ones in pots but not in the borders
Got this of a garden show. Spring bulbs plant just before the Christmas tree is going up summer bulbs just after Christmas tree is down. Personal when I plant summer bulbs at end of January they flower with the spring bulbs and go until October, 😊
If you want berries on the holly (if you get one) you really need two, male and female. Just beware that the male hollies usually have a female name and vice versa. - Frances

Such a relaxing watch! Love the kittens and love you fairy cottages
Thank you Cliff! 😊
Throw grass seed in your bear spot. It makes your yard look bigger. It's still 93 degrees in Texas.

Aww I’m glad you enjoyed ♥️ thanks for stopping by xx
The house pots are very nice idea. I love my fairy garden part in my garden but will not get it over my heart to put those pots outside. Maybe in the greenhouse😂
Just found the word for wind rustling through the trees, it’s psithurism, pronounced with-err-is-um. Always calms me. ❤️
Oh yesss ♥️ that sounds so calming!
Lamb's ear (Stachys byzantina) that furry plant
I've been trying to do exactly that! Each morning now I grab my coffee and head outside to slowly meander around the garden while I drink and notice all the new flowers, foliage. Just a lovely relaxing 10 minutes to start the working day and really SEE my garden as opposed to working in it.

Thank you so much for your video. Your cottage pot is beautiful. I wish they would sell something like that here in Arizona. All my love for you.😊
Hmm I wonder if you could get something similar online even? 🤔
